  • me, looking at the current state of the world, crying: I wish none of this had happened...
  • Gandalf, materialising in my conscience, smiling kindly: So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world, besides the will of evil.

But seriously think about it. It’s become more than a social norm for teenage girls to hate their body. Its become a social obligation. Any girl who admits to loving their own body is narcissistic, big headed, really thinks she’s something. If that’s not proof how how the patriarchy is literary destroying teenage girls’ self confidence I don’t know what is.
German MPs approve gay marriage in snap vote - BBC News
Gay men and lesbians are given full marital rights - but Chancellor Merkel votes against the change.

A clear majority of German MPs have voted to legalise same-sex marriage, days after Chancellor Angela Merkel dropped her opposition to the idea.

The reform gives gay men and lesbians full marital rights, and allows them to adopt children.

At present, same-sex couples are limited to civil unions.

But Mrs Merkel, who only decided to allow the vote on Monday, voted against the measure. Her political opponents were strongly in favour.

23-year-old RAF gunner Corrie McKeague went missing in Bury St Edmonds in September last year. His disappearance has since baffled local police, as despite being caught on CCTV entering a cul-de-sac, there is no camera footage to suggest that he left.  Following a night out with his friends, McKeague became separated from the group, and entered the dead end in the early hours of the morning. With cameras at every angle, it seems almost impossible that he left the cul-de-sac untraced.

Police are trying to locate potential witnesses caught on CCTV, along with 4 vehicles that were seen in the area. More than £50,000 has been raised by the public, with numerous special investigators brought onto the case, but there is still no sign of Corrie McKeague. Just weeks after his disappearance, McKeague’s 21-year-old girlfriend discovered she was pregnant.  The search continues.

Its not like I did it on purpose
And I don’t think this was your plan
But I fell for you in a passing glance
Now maybe I can somewhat understand.

So text me when you’re all alone,
Turns out: two actually can keep a secret.
No girl dreams of being the other woman,
I certainly never thought I’d be it.
—  Dear Anne

Today, almost 50 years after picking up his 19-month-old stepson by the ankles and swinging him into the fireplace, 71-year-old David Dearlove was found guilty of murder. An open verdict was recorded at the time of  Paul Booth’s death in 1968, with Dearlove claiming that Paul had simply fallen out of bed.

However, in 2015, Paul’s brother Peter went on Facebook to find the above photo of the toddler sat on Dearlove’s knee. Prompting memories of the terrible event, which 3-year-old Peter had witnessed through a crack in the door, he went to the police in 2015 and at long last, a trial was launched.

During the trial, a Home Office pathologist demonstrated how Paul’s injuries were consistent with Peter’s testimony, noting that it would have taken separate blows to produce the fracture found on the little boy’s skull. Now facing mandatory life in prison, Dearlove will finally receive the justice that he has evaded for almost half a century.

Algy knows that in the human world of trouble and strife some times are darker and more forbidding than others, and at present things are looking particularly grim and menacing, to the extent that many of Algy’s friends feel as though they are stranded on a dismal rock, with the deep, dark waters surging all around and threatening to engulf them.

When Algy is stranded on such a rock, he remembers that although he may feel helpless, the rock that he clings to is strong, so he turns his gaze to the open sky, lets the wind blow freely through his feathers so that they remain fluffy, and thinks of the amazing kindness of all his good friends, not only to himself, but to each other - a kindness which he sees on Tumblr every single day :)

So Algy is thinking of you all - especially his good friends in America, and all those people, anywhere in the world, who are threatened by the current state of affairs in the USA - and he sends you all lots of especially fluffy hugs, to help you hold fast to your own rocks, stay strong, and resist the threats of the dark waters which surge around you xoxo

Nazis, Racists, Trump & Violence

I have one thing to say about all this, because I don’t (sometimes try not to) get into politics or religion on here. But this is a case of human decency, not political debate.

Not in His name.

There’s the stereotype of white, “Christian” men who are at the heart of the domestic terrorism/racism problem. And quite frankly, they are. It’s undeniable.
But whatever you think about their horrible beliefs, please don’t think that this has any basis at all in Christianity. It’s as un-Christ-like as it’s possible to be!

Jesus tore down the constructs of race and cultural division with a message of absolute equality and fellowship with all nations and peoples - even those who persecuted and killed him!

Unfortunately, it’s not uncommon these days that people of multiple faiths have to speak out and discredit the actions of terrorists who act in the name of a religion - as they go against every peaceful teaching of said religion.

Not in His name.

“I’m wearing a vintage blazer and blouse, Gucci men pants, Gucci shoes, a vintage Cartier bag with a Marc Jacobs strap, and vintage jewelry plus some by Alexis Bittar and Gucci. I’m inspired by my mood and the fact that I like to reinvent myself on a daily basis. I like to play and have fun with my looks. I like Gucci, Miu Miu, Dries can Noten, Balenciaga, YSL shoes, Acne, Sies Marjan, Prada, all shades of pink and lilac, chunky hand knit sweaters, and anything vintage - always.”
