Crown Prince Gustaf Adolf (future King Gustaf VI Adolf) and Crown Princess Margareta of Sweden (née Princess Margaret of Connaught).  He was the grandson of King Oscar II of Sweden and she, the granddaughter of Queen Victoria.

They met in Cairo and fell in love at first sight.  Gustaf and Margaret married on 15 June 1905 in St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.

He was described as “tall, dark, well-informed, fond of music, an excellent shot and a good dancer.”  She was considered one of the most beautiful and eligible princess in Europe.  Her interests involved art, sport, and gardening.

Her father was a son of Queen Victoria of England. She died while eight months pregnant with her sixth child, and thirty years before her husband would become king.

Prince Sigvard lost his titles when he married a commoner, but later was created Count of Wisborg. Prince Gustaf Adolf was the father of present King Carl XVI Gustaf.
