crucifies

I got a bunch of asks about US Presidential elections and the debate...

I am - for once - going to abstain from engaging in this kind of politics. Simply because, no matter how much I write or reason, I will be seen as fringe, and I have been personally attacked for it. Let’s just say I am always critical, no matter who is in charge, and honestly one can hardly call tonight’s debate, a “debate.”

If you are interested in my politics, feel free to message me (though honestly right now, I am way more focused on getting work done for school). Once upon a time I wrote extensively on political reform, especially when Kshama Sawant was running for re-election in Seattle (if that gives you a hint as to my politics). All I can say is that political debates with Americans tend to turn me into a ritualistic offering whenever I bring up my Marxism, so let’s just end it there.

And that’s when things get messy. When people begin moving beyond charity and toward justice and solidarity with the poor and oppressed, as Jesus did, they get in trouble. Once we are actually friends with the folks in struggle, we start to ask why people are poor, which is never as popular as giving to charity. One of my friends has a shirt marked with the words of late Catholic bishop Dom Helder Camara: “When I fed the hungry, they called me a saint. When I asked why people are hungry, they called me a communist.” Charity wins awards and applause but joining the poor gets you killed. People do not get crucified for living out of love that disrupts the social order that calls forth a new world. People are not crucified for helping poor people. People are crucified for joining them.

If Taylor is hiding a man, could anyone blame her? She followed her heart and saw 3 continents with a beautiful man who adored her. What did they get for it? They were crucified by the media and possessive, delusional fans accusing them of stunts and fame whoring. I think Tom understands completely the microscope TS has been under all of her adult life bc he saw it first hand. TH will most likely never trust the GP and media again. His openness will be replaced by being very guarded.

Yeah it turned into a shit show

New Testament In a Year: September 26 – Galatians 6

Galatians 6
(1-10) Bear One Another’s Burdens
Followers of Jesus the Christ must bear the burdens of others. Doing so means that we must restore those who may have fallen in a spirit of gentleness while not thinking of ourselves as better than others. Those who know the Word ought to be generous, do good, and sow the Word in the lives of others. We are to do good works to everyone and never grow weary of doing good works. We will reap eternal blessings, if we do not give up.

(11-18) Final Warning and Benediction
Paul refuses to boast in anything or anyone except the cross of Christ. The cross has crucified Paul to the world and has crucified the world to Paul. The cross has made Paul a new creation. The cross has the same power over us today.

Favorite verse: (10) So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.

I've got a feeling the release of TS6 will be a similar event like the beach photos tavyin just dropped on us one day... we'll be innocently living our daily lives and before we know it an album will be out- no warning -no signs... and we'll all be crucified. RIP us

tbh i doubt that. she could do a surprise album if she wants but low key she gets the majority of her sales from anticipation she builds in her “pre-album” shit that she does with fans and junk. she would sell a lot regardless but i think she’d probably sell more with hints and shit you know? i could be wrong…it’s just my opinion.

When Julius Caesar was kidnapped by pirates, he laughed in their faces, raised the ransom, and sent his men to collect enough silver to pay it. While he waited, he won them over (despite treating them as minions) and gained so much trust that they didn’t believe it when he said he’d come back to kill them all. He later captured them, got his silver back, cut their throats, and had them crucified. Source

Amazing Grace - original print from The Worship Project.

Just like that, I’ve completed my 10-day visual hymnal mini-project! I couldn’t leave out the most widely celebrated and loved hymn of all time.

I’ve deliberately made today’s artwork quite different from my usual style. I want this image to speak where words fail. I want you to feel the weight of such amazing, beautiful grace, as Jesus walked to calvary alone.

He gave His life, rejected, beaten, and alone.

Grace is extended to us through this prolific act of sacrificial love. I pray that you would encounter amazing grace; that you would feel His love wrap around you, meeting you right where you are.

“Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, That saved a wretch like me. I once was lost but now am found, Was blind, but now I see.

T'was Grace that taught my heart to fear. And Grace, my fears relieved. How precious did that Grace appear, The hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils and snares, I have already come; ‘Tis Grace that brought me safe thus far, and Grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promised good to me. His word my hope secures. He will my shield and portion be, As long as life endures.

When we’ve been there ten thousand years, Bright shining as the sun. We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise, Than when we’ve first begun.”
