Just a Taste (A CS AU) Part 6/10

AU where Emma and Killian are contestants on the Great American Baking Show and all twelve contestants hail from Storybrooke Maine. In this AU Emma is a book editor by day, while Killian is an architect who just moved to town a few months prior. Expect baked goods, flirtatious interactions, a little drama and a whole lot of fluff with a guaranteed HEA for Captain Swan. Rated M.

Part One Here, Part Two Here, Part Three Here, Part Four Here, Part Five Here

A/N: Week six, week six…what could be happening on week six? How about those long awaited ‘I love you’ confessions, and the earning of the M rating. Hope you guys enjoy, and thank you so much for reading!

“You know, Ruby, I have to admit, I really didn’t give much thought to today’s challenge, but if the past sixty minutes has taught me anything, it’s that creating a tower of cream puffs is a lot harder than it looks.”

Graham’s words said for the benefit of the cameras were an understatement, and for Emma, it was more than nerve wracking. Even if she worked all week to prep for this, she was by no means an expert on space parameters and caramel glaze as a constructing agent.  At least she knew her cream puffs themselves would taste good. Returning to her favorite duo of coffee and chocolate had not been a bad idea, and if she wasn’t so worried about getting these all to set in place, she’d likely be eating the extras she made all by herself.

And All This Devotion (1/1)

Happy Valentine’s Day, @once-upon-a-captain-swan!

Hi, dollface! I’m your CSSV and had so much fun writing this for you. I’ve enjoyed our little chats over the last few weeks and I hope you enjoy the story. I tried to put as many little touches of you in it as I could.

The knock came at 2:05. It was tentative, barely pulling Killian out of a dreamless sleep and for a moment, he thought he’d imagined it. Fuzzy-brained, he was a second away from chalking it up to a rattling pipe or noise from the street when another knock came, this one more insistent.

Tossing the covers off and cursing as he kicked his feet free from the tangled sheet, he padded through the living room, throwing the deadbolt and dramatically pulling the door open, ready to give his untimely visitor hell while wearing nothing more than a pair of boxer briefs and a scowl.

The piss and vinegar was short-lived when his eyes fell onto the figure standing in the hallway.

Her face was red and blotchy with strands of blonde hair sticking to tear tracks. A cheap diaper bag, stretched to the limits and overflowing, was slung over her shoulder, one of those infant car seats designed for carrying at her feet, the baby inside asleep.

Chin lifting just enough to convey some measure of pride, her eyes wouldn’t rise enough meet his. When she spoke it was to the dog tags resting on his chest.

“We didn’t have anywhere else to go.”

Captain Swan Mermaid AU

When Prince Killian Jones is caught in a shipwreck, he is carried to shore by a mysterious woman.  Emma, the mermaid who saved him, hears of his quest to find her, and takes on legs for a day to see what all the fuss is about.  Things escalate, and Emma, scared of what the future might hold, backs out before she falls in too deep.  But true love never fades, and when prince and mermaid meet each other again a year later, she is finally ready to give him her heart.

Happy Holidays @cocohook38 from your ouat secret santa!

[  verboten. ]

Summary: AU One-Shot. The next generation of OUAT. She’s the daughter of the Savior and Captain Hook. He’s the son of Beauty and the Beast. Their fathers have been enemies for centuries, but they’ve been making heart eyes at each other for years. Secret dating ensues.

AO3 / FF.net

A/N: Based off this post and a subsequent ask I received. I have forever had this fancast in my head for these OUAT kids – he takes after his mother with his shy smile and love for books, she has her father’s coloring and her mother’s magic. And then you went and ruined me by making it a sort of star-crossed lovers trope. Because that is EXACTLY what would happen in such a fairytale.

My deepest, heartfelt thanks to my sparkledoodle @killians-dimples for being so kind and listening to me freak out over this and being a wonderful, encouraging friend. As always.

(ETA: I started this before S6 kicked off, so I am completely ignoring that the show decided to shoot holes in this headcanon by actually casting the future Rumbelle son.)

+ + + +

She’s not quite sure when exactly it started, she’s only sure that she’s in too deep.

And that her father is going to kill her.

A gust of crisp fall wind greets her as she steps out of Granny’s Diner, lifting her raven curls and tipping her beanie askew as she makes her way quickly down the sidewalk, a bag of sandwiches tucked neatly under her arm. She told her parents that she was going to the sheriff’s station to finish up some paperwork, which wasn’t exactly a lie (no use even trying when Emma Swan is your mother) – but it wasn’t exactly the whole truth either. She just has to make a little detour first.

(She tries not think about the way her mother’s sharp green eyes had lingered on hers before she dashed out the door, tries to pretend that her secret is safe.)

(But deep down she knows her mother sees too much.)

Another AU inspired by spoilers for next week, in which Regina finds herself on the last mission she ever expected: trying to engineer a meeting between a princess and a pirate.

For @galadriel26 - happy birthday!

Regina Mills is still silently fuming about her own plan. It’s a good plan. It will work.

But on a purely personal level it’s infuriating to find herself in the position of matchmaker for Captain Guyliner and Little Miss Perfect. It will work, and they’ll all remember—and she will never, ever, live it down.

Emma, to her complete lack of surprise, is not helping. “You know this won’t work,” she says haughtily as she looks out of the small window of the carriage that Regina had commandeered. Outside, the forest is sunlit and bright, and Regina feels a strange pang at the sight of it. She never appreciated it, before. For so long, she only hated it for hiding Snow White from her. Now, the sight and scent of it seems to tug at her heart, whispering of home.

“If my parents really are in danger, I don’t see how a pirate is going to help,” Emma goes on, and Regina almost, almost, laughs at the note of scorn in her voice. She recognises it. It’s a natural by-product of being raised a princess. Emma Swan, the princess, is far from a spoiled brat, but she’s also a far cry from Emma Swan, the woman who drove into Storybrooke one night and turned Regina’s life upside down.

This woman has never broken the law or dallied with criminals. This woman has grown up loved and wanted and utterly sure of who she is.

It makes her even more inconveniently confident than she was in Storybrooke. It also makes it hard to lie to her, which is why Regina has been purposely vague about this plan of hers, the fake one she told Emma in order to get her into this carriage and onto this road.

“Trust me,” she says as carelessly as she can manage. “He’ll help. If he knows what’s good for him.”

“You keep saying that, but — “

There’s a shout outside. The carriage rumbles to a stop. There’s more shouting, the ring of steel, and Emma frowns and sits up straighter. Regina smiles.

Show time.

A Lieutenant Duckling Tale - Part 1 of 2 |Part 2 Here|

When Princess Emma decides to ask Lieutenant Killian Jones to the annual Royal Holiday Ball, things do not go as planned. His captain, and older brother, Liam will not stand for it. There is no one else she would like to attend with, so maybe this ball wont be so magical after all… What happens next however, may surprise this sweet duckling.

CS FF: Casual Fridays

A/N: For @lifeinahole27, who long ago left me the prompt of ‘Captain Swan - casual Friday.’ Thanks go to @lenfaz for reading this over.

Summary: It was supposed to be just another one-night stand, but somehow she got carried away with this one.

Words: 4000 | Rating: M | ao3

Emma was pretty sure that if she wanted to take the time, she could write a really useful guide on what not to do when looking for a potential one night stand. Forget warnings like not being too drunk, not forgetting to pack a condom, and texting a friend to let them know where you are, these seemed like a given. There was plenty of more useful advice that could be shared.

For instance, don’t go for the guy at the bar with too much hair gel. It will end up with him getting all too handsy before you’ve even left the bar, and you’ll be lucky if he’s ever taken the time to figure out where a woman’s clit is given how long he’s spent getting his hair like that. Or don’t pick up the bartender of your local bar, unless you have no plans to return. Ever. Or avoid the guy in the corner of the coffee shop with the ponytail, he’s definitely going to recite some sort of poetry in your ear while trying to get you off and it is just going to kill it for you.

Or, much like the bartender scenario, don’t fuck your neighbor. No matter how hot or enticingly accented he may be, if your entire goal is an orgasm (or two, if you were lucky) and to never see the guy again, fucking your neighbor is counterproductive.

Emma was pretty sure this point couldn’t be high enough on said guide.

(Even if said neighbor delivered three.)

A Lieutenant Duckling Tale - Part 2 of 2 |Part 1 Here|

Killian confronts Liam about the ball. The Princess asked HIM, and there was just something about her he couldn’t stop thinking about. He made his mind up, and Liam, Captain or not, would not be stopping him.  As Emma gets ready for the ball, she wonders if he will show or not. Her mind thinks no, but maybe… just perhaps… he would be there.

As she enters the room with her Mother, there he was. Standing right at the base of the stairs, waiting for her. She felt the butterflies take flight in her stomach as she walked down the stairs.  A night of dancing and romance was just beginning. This truly would be a magical evening…

For @emmascaptn, my CS SS giftee. :)

terrible and wonderful

A bit of an AU where Killian remembers and Emma does not. Not really speculation, more just inspired by recent spoilers and the thought of Emma “meeting” Killian in full pirate swagger mode.

Killian Jones has lived through a lot; some of it terrible, some of it less so, and some of it (the smallest portion, but the one he treasures most) rather wonderful.

This current predicament definitely ranks among the terrible—ripped from the new home he’s only just begun to build, away from his family, his friends, his love. Cursed, not like the others to forget, but to remember. He remembers, even as he walks across the deck of his ship, acting like the ruthless captain he once was. He remembers as he listens to talk about the royal family and their beautiful daughter, the princess Emma.

The woman he loves. The woman who loves him. The woman who has forgotten that he even exists.

And once again, he is powerless against the magic that has torn them all apart. Part of him is relieved that it’s him, this time; the last time, it was Emma who remembered, Emma who had to bear the burden of knowing who she was amidst people who did not remember, Emma who had to look at him and see the total lack of recognition in his face. He would not wish that on her again.

But she was always the one with magic. She’s the Savior. He’s a pirate. All he has is a steel hook, a sharp blade, and a silver tongue.

And the finest ship in all the realms at his command, but that no longer carries the same meaning it once did.

He doesn’t know what to do. He does not expect her to figure it out.

But when she walks into the tavern one night, he knows her immediately. She’s wearing a peasant’s dress, similar to one he pilfered for her long ago (so long ago, hah!) but more modest in cut. She carries herself with the same sure grace, the same commanding air that he swears he would recognise anywhere.

She sits alone, and he can’t help it. He’s drawn to her like a moth to a flame. And it’s such a bad idea, for so many reasons, and he’s begging for trouble and he knows it…

He walks over.

I want to remember...

Summary: What if you wake up and can remember enough of what happened the night before to know that everything has changed, but still don’t know who made the first move? (just a little friends to lovers sexy times for your Saturday) AO3

She wakes up to the usual sounds of squealing brakes followed by impatient horn blasts, security gates rattling in their journey upwards, murmurs of cell phone calls and the occasional bark of a too small dog. The noises of the city around her never seem to change, even on a morning that feels like it should be different. She presses at the base of her neck to see if the skin there is raised, fingertips tracing the same pattern as his lips, his tongue, the coarse hairs of his chin. Scrunching her eyes ever more tightly closed, she tries to add clarity to images threatening to disappear as consciousness fights with the fog of drunken mistakes.

Was it a mistake the way his mouth felt against hers, the weight of his hands on her skin or the possessive feel of his fingers anchored in her hair. Did he not mean the words he breathed between her lips between soul deep kisses?

“Finally…I’ve always wanted…Emma…”

She knows the truth of hers.

“Me too…”

A Favor Returned

Just a stupid little New Year’s Eve ficlet, almost 2 months late, but who cares?

summary: modern AU. Emma is scelebrating New Year’s Eve with her girls, and they are having fortune cookies of a special kind. A handsome, but infuriating stranger doesn’t help to lift the mood…

rating: k for kissing ;)

also on: ff.net and ao3

Like every year, Ruby Lucas makes a big show giving out the small tulle packets with the homemade fortune cookies she brought back to Boston from her Christmas visit to her grandmother. It’s tradition that she and her bunch of friends each get one to open at midnight on New Year’s Eve.

Like every year, she reminds them, “Granny says not to open them before midnight!”

Like every year, her girlfriend Mulan jokes, “Wait, those are Chinese, shouldn’t I be the one giving them to you?”

Ruby rolls her eyes, “Don’t be so cliché. It’s getting old.”

Emma Swan frowns suspiciously at the cookie in her hand. “Wait, this is a trick? There’s some stupid message inside just to…”

To be fair, it wouldn’t be the first time. Granny Lucas, at whose house Emma spent a lot of time in her youth, has tried more than once to send encouraging messages especially to her. Over the last years, however, it has become more and more annoying, and Emma started to feel the pain of every only single among a bunch of friends who are all happily taken. Endearing as it is that they all care so much for her, it’s still unnerving when even your youth’s friend’s grandmother tries to get you to finally find a boyfriend – or a girlfriend, whatever floats your boat, as Granny put it so eloquently.
