A/n: It’s not as good as I wanted, tbh.
“Thorin!” you cry out as you watch the warg knock him over. You couldn’t let this happen, but you couldn’t do anything. At least not when you were hanging from a tree.
You pull yourself up and steady yourself on the trunk.
As the orc approaches Thorin for the final blow, Bilbo tackles him to the ground and you follow him, attacking the orcs.
You take your arrow and aim for the white orc and warg. You hit the warg in the eye, but miss the orc. He turns and growls at you, getting off his warg and advancing.
Before he can step closer, eagles start attacking.
“Thorin!” you cry out as an eagle picks him up.
He doesn’t move.
Once the eagles get rid of the orcs, you jump off the cliff and an eagle catches you.
You don’t care about the height only that your dwarf may or may not be dead.
When you land, you immediately run over to Thorin.
You feel for a pulse and he’s not breathing.
“Gandalf!” you cry out and the wizard comes running over.
He whispers a few words, running his hand over the dwarf’s face. Suddenly, Thorin starts breathing again. You sigh, a few tears slipping down your face.
“The Halfling?” Thorin asks as you back away.
“Bilbo is fine. He is here,” Gandalf says as you blend into the other dwarves.
Thorin stands with the help of Kili and Dwalin.
“You!” Thorin shouts, pointing at Bilbo.
“What were you doing? You nearly got yourself killed! Did I not say that you be a burden, that you would not survive the wild and that you have no place amongst us?” he asks and you want to slap the dwarf for saying that to the hobbit that just saved his life.
“I have never been so wrong in all my life,” Thorin says again and pulls Bilbo into a hug. The dwarves cheer, but you had no room for cheering. Now that he was safe, you couldn’t help, but be angry at him. Did he really think that he could take on a warg and orc with just his sword and a branch?
“And I am sorry that I have doubted you,” Thorin continues, but you ignore the monologue opting to get away from everyone. Fili notices you walking away and follows you.
“Are you alright?” he asks and you turn to him with a frown on your face. “Your uncle. I’m going to murder him,” you growl out and he laughs.
“I think we can do without that for now,” he tells you. “What was he thinking? That stupid, stubborn dwarf! He could have died. He would have died if it wasn’t for Bilbo. The next time he talks to me, I’m going to give him a piece of- “
But you’re interrupted by a throat being cleared. Fili turns around to find Thorin with his arms behind his back. The company is still on the other side, looking at something. It must be the mountain.
Thorin nods as if telling Fili to fuck off and Fili leaves, leaving you and Thorin behind. You huff, crossing your arms and looking away from him.
“You are upset,” Thorin states and that flares your anger. “Of course I’m upset you stupid dwarf. I thought you were dead for Mahal’s sake! You can’t just go into a battle and expect to win without some form of help! That’s how you die!” you exclaim, tears running down your face.
He immediately pulls you into a hug and you sob into him.
“I’m sorry amralime. So, sorry,” he says, rubbing your hair.
“I can’t lose you. Not after everything I’ve already lost,” you say. “I know, my love, I know,” he says. After reconciling, you all make your way down the rocks.
“You got a cute butt, by the way,” Thorin says as you walk in front of him causing Kili and Fili to giggle. “Nice try, Thorin, but I’m still mad at you,” you tell him, not turning around. “I just thought I’d try,” he shrugs, “that always works in bed.”
That causes you to elbow him in the stomach. He literally just got off of his deathbed and he went right back to flirting. He was unbelievable
