crony capitalist

m01r4s  asked:

I know that the anarchist flag with yellow is for anachro-capitalism but which one is the one with the black and grey flag?

Agorism, an ideology that focuses on creating “a voluntary society by employing counter-economics and black markets to disintegrate the current ‘crony capitalist’ system”. It’s just more capitalist nonsense that ignores class relationships, history, and the real sources of oppression and tyranny.

i always imagined squidward would be an anarcho-capitalist that thinks capitalism would work fine if the "crony capitalists" like mr. krabs were magically removed.

he said “the gentle laborer shall no longer suffer”, implying that he thinks capitalism exploits labor. his nihilistic outlook towards work also shows that he doesn’t believe in capitalist societal expectations.

follow for more spongebob anticapitalist analysis.

aside from the bros insisting that any mention of “skills” means Democrats think the key to winning elections is forcing ex-coal miners to learn how to code, I keep seeing comments on the whole slogan kerfuffle like “people don’t need skills they just need to be paid better!”

But paying people better still requires a working economy. Even if you managed to redistribute all existing wealth and assured everyone a basic standard of living, you still have to have skilled workers to keep a functioning society going. All societies, whether crony capitalist or democratic socialist, need people with specialized knowledge. Your anarchist collective would need them too. How young or sheltered are the people who think skills are irrelevant?

Infrastructure doesn’t just magically appear, diseases don’t cure themselves, your mom has been doing your laundry this whole time, Jeremy!

Is it wrong to focus on the ‘bad aspects’ of immigration?

Hi, I’m a biracial hispanic working on a graphic novel that criticizes the white capitalist hetero patriarchy dominance and the time period is a ‘49-’52 post-WWII U.S. AU with urban-fantasy aspects (like golems and vampires). There’s about 30-something characters all of different ethnicities, sexualities, and beliefs. However…the main focus is on different crime syndicates who, historically, went almost unnoticed (since its so similar and even inspired US systems) during this time since the government focus was on the red scare.

The comic itself is a study of the gray area that focuses on the gangsters and the victims, and its character-driven as all are affected by a mix of sociopolitical, gender, and racial expectations from both crime and the political system criticised above. Thing is, I don’t live in the United States and only have documentaries and about a dozen or more books are references I’ve read to back up the story. I really want to do this comic, and I’ve done research for about 3 years, but…would it be right to do a story that focuses on what people see the “bad aspects” of immigrants/PoCs, (even if its due to a system that was forced, fed, and created by the hetero patriarchal racist system of the empire of the white-US). Especially in this current moment in time where the sensitivity of immigrants is at an all time high?

What are you uh, asking, exactly?

If you’re asking “can I write morally grey characters who aren’t white,” yes.   Why couldn’t you?  It’s in the execution.  Villains, in the end, genuinely think they’re doing the right thing.

If you’re asking “is it okay to portray racism in a fictional work,” yes.  Why wouldn’t you? It’s a source of external and internal conflict, and a historically accurate one.  Portraying racism and condoning it are two different things.

If you’re asking “is it okay to portray the harsh fact that sometimes assimilation is necessary”, then yes.  You’re writing a story, not a propaganda piece, right? There are situations where assimilation is necessary for someone to survive, and I don’t mean “because they’ll get subjected to racism if they don’t.” I mean that you need to learn the local language to be able to call and talk to 911, you need to learn your rights here so that you don’t find yourself subjected to enduring the domestic abuse, employer abuse, etc. that is legal back where you’re from.  You need to learn the laws so you don’t learn what is illegal the hard way, because America has silly regulations on jaywalking and the like that other countries just kind of leave to common sense.

If you’re asking “is it okay to criticize immigration,” yes, actually, it is, and the people who think you’re automatically evil for having something to say about immigration probably don’t realize things like the horrors of human trafficking, labor trafficking and employer abuse tied into this subject.

As for today’s sensitivity about immigration, well,… which ones do you mean? I guess you mean Mexicans, right?  Because the major immigrant groups of the 40s were Eastern Europeans and Mexicans.  Since you are being critical of Whites, I don’t suppose you really are writing about displaced people from war-torn Europe, and you’re talking about all the Mexicans, yes?

If that is the case:

When you explained the situation from the perspective that the trials of immigrants were due to the actions of the United States, the ask came off like you believe that the situation in the 1940s in America was solely due to the US’s actions, that the US was the only racist party.

If you have not done so already, I recommend strongly that you take a critical eye to Mexico’s involvement in the situation as well and Mexico’s popular culture about communism versus capitalism.  I mean dude, in the 1940s, you had things going on like Mexico turning a nazi sympathizer into a cultural icon because he was a communist and we were willing to overlook all the wonderful things that Vasconcelos had to say about Hitler.  Today when you leave Mexico without a passport, the federales will SHOOT YOU if you don’t pay the bribe. What I’m saying here is, on top of researching the social and legal atrocities of the United States, research the social and legal atrocities of Mexico, because trust me, there are plenty.

For example, you mention that you want to criticise Capitalism: despite the popularity of communism in Mexico at the time, the Mexican president at the time (Aleman) was an anti-Communist, crony capitalist.  His government was more than corrupt, which is partially why Mexican people had to go so far out of their way to get a job in America  – it was better than any other option they had from the corrupt government of Mexico.  Aleman did improve Mexican industry but not Mexican standards of living, and the lives he enriched were mostly just his personal circle.

Hell, Aleman basically helped cause the situation that today’s politics worry so much about today because he helped to negotiate the  Bracero program.  This is not to paint the United States as an angel, simply to say both nations are guilty of corruption and of the subjugation of the people who your story likely aims to represent, and you should research this subject as well.

Ugh

I’m so fucking sick of liberals. They simply refuse to listen to any other viewpoints. None of our sources are good enough. All of our arguments are based on straight white male privilege. The only reason we believe what we do is because we actively want to hurt other people.

I should just be liberal. Arguing would be so much easier.

Also Fuck Trump for making us look bad. And for being a rapist. And crony capitalist.

Okay, time for some Real Talk for all my fellow Fascists/National Socialists.

Now that we’ve all had the day to get smug at crying liberals over the election results, it’s time to sober up and face the ever-present reality of our situation.

This election means very little for us in the long term.

I hope most of you understand this by now, but it bears repeating that anyone among our number who still genuinely thinks that our current System is salvageable or that Trump is “secretly on our side” is fucking delusional. The truth is that most white people, whether conservative or liberal, are still shills for the System and would never even stomach the thought of joining the National-Socialist cause while the System still provides for their needs and wants. And when the day comes when that stops, it will most certainly not be people like Donald Trump who will lead us, not the in the slightest.

Donald Trump is a pampered, spoiled rich crony capitalist, a lecherous misogynist and alleged rapist, and a kike-loving shill who, at the end of the day, only cares about his shekels, just as everyone else like him does. He would pull another Ruby Ridge on us “ebil natzees” without a second thought, just as everyone else like him would, because the System is fucking closed to us and has been for a very long time; in fact, its very existence is justified to the masses on account of its defeat of Fascism/National Socialism.

Look around and ask yourselves: does acting bunch of smug conservatives knocking down a few liberal sandcastles make us the heirs of the noble ideals of Fascism/National Socialism?

It doesn’t.

Is any of this even remotely like the vision that Hitler or Mussolini had?

It isn’t, not one fucking bit.

The memes were fun, but now it’s time to wipe those self-satisfied grins off our faces and get back to work, lest we slip into complacency and forget what our real goals are.

14/88, boots on the ground.

anonymous asked:

What do you think about the people saying that because bernie sanders is a socialist he will bring us into the state of chaos that venezuela is now experiencing as a result of socialism?

Many aspects of the U.S. are already socialist in nature, including public highways, public schools, social security, the police force, and fire departments. These socialist programs have not resulted in the downfall of the American economy. Quite the contrary, these are some of the most useful and fundamental services that a government can provide. Moreover, many of the happiest and economically-successful countries in the world are quite socialist. Denmark, Sweden, and Germany, for instance, have higher tax rates and socialized healthcare and higher education, along with high rates of well-being and low rates of poverty. So while it’s true that some socialist economic systems have failed, it’s also true that aspects of socialism have proven quite successful. Same goes for supposedly capitalist economies. As Bernie Sanders likes to point out, the U.S. already redistributes its wealth, except it’s from the bottom up. Our crony capitalistic system is rigged to keep the money in the hands of the rich. Maybe this is just laissez-faire capitalism or maybe it’s crooked socialism. Maybe the lines aren’t so distinct. The economist (and avid Bernie supporter) Robert Reich has said that America’s economic system is a bastardization of capitalism, which, he argues, can and should be redeemed. The takeaway of this, to me, is that we should incorporate the best of socialism and the best of capitalism, both of which possess extremely valuable, maybe even invaluable, features. These economic approaches are not wholly at odds and presenting them as such is a false dichotomy. People are prone to false dichotomies and slippery slopes. What’s happening in Venezuela is due to a flurry of complex factors and can’t simply be blamed on ‘socialism.’ So let’s move on from such simplistic characterizations and try to approach these topics with the sophistication they warrant.

kokiri85  asked:

How seriously do you think we should take this stuff about Trump mixing business and politics? Or about his attitude towards the press and libel laws being a threat to the 1st ammendment? Like, I know I don't like his POLITICS at all, but I'm worried that is clouding my judgment about his general character.

As with anything pertaining to Donald Trump, it’s hard to say. He’s so changeable — already, for instance, he has changed parts of the “big, beautiful” wall to a fence; downsized the deportation plan from 11 million to 2 or 3 million; and tossed out “Lock her up!” entirely. On top of that, as I’ve long argued, Trump’s agenda faces limiting factors in terms of:

1. The sheer inertia of federal bureaucracy

2. Congressional Democrats

3. Congressional Republicans who disagree with Trump on a few substantial issues (e.g. Paul Ryan re: programs like Medicare or John McCain re: torture)…

4. or a lot of substantial issues (e.g. Rand Paul re: most things)

Executive authority is obscenely overgrown, and I hope Trump’s election leads to it getting a real good trim, but we don’t live in a dictatorship. He can’t do whatever he wants.

So I mention all this — the changeability and the limits — as a major caveat to these predictions. That said, I’m inclined to take quite a dim view of the business situation and a more casual approach to the free speech stuff. Here’s my rationale:

Trump is a crony capitalist through and through. He loves eminent domain. Loves it. He explicitly describes his political donations as a purchase of personal favors. All the evidence suggests he has zero qualms about using government however he can to bolster his bottom line and crush his competition. If you’re willing to take an old lady to court so you can steal her house and build a limo parking lot, you’re willing to abuse public office for personal gain if permitted to do so.

But the free speech issue is a little different, I think. One big point to consider is that libel laws are overwhelmingly controlled at the state level, which is to say Trump can’t “open them up.” It’s totally outside his range of authority. Now, he could maybe get some sort of federal incentive program to encourage states to alter their laws, but I very much doubt Congress would be enthusiastic about such an idea (and even if they were, the states would still be able to choose whether they would comply).

The likely threat I see is not so much to the First Amendment (at least, not to the speech/press part of it — we’ll see what Trump actually tries with this abominable Muslim registry idea) but the Fourth. His picks of Jeff Sessions for attorney general and Mike Pompeo to head up the CIA do not bode well on this front, and the last decade and a half of bipartisan mass surveillance precedent makes abuse of power here politically and legally easier than speech limitations.

Finally, I share your concerns about Trump’s character, and in his unique case I suspect it may prove the more reliable predictor than his policy remarks.

Uncorrected closed caption transcript, just cut-and-pasted from C-SPAN. It seems to lack an ending but otherwise pretty good window into the madness.

I THANK YOU SO MUCH. IT IS SO GREAT TO BE BACK IN IOWA. WE HAVE GREAT MEMORIES HERE. MANY TRIPS THAT WE HAVE BEEN BLESSED TO TAKE HERE. THE 2008 CAMPAIGN. THEN EVEN MORE FUN, THE TEA PARTY RALLY WE HAD. THAT WAS FUN. WE HAVE HAD FRIED EVERYTHING YOUR STATE FAIR. OF COURSE, ONE YEAR THINKING THAT AFTER THE SAY ARE, I WAS GOING TO WORK SOME OF IT OFF, WE DRIVE UP TO STORM LAKE. I THINK THERE IS A HALF MARATHON GOING ON. I CAN GO INCOGNITO AND GO SEE THIS RACE. INCOGNITO. IT MEANS FOR ME NO MAKEUP.
[LAUGHTER] I’M GOING TO SCARE LITTLE CHILDREN. I AM RUNNING THE RACE AND JUMP IN THERE. I’M INCOGNITO I’M THINKING. I’M RUNNING IN PEACE. NO ONE IS TALKING POLITICS. I CAN’T TALK ANYWAY. BUT NO PRESS THERE WITH SUSPICIOUS THINKING OF THEIR SIGNALS, SHE IS IN IOWA, WHAT IS SHE DOING? THEY ARE GOOD AT SENSING WHO IS COMING, WHO IS GOING AND THE SIGNIFICANCE OF YOUR STATE. I’M RUNNING, BUT NO PRESS BUGGING ME IF I WANT TO RUN FOR PRESIDENT OR NOT. THAT WAS THE YEAR OF THAT QUESTION. JUMPING INTO THE RACE, I’M RUNNING ACROSS THE FINISH LINE. BOOM, THEIR IM ACCUSED OF RUNNING THE RACE FOR POLITICAL PURPOSES. I FIND OUT THAT OK, I’M IN IOWA, THE RACE HAPPENED TO BE CALLED THE JUMP RIGHT IN AND RUN RACE. I GOT A MEDAL. THE PRESS IS LIKE YOU ORCHESTRATED THAT. I’M LIKE OH YEAH, ASKED TODD. ANYWAY. MY BEST MEMORIES ARE OF THE WONDERFUL FRIENDS WE HAVE MADE HERE, GOOD PEOPLE, HARD WORKERS WITH LOVE FOR THIS GREAT COUNTRY. THEY SHOW YOUR WORK ATHLETIC – WORK ETHIC. EVEN DRIVING BY YOUR HOMES WITH FLAGS WAVING ON THE FRONT PORCHES, ON ANY GIVEN NIGHT I THINK A LOT OF YOU MAY BE FOUND OUT THERE ON YOUR PORCHES CLINGING TO YOUR GUNS, YOUR GOD, YOUR CONSTITUTION. IT IS BECAUSE OF THAT, BECAUSE OF YOU THE REST OF THE COUNTRY KNOWS THIS PART OF AMERICA AS THE HEARTLAND. LAST TIME I WAS HERE TO CAMPAIGN
, IT WAS FOR ONE OF THOSE FRIENDS WHOM WE HAVE MADE, AND YOU KNOW HER, THE SOLDIER, THE FARMER, A GOOD NEIGHBOR, AND BACK THEN I CALLED HER A PISTOL PACKING HARLEY RIDING MAMA GRIZZLY. NOW I AM THRILLED TO CALL HER YOUR SENATOR, JONI ERNST.
>> OTHER FRIENDS, IT WAS HERE IN IOWA THAT I FIRST MET A BIG BURLY, BUT KIND OF SHEEPDOG

HUMBLE TYPE OF GUY WHO WANTED TO HELP US OUT WITH SECURITY. SO HAPPY TO GET TO BRING THEM TO IOWA AND GET TO KNOW HIM WELL. HE WAS A VETERAN. MY HEART FOR THE MILITARY. HE WAS HUMBLED. WE BECAME FRIENDS WITH THEM OVER THE YEARS, TODD AND HIM ESPECIALLY BECOMING FRIENDS. WE LEARN MORE ABOUT HIS AMAZING STORY. IT IS THE STORY OF SO MANY OF OUR VETERANS. INCREDIBLE SACRIFICE TO PROTECT OUR FREEDOM. WHILE WE MISSED THAT PARTICULAR FRIEND NOW, WE ARE SO HAPPY THE REST OF AMERICA IS GETTING TO KNOW MORE AND MORE THE STORY OF AMERICAN SNIPER, CHRIS KYLE. IT WAS HERE THAT WE WERE INTRODUCED TO CHRIS. YOU KNOW WHY THAT MOVIE IS BREAKING RECORDS ALL OVER THE GREAT NATION? AMERICA NEEDS A HERO AGAIN. CHRIS KYLE HAS BEEN THAT MAN. SCREW THE LEFT IN HOLLYWOOD WHO CAN’T UNDERSTAND WHAT IT IS THAT WE SEE IN SOMEONE LIKE CHRIS KYLE AND OUR VETERANS.
[APPLAUSE] SO THE LAST COUPLE OF DAYS MY DAUGHTER AND I HAVE BEEN AT A RUN SHOW IN LAS VEGAS. AT THE GUN SHOW, GETTING TO LINK UP WITH T/HEA, CHRIS’S WIFE. SHE WAS HONORING VETERANS NOW THAT CHRIS IS GONE. CARRYING ON HER HUSBAND’S LEGACY, VISITING WITH THE VETERANS. LIKE THOSE MILITARY FAMILIES, HAVING THAT SINCERE APPRECIATION FOR WHAT OTHER MILITARY FAMILIES GO THROUGH. SPENDING SO MUCH TIME WITH THESE OTHER VETERANS. AT THIS PARTY, IT SEEMS THAT WE ARE ALWAYS GOING ROGUE, SOMETHING ALWAYS HAPPENS. WE’RE AT THE PRIORITY – WE ARE SIGNING BOOKS. IN THE BACK THIS YOUNG, VERY ENERGETIC, VERY BOLD YOUNG VETERAN HOLDS UP A SIGN, AND IT WAS A FOUR LETTER MESSAGE TO MICHAEL MOORE. I CALL HIM UP FRONT. HE IS HOLDING THE POSTER. I AM LOOKING AT IT. HE SHOWS IT TO ME. PICTURES STARTED SNAPPING. I’M GIVING THE POSTER THE OLD THUMBS UP. IT WAS MY THUMB, NOT ANY OTHER FINGER.
[LAUGHTER] THAT POSTER THOUGH, YOU HAVE HEARD THE TERM SWEAR LIKE A SAILOR. I THINK THIS GUY WAS A SOLDIER. SAME THING. SOMEONE SNAPS THAT PHOTO AND WE HAVE TAKEN A LOT OF HEAT OVER THE LAST TWO DAYS FOR BEING SING WITH IT. IT IS A MESSAGE HE DESERVES.
[APPLAUSE] I WAS THINKING – I WAS THINKING WE WILL TAKE THAT HEAT. THAT IS OK. WHAT THE POSTER SAID IS WHAT THE REST OF US ARE THINKING. WHAT REALLY CAME DOWN TO WAS OUR MESSAGE TO THOSE WHO DON’T UNDERSTAND AGAIN THE OPPORTUNITY THEY HAVE TO DO WHATEVER THE HECK THEY WANT TO DO EVEN IF THEY ARE JERKS. IT IS OUR VETERANS, ARE ARE ACTIVE SERVICE MEMBERS WHO ARE PROTECTING THEIR RIGHT TO BE JERKS. IF YOU LOVE FREEDOM YOU THINK OF VETERANS. I’M GLAD TO BE IN IOWA BECAUSE I’M AMONGST FRIENDS WHO UNDERSTAND THAT FOUNDATIONAL ASPECT OF AMERICA.
[APPLAUSE] WE APPRECIATE OUR VETERANS. OK. ONE OTHER CONNECTION TO IOWA. SOMEONE ELSE WHO ELSE FROM THE STATE, SPEAKING OF BRISTOL, MAYBE YOU HAVE SEEN HER IN THE NEWS RECENTLY. PHOTOS OF HERBERT POSTED. THEY WERE CANDID PHOTOS OF HER, JUST NOTHING ON BUT LEATHER. BEAUTIFUL LEATHER.
[INDISCERNIBLE] SHE WAS TRAINED HERE IN IOWA. ANOTHER SCANDAL WITH THE PALIN’S
. THESE PICTURES WERE POSTED BECAUSE SHE HAS BEEN TRAINED AS A COMPANION FOR MY YOUNGEST CHILD, TRIG, THE LESS SPECIAL NEEDS. THIS HEALTHY LABRADOR, SHE WAS TRAINED BY THE SAME TALENTS AT THE COPY JAKE FOUNDATION THAT TRAIN SERVICE DOGS FOR OUR VETERANS.
[APPLAUSE] SO WE HAVE AN HONOR TO BE A PART OF THAT ORGANIZATION AND THAT CHARITY, AND OUR DOG. WE ARE HAPPY SHE IS FROM PUPPY JAKE. THESE PICTURES, IT WAS JUST SCANDALOUS THAT I WOULD SHOW OUR BIG, STRAPPING, HEALTHY LAB LETTING MY LITTLE BOY USE HER AS A STEPPING STOOL TO GET TO REACH THE KITCHEN SINK. I TOOK A PICTURE AND SAID THIS IS WHAT TURNING A STUMBLING BLOCK UNTIL A STEPPING STONE IS ABOUT. WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT IT WOULD HAVE BECOME A SCANDAL. THEY JUST LET LOGO. THEY WENT ABSOLUTELY CRAZY. THIS REST OF THE TINDERBOX OF THE WORLD, EVERYTHING THAT IS GOING ON IN IT, THIS WAS THE MOST OUTRAGEOUS THING THAT HAD HAPPENED. BARKING THEIR TIRED OLD DEATH THREATS AGAINST US. GET IN LINE, WEASELS.
[LAUGHTER]
[APPLAUSE] YEAH. THEY ARE HOWLING TO THE PRESS. CRUELTY TO ANIMALS, SARAH PALIN. WHICH SURPRISED ME, CONSIDERING WHAT IT DOES. WHAT JONI ERNST DOES TO THOSE IOWA HOGS.
[LAUGHTER] NOT TO MENTION, BUT THE PRESIDENT ADMITTED TO DOING TO THOSE INNOCENT INDONESIAN PUPPIES. JILL ADAPTED. SHE IS ANOTHER CONNECTION TO IOWA. HER MOTTO IS BETTER A STEPPING STONE THAN A SNACK.
[LAUGHTER] BETTER STEPPED ON BEEN SCARFED UP. THE MEDIA CRUCIFIED US. WE ARE GETTING USED TO THAT. THANK YOU SOME MUCH, CITIZENS UNITED, AWESOME GROUP. THANK YOU FOR THE INVITATION, AND STEVE KING, THERE HE STRONG. HE IS GOING ROGUE IN D.C. FOR BEING ONE OF THE BRAVE TO PULL THE LEVER FOR CHANGE IN CONGRESSIONAL LEADERSHIP TO HAVE NEW ENERGY AND CONSERVATIVE MOVEMENT, THE POLICIES THAT WILL GET THE COUNTRY ON THE RIGHT TRACK. MOSTLY, I THANK YOU FOR BEING HERE. THANK YOU. YOU ARE HEARING WORDS FOR MANY DIFFERENT PEOPLE. ONE THING IS IN COMMON. WE BELIEVE WHAT RONALD REAGAN BELIEVES, THAT WE ARE A PEOPLE WHO HAVE A GOVERNMENT, NOT A GOVERNMENT THAT HAS A PEOPLE. IT WAS JEFFERSON’S WARNING, WHEN THE PEOPLE FEAR THEIR GOVERNMENT, THAT IS TYRANNY. WHEN GOVERNMENT FEAR THE PEOPLE, THERE IS FREEDOM.
[APPLAUSE] WE ARE HERE ON THE NAME OF FREEDOM. WE ARE HERE IN THAT NAME OF FREEDOM AND YOU, EVEN YOU GET TO DECIDE WHO WILL FIGHT FOR IT. YOU WILL CAUCUS TO HELP CHOOSE OUR NEXT RESIDENT A YEAR FROM NOW.
– OUR NEXT PRESIDENT A YEAR FROM NOW. IT CAN’T COME SOON ENOUGH. CANDIDATES WILL COME HERE TO EARN YOUR VOTE. THE REST OF AMERICA WATCHING AND TRUSTING IOWA TO PUT THEM THROUGH THE TEST, TO ENSURE THEY ARE READY FOR WAR. IT IS WAR. IT IS WAR FOR THE FUTURE OF OUR COUNTRY, FOR THE SOVEREIGNTY AND SOLVENCY OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. THE OTHER SIDE, THE FAR LEFT, THEY SEE A NEED FOR CHANGE. IT IS BY OFFERING REAL CHANGE, AGAIN. CORONATION, RINSE, REPLAY. CLINTON RINSE REPEAT. THESE LEFTIST PROMOTING THESE READY FOR CAMPAIGNS, READY FOR HILLARY. WELL, THESE HOPE CHANGEY D.C. BUSINESSES DISGUISED AS GRASSROOTS, DON’T YOU WONDER WHAT THE WHITE HOUSE THINGS OF THEM OUT THERE PRANCING AROUND SQUEALING THEY ARE READY FOR SOMEONE ELSE? THEY HAVE TO ADMIT IT EVEN.
[LAUGHTER] BECAUSE THEY KNOW THAT HE WHO WAS THE ONE, NOW WITH TEATIME ON THE MIND, HE IS SO OVER IT. AMERICA, HE IS JUST NOT THAT INTO YOU.
[LAUGHTER] THE $18 TRILLION QUESTION THOUGH IS, DO THE CANDIDATES THINK THEY ARE READY FOR REPRESENT ANY HOPE OR CHANGE? OR IS IT MORE OF THE SAME OLD STATE-ISM THAT WE SUFFER FROM? WHAT CAN WE DO DIFFERENTLY TO PUT AN ECONOMY ON THE SIDE OF THE MIDDLE CLASS, INSTEAD OF THE SIDE OF THEIR CRONY CAPITALISTS? WILL THEY WORRY MORE ABOUT SECURING OUR BORDERS AND LESS ABOUT SECURING A PRIMO TEATIME? HOW WILL THEY PROTECT OUR STANDING ACROSS THE WORLD WHEN THEY CANNOT PROTECT AN AMBASSADOR? WHEN WILL THEY LISTEN TO CONCERNS OF WE THE PEOPLE INSTEAD OF LISTENING IN ON OUR PHONE CALLS? HOW WILL THEY
[INDISCERNIBLE] WHEN WILL THEY LET US CONTROL OUR OWN CARE? WHAT WILL THEY DO TO STOP CAUSING OUR PAIN AND STOP STEALING IT AGAIN.
[APPLAUSE] WELL, IN OTHER WORDS, IS HILLARY A NEW DEMOCRAT OR AN OLD ONE? THE PRESS ASKS, CAN ANYONE STOP HILLARY? THIS IS DIFFERENT GO A CONCLUSION. IT IS TO SCARE US. A PANTSUIT CAN CRUSH PATRIOTS. THAT IS WHAT THIS IS ALL ABOUT. HEY IOWA, CAN ANYONE STOP HILLARY? YES WE CAN. IT STARTS HERE. IT STARTS NOW. FROM BACK COMES GOOD. THAT HAS BEEN MY MANTRA. FROM VERY BACKING COME VERY GOOD. AS WE LOOK BACK ON HISTORY, THE LAST TIME THAT WE SUFFERED UNDER SUCH AN OUT OF TOUCH PRESIDENCY, WE WERE LIFTED OUT OF BY A CHARISMATIC SOLUTION ORIENTED CONSERVATIVE WHO SO LOVED THIS COUNTRY AND PUT HIS FAITH IN HER PEOPLE. WE CAN’T HAVE HIM BACK. BUT WE CAN OFFER THAT STUDY, SMART, STIFF SPINED LEADERSHIP THAT REAGAN DID. TO GIVE THE PEOPLE REAL HOPE, NOW IS THE TIME FOR CONSERVATIVE COLORS, NOT ESTABLISHMENT HAIL PASTELS – PALE PASTELS.
[APPLAUSE] WE NEED TO ASK WHO CARRIES ON REAGAN’S LEGACY? WHO WILL LEAD OUR FREEDOM MOVEMENT TO BEGIN THE RESTORATION OF AMERICA? YOU ANSWER THAT BY MAKING THE GOP PRIMARY A COMPETITION, NOT FOREIGN NATION. OUR PARTY IS AT A CROSSROADS. MANY VOTERS – SOME IN MY FAMILY EVEN – THEY HAVE LOST FAITH IN THE GOP MACHINE. THEY ARE REGISTERING AS INDEPENDENCE. SO MANY VOTERS, INDEPENDENCE. THEY ARE LOOKING FOR PRINCIPAL AND PATRIOTISM OVER POLITICAL PARTY. THE GOOD NEWS IS, IN OUR PARTY,
[INDISCERNIBLE] THAT’S A GOOD THING. IT IS PRIMARY COMPETITION THAT WILL SURFACE THE CANDIDATE WHO IS UP TO THE TASK AND CAN UNIFY. THIS PERSON HAS TO. KNOWING WHAT THE MEDIA WILL DO ALL THROUGHOUT 2016 TO ALL OF US
, IT IS 20 THE TAKE MORE THAN A VILLAGE TO BE HILLARY.
[APPLAUSE] HERE IS HOW WE DO IT. WE GO ON OFFENSE. WE GO ON OFFENSE NOW. WE EXPECT GOP LEADERS IN D.C. TO GET ON OFFENSE. WE THE PEOPLE, WE REALIZE THIS IS MORE, IT IS WAR FOR THE SOVEREIGNTY OF THE UNITED STATES AMERICA. WE DON’T SIT ON OUR THUMBS THIS NEXT TIME WHEN ONE OF OUR OWN IS BEING CRUCIFIED, AND FALSELY ACCUSED OF WHATEVER THE HIT ACCUSATION OF THE DAY HAPPENS TO BE, RACISM, SEXISM, WHATEVER. IT IS ORWELLIAN OBSERVING HOW THAT WORKS, THAT RULE THAT THE LEFT EMPLOYEES. DISGUSTING CHARGES FROM THE LEFT
, REVERSE THEM. IT IS THEY WHO POINT A FINGER, NOT REALLY – THEY HAVE TRIPLED THE AMOUNT OF FINGERS POINTED BACK AT THEM. REVEALING THEY ARE THE ONES WHO REALLY DISCRIMINATE AND DIVIDES, ON COLOR IN CLASS, AND SEX.
[APPLAUSE] WE CALL THEM OUT AND WE DON’T LET THEM GET AWAY WITH IT. ON GENDER, THIS ONE, IT IS THEY WHO DECEIVE WOMEN. THEY SHACKLE THEM TO THE GOOD OLD BOYS RUNNING WASHINGTON, AND THIS PROMISE THAT THEY HAVE TO PROVIDE FOR THE LITTLE LADIES EVERY NEED BECAUSE THEY ARE THERE, A WOMAN IS JUST NOT CAPABLE. IT IS THE LEFT THAT DOES THAT. IT ISN’T THE RIGHT. IT ISN’T CONSERVATIVES. WE GO ON OFFENSE, AND WE REVEAL THE REAL WAR ON WOMEN, WITH TRUTH. BECAUSE WE CAN HANDLE THE TRUTH.
[APPLAUSE] WE GIVE BACK, AND WE GIVE HOPE. WE GIVE A REAL CHOICE. WE DON’T TALK IT, WE WALK IT. BY PROVING TO VOTERS WHAT WORKS. WE DO THAT BY SUPPORTING THOSE WHO HAVE ACTUALLY DONE THE JOB, WHO CUT GOVERNMENT, AND INCENTIVIZE THE PRIVATE SECTOR, AND NEVER COMPROMISE ON FREEDOM. LOOK AT THE CONSERVATIVE GOVERNOR. THEY ARE ACCOUNTABLE. THEY ADMINISTER. THEY HAVE THESE RESULTS ALL ACROSS THE UNITED STATES AND CONSERVATIVE GOVERNOR’S OFFICES THAT RESULTS CAN BE ARGUED. WE DON’T UNDERESTIMATE THE WISDOM OF THE PEOPLE WHEN WE ON OFFENSE GIVE THEM THE TRUTH, AND THE TRUE STATE OF THE UNION, ESPECIALLY SAYING YOUNG PEOPLE WHAT IS ACTUALLY GOING ON, AND TEACHING YOUNG PEOPLE THERE AIN’T NO SUCH THING AS A FREE LUNCH.
[APPLAUSE] THERE IS NO FREE COLLEGE. THERE IS NO FREE BIRTH CONTROL. THERE IS NO FREE PHONE. SOMEONE PAYS. SOMEONE ALWAYS PAYS. SO WE UNDO THAT LEFTIST THINKING AND TEACHING THE ENABLING. WE ENCOUNTER IT WITH EMPOWERING YOUNG KIDS AGAIN AND BRING THEM ON OUR SIDE, AND MAKE THEM KNOW TO GET A BUCK, YOU GET OFF YOUR BUTTS. WE TEACH THAT AGAIN.
[APPLAUSE] WE GET HONEST ON NATIONAL SECURITY. WE GIVE HOPE TO THE PEOPLE THAT WE NEED NOT, WE WILL NOT SUCCUMB TO EVIL. AS WE CALL IT AS IT IS. WE ADDRESS IT. THAT MUST BE, THAT 800 POUND ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM OF THE WHITE HOUSE, THE RADICAL LEFT WON’T EVEN NAME, WON’T EVEN NAME THE THREAT TO OUR WAY OF LIFE TODAY. WE WILL HIT IT AND NAME IT. IT IS ANY MUSLIM WHO WOULD CHOOSE EVIL, WHOSE LOYALTY TO A DEATH CULT PERVERSION IS SO DARKENED AND HAS DECEIVE THEIR SOUL THAT THEY ACTUALLY THINK THEY ARE WELCOME HERE, TO TRANSFORM HERE. NO. WHAT WE DO, WE STRENGTHEN OUR MILITARY. WE RESPECT OUR TROOPS. WE LET THEM, OUR TROOPS AND GATEKEEPERS, WE LET THEM TELL JIHADISTS, THIS IS OUR HOUSE, GET THE HELL OUT.
[APPLAUSE] AMNESTY. WE HAVE TO BE CANDID. PEOPLE DESERVE THE CANDIDATES. AMNESTY, NO. THE LEFT AND RHINOS, THEY WOULD REPORT THOSE WHOSE FIRST ACTION IS TO BREAK THE LAW? WE WIN WITH THE WONDERFUL IMMIGRANTS WHO HAVE BUILT THE COUNTRY LEGALLY, AND WE SECURE THEIR RIGHTS AND THEIR HEARTS AND OPPORTUNITIES. TOGETHER WE SHOW THE DESERVING MIDDLE CLASS THAT WE WILL BE DECIMATED UNDER THIS UNCONSTITUTIONAL EXECUTIVE AMNESTY. WE ALSO HAVE TO SCHOOL OUR PRESIDENT I GUESS ON THE RULES. HE DOESN’T JUST GET TO TRAMPLE OUR CONSTITUTION AND IGNORE CONGRESS JUST BECAUSE HE DOESN’T GET EXACTLY WHAT HE WANTS EVERY TIME HE WANTS IT. WITH ALL DUE RESPECT TO THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENCY, IT IS LIKE AN OVERGROWN LITTLE BOY WHO IS JUST ACTING KIND OF SPOILED, AND MOM, WE DON’T PUT UP WITH THAT, DO WE? OR – EITHER. IT REMINDS ME OF BRISTOL. SHE CAN TESTIFY TO THIS. SHE CAME HOME FROM PRESCHOOL AND HER CRUEL TEACHER, A SHARP WOMAN, WHOSE FAMILY HAD GONE FROM THAT COME FROM MEXICO, BRISTOL SAID HER MOTHER AND DAD ARE SO HAPPY THEY GOT TO COME TO AMERICA, AND THE DAUGHTER SHE BECAME A TEACHER. THEY ARE SO HAPPY. THEY LOVE THIS COUNTRY SO MUCH. THEY NAMED HER AFTER OUR COUNTRY. MY TEACHERS FIRST NAME IS LAND. I THOUGHT LAND? MAYBE A PALIN KID WOULD HAVE TO SUFFER THROUGH THAT NAME THE REST OF THEIR LIFE.
[LAUGHTER] BUT BRISTOL HASN’T GOT IT RIGHT. THE TEACHER’S REAL NAME WAS AMERICA. THE TEACHERS HAD NAMED HER AMERICA. I WAS EXPLAINING THAT TO BRISTOL. IT IS NOT LAND OR GLOBE. SHE TAUGHT BRISTOL, SO MANY KIDS, A LESSON THAT OUR PRESIDENT MUST ADMIT, WHEN STUDENTS WOULD WHINE ABOUT SOMETHING NOT GETTING THEIR WAY EXACTLY AS THEY WANTED IN THAT CLASS, SHE WOULD SING THIS LITTLE MANTRA, AMERICA SAID YOU GET WHAT YOU GET, AND YOU DON’T THROW A FIT. THAT IS WHAT OUR PRESIDENT MUST HAVE MISSED GROWING UP. THIS INSISTENCE, THIS LAWLESSNESS OF TRYING TO GET HIS WAY AND TRAMPLE OUR CONSTITUTION
. I WON’T EVEN GET INTO THE DETAILS OF EVERYTHING. BUT FROM DEBT, WHEN YOU ARE IN A HOLE YOU DON’T WANT TO BE IN THE FIRST THING THEY STOP DIGGING. I DON’T KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE LEADERS IN THIS COUNTRY WHO UNDERSTAND WE ARE IN A HOLE WE DON’T WANT TO BE IN AND THEY KEEP DIGGING. FROM DEBT TO ENERGY, PROVING THE INHERENT LINKS BETWEEN AMERICAN-MADE ENERGY AND PROSPERITY, AND ENERGY INSECURITY TO SOLUTIONS LIKE THE TAX THAT WE NEED, TO STOP THIS UNHEALTHY OBSESSION THAT WE ARE HEARING ABOUT, EVEN ON OUR SIDE OF THE AISLE, THE SUBJECTIVE INCOME GAP WE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE SO OBSESSED WITH, WE DON’T HAVE TO BE OBSESSED WITH IT. NOT WHEN EVERYTHING RISES TOGETHER. WITH CONSERVATIVE, PROVEN FREE MARKET PRINCIPLES THAT INCENTIVIZE PURSUING CAPITAL AND INVESTMENT FOR INNOVATION. IT RESULTS IN LASTING PROSPERITY FOR EVERYONE. AND TO STOP THIS OVERREACHING BUREAUCRACY WHICH WE GET ON OFFENSE. WE DRIVE IN SOLUTIONS AND WE BE BOLD. IT WAS HERE IN IOWA THAT I PUT FORWARD IN A SPEECH SOME YEARS AGO, I GUESS THEY DIDN’T LISTEN BECAUSE THEY DIDN’T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT, I SAID WHY DON’T WE DECENTRALIZE THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT? WE HAVE TO BE BOLD. MOVE WHAT IS REMAINING ACROSS THE COUNTRY TO THE PEOPLE. IS THERE IS THE – WITH THE END PACK UP THE U-HAUL. WHAT BETTER PLACE FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE THAN IN AGRICULTURAL COUNTRIES SO THEY SEE HOW POLICIES AFFECT THE FARMERS AND RANCHERS WHO FEED OUR COUNTRY? THINGS LIKE THAT. IT MUST CHANGE. THINGS MUST CHANGE FOR THIS GOVERNMENT. LOOK AT IT. IT IS NOT TOO BIG TO FAIL. IT IS TOO BIG TO SUCCEED. SO WE CAN AFFORD NO RETREADS, OR NOTHING WILL CHANGE. THE SAME POLICIES THAT GOT US INTO THIS STATUS QUO. ANOTHER WORD. STATUS QUO. THE MIDDLE CLASS, EVERYDAY AMERICANS ARE REALLY GETTING TAKEN FOR A RIDE. THAT IS STATUS QUO. GOP LEADERS, BY THE WAY, THE MAN CAN ONLY WRITE YOU WHEN YOUR BACK IS BENT. STRENGTHEN IT. THEN AMERICA WILL BE TAKEN FOR A RIDE.
– THEN AMERICA WON’T BE TAKEN FOR A RIDE. MAYBE JUST THE NEXT STANDING OF THEIRS AND THE NEXT ELECTION. WE ARE NOT IN THE MOOD TO GET POLICIES TO PASS BECAUSE THEY HAVE A PARTY INITIAL NEXT TO THEIR NAME. EVIDENCE OF THIS THAT IT IS NOT JUST US THINKING THIS, ACROSS THE COUNTRY. LOOK AT THE GOVERNOR’S ELECTED WITHOUT A MAJORITY OF THE VOTE. THAT IS THE RESULT ABOUT INDEPENDENT AND STRONG THIRD-PARTY CANDIDATES. IT IS AT ITS HIGHEST LEVEL IN THE LAST HUNDRED YEARS. ALASKA ELECTED A VERY STRONG CONSERVATIVE WHO FORMED AN INDEPENDENT TICKET TO PROVE THAT HE BE BEHOLDEN TO THE PEOPLE, NOT TO PARTIES, POLITICS THAT RESULT IN THE TITLES AND HIERARCHIES, AND PROBLEMS THAT COME WITH THAT. BE BEHOLDEN TO THE PEOPLE. IT IS THEIR RECORD THEN, NOT THEIR STANDING IN THE PARTY, BUT THEIR RECORD THAT NEEDS TO BE CONSIDERED. WE TELL THEM IF WE WANT A FIRED UP, UNIFIED BASE TO GET THE GOP OVER THE LINE, TO THWART THE LINES OF THE LEFT, AND THEIR POLITICS OF DESTRUCTION, WE HAVE TO CUT CANDIDATES WHO DON’T FIT THE BILL OF BEING BEHOLDEN TO THE PEOPLE.
[APPLAUSE] YOU SEE, WE WILL VOTE FOR THOSE WHO HAVE A RECORD TO PROVE IT. VOTERS OF ALL STRIPES ARE DESIRING SOMETHING TO VOTE FOR THIS TIME. FOR THEIR AMERICAN DREAM, NOT JUST AGAINST TIRED FAILED POLICIES. THEY WILL VOTE FOR THE AMERICAN DREAM FOR THEIR KIDS AND GRANDKIDS. WE HAVE TO BE CAREFUL GOING THROUGH THE PRIMARY PROCESS NOT TO MARGINALIZE ANY COMMONSENSE CONSERVATIVE. LET’S TAKE THE SIGN UP THE DOOR TO THE OVAL OFFICE, THE ONE THAT SAID NO GIRLS ALLOWED. TAKE THAT OFF THE WALL. AND, WE REMEMBER WHAT MARGARET THATCHER WOULD ALWAYS REMIND HER CONSTITUENTS, IF YOU WANT SOMETHING SAID, YOU ASK A MAN. IF YOU WANT SOMETHING DONE, YOU ASK A WOMAN. AMERICA IS READY TO GET STUFF DONE. WE TAKE THE BALL, AND WE DRIVE TO VICTORY. WE GET REAL HOPE WITH REAL SOLUTIONS GROUNDED IN TIME-TESTED TRUTHS. THESE SOLUTIONS THAT WILL BE BROUGHT TO YOU BY COMPETITOR WITH A RECORD TO PROVE IT. THEN, WE ARE READY FOR HILLARY. NOW, I’M READY FOR HILLARY. ARE YOU? ARE YOU COMING?
[APPLAUSE] IT WAS A FEW SUMMERS AGO, MY FINAL THOUGHTS HERE, A FEW SUMMERS AGO, AFTER A GREAT DAY WITH FRIENDS, AND FARMERS, AND FARM ANIMALS THROUGH IOWA STATE FAIRS, WE LOADED UP THE MOTOR HOME AND DROVE SOME HOURS OVER THE BORDER TO ILLINOIS AND STOPPED ALONG THE WAY THE BECAUSE MY DAUGHTER HAD NEVER GOT TO RUN THROUGH MAS IN A CORNFIELD.
– MAZE IN A CORNFIELD. THAT SHOWS YOU HOW EXCITING MY LIFE IS. HYPER AND HER LITTLE COUSIN GET TO RUN THROUGH THIS MAZE FOR THE FIRST TIME. IT IS LIKE THIS ALL AMERICANA THRILL FOR OUR FAMILY. DRIVING THROUGH THE SMALL TOWNS AROUND HERE THAT GLORIFY OUR NATION, WITH THOSE HOMES PROUDLY WAVING THE FLAG FROM THE PORCH. WE PULLED INTO DIXON AS WE CROSSED THE STATE LINE, AND WE TURNED ON A STREET. WE STOPPED AT A MODEST HOME, AND IT HAD A PAIR OF ROCKING CHAIRS ON THE FRONT ARCH, AND A NEIGHBOR CAME OVER AND TOLD US ABOUT THE HOUSE. THEY TOLD US ABOUT THE LITTLE BOY WHO USED TO LIVE IN THAT HOUSE. HIS FAMILY COULD NOT AFFORD THE HOUSE. THEY RENTED IT. THE LITTLE BOY HAD A LITTLE TINY VEGAN OFF THE FRONT OF THE HOUSE. THAT IS WHERE HE WOULD LISTEN TO THE RADIO. HE WOULD LEARN FROM THAT. HE PLAYED FOOTBALL IN THE FRONT YARD AND RIDE HIS BIKE UP AND DOWN THE SIDEWALK. JUST REAL LIFE. AS A TEEN HE WOULD WORK AS A LIFEGUARD ON ROCK RIVER WHERE HE STAGED [INDISCERNIBLE] AND HE GREW UP TO SAVE A WORLD FROM COMMUNISM. HE INSPIRED A NATION TO ONCE AGAIN BELIEVE IN ITSELF. THIS LITTLE BOY FROM HUMBLE BEGINNINGS THAT WASN’T THAT FAR FROM HERE, WAS OF COURSE RONALD REAGAN. HE NEVER FORGOT WHERE HE CAME FROM, THOSE ROOTS IN THE HEARTLAND, AND HIS STORY IS OUR STORY. IT EMBODIES THE AMERICAN DREAM. IT IS A DREAM THAT WE ALL MUST BE WILLING TO SACRIFICE, AND TO FIGHT FOR, NOW MORE THAN EVER. DREAMING THAT, LIVING IT. WORKING FOR IT. WE CAN MAKE SURE THE DREAM LIVES
, AND THAT WE KNOW THAT OUR BEST DAYS ARE STILL AHEAD. I HAVE EVERY CONFIDENCE THAT WHEN WE, WHEN CONSERVATIVES RISE TO THAT CHALLENGE, AND OFFER A REAL CHOICE, WE WILL HAVE A REVERSE OF SUCCESSFUL CONSERVATIVE LEADERSHIP LIKE REAGAN GAVE US. THE AMERICAN PEOPLE WANT TO BE INSPIRED AND BE… {transcript ends, quite possibly due to an act of a merciful God}

Capitalism or communism. And why??

Communism is an unattainable utopian ideal created without the human ego in mind and capitalism as it exists currently is a weak system to be manipulated by the wealthy resulting in an oligarchy and crony capitalist society. So… neither. I’m tryna come up with something better.

So why are you bashing Donald Trump? And why are you posting things like the KKK propaganda? He has dennounced the KKK many times and it is documented. I'm not defending Trump, however the establishment of both the Republicans and the Democrats have completely fucked this country up. It is time for a change and why not start at the top? I know he's not conservative by any stretch, but you watch and see that either Rubio or Cruz be his VP.

Gosh there is just… So much wrong with this it’s difficult to know where to begin. I guess I’ll just break it down sentence by sentence.

“So why are you bashing Donald Trump?”

Because he is in utterly deplorable excuse for human being and a disgusting fascist lunatic.

“And why are you posting things like the KKK propaganda?”

Are literal recordings of the actual interviews in which he actually spoke considered “propaganda” now?

“He has dennounced the KKK many times and it is documented.”

Really? It certainly isn’t in this video where he’s asked directly about it

And if you’re referring to his half assed “I disavow them, OK?” response (which I believe happened before this interview where he can’t even bring himself to say that much), give me a break. For comparison here’s how Reagan responded to a similar accusation:

”Those of us in public life can only resent the use of our names by those who seek political recognition for the repugnant doctrines of hate they espouse.”The politics of racial hatred and religious bigotry practiced by the Klan and others have no place in this country, and are destructive of the values for which America has always stood.”

Compare that to this exchange Trump had with a reporter:

TAPPER: Will you, unequivocally, condemn David Duke and say that you don’t want his vote or that of any white supremacists during this election?

TRUMP: Well, just so you understand, I don’t know anything about David Duke, okay? I don’t even know anything about what you’re even talk about with, uh, white supremacy or white supremacists. I don’t know, I mean, I don’t know. Did he endorse me? Or what’s going on because, you know, I know nothing about David Duke, I know nothing about white supremacists, and so you’re asking me a question that I’m supposed to be talking about people that I know nothing about.

TAPPER: But, I guess the question from the Anti-Defamation League is, even if you don’t know about their endorsement, there are these groups and individuals endorsing you, would you just say, unequivocally, you condemn them and you don’t want their support?

TRUMP: Well, I have to look at the group. I don’t know what group you’re talking about. You wouldn’t want me to condemn a group that I know nothing about. I’d have to look. If you would send me a list of the groups, I would do research on them and certainly I would disavow if I thought there was something wrong.

TAPPER: The Ku Klux Klan?

TRUMP: But you may have groups in there that are totally fine and it would be totally unfair, so give me a list of the groups and I’ll let you know.

TAPPER: Okay. I mean, I’m just talking about David Duke and the Ku Klux Klan.

TRUMP: I mean, honestly, I don’t know David Duke. I don’t believe I’ve ever met him. I’m pretty sure I didn’t meet him. I just don’t know anything about him.

Yeah. Real convincing.

“I’m not defending Trump”

Except for the fact that that’s exactly what you’re doing.

“however the establishment of both the Republicans and the Democrats have completely fucked this country up.”

And you think a crony capitalist who donated millions to the establishment Democrats and brags about bribing politicians and wants to increase surveillance, taxes, tariffs, and limit the 1st Amendment is the solution. Makes sense.

“It is time for a change and why not start at the top?”

Because the “changes” Trump wants go against the very foundation of American liberty. If you want to “change” into a fascist police state, be my guest. Just do it elsewhere.

“I know he’s not conservative by any stretch”

And yet here you are defending him.

“but you watch and see that either Rubio or Cruz be his VP”

What are your thoughts on Bernie Sanders

Well, I’d certainly prefer him to Hillary Clinton, who is an irresponsible war hawk and crony capitalist of the worst sort. But unfortunately, Sanders is not the peacenik many have hoped him to be.

He has a history of voting against wars (like Iraq) and civil liberties violations (like the PATRIOT Act) but then voting to fund and/or retain their provisions after the fact—so he gets to tout his high-profile initial vote while remaining a real participant in the expansion of American empire and surveillance state. He just did this in an interview this week, bragging about his Iraq vote while avoiding spelling out specific legal criteria for the use of military force. And his record on police misconduct, another issue where I might expect to find agreement, is similarly mixed.

I mention all this because libertarians, like me, who are very concerned with foreign policy and civil liberties issues often have an appreciation for far-left types (like Ralph Nader, for instance) whose opinions on those subjects overlap with our own—seeing them as allies even if we disagree on economic issues. “I may disagree with so-and-so on X, Y, and Z,” the thinking goes, “but at least he’s good on war issues.”

I’m totally down with that line of reasoning—we should applaud good policy wherever we see it—but for me Sanders’ good record is not enough to outweigh the bad. That’s not to discount some awesome stuff he’s said, like his criticism of the NSA and declaration that the drug war is a failure, but it is enough to keep me from supporting him.

My Problems with Trump and his supporters

I comment occasionally or often depending on how I feel that day on posts about Trump.  I sometimes get responses but rather then getting into an argument with someone as I have no way of knowing why they think the way they do I have decided to put down all my reservations and concerns to direct them to from now on.

To start at the beginning I thought it would be fun to have him around for a little while because of his stupid statements that demonstrate an emotional response but have nothing behind them I certainly did not think he would ever be taken seriously.

This is part of the problem he has been taken seriously by at least a 3rd of our party (hard to truly tell at this point).

First my reaction to that - naive I admit to but I really never thought we had this many bigoted people in our party - I was convinced that although odds are we had some they were mostly in the liberal camp (could still be true as polling is not quite convinced they are actually polling Republicans vs Liberals - so you see I still hold out hope).  Why do I say that - he makes the most outrageous statements about peoples/groups/races etc. and although I have admitted sometimes it can be a fun emotional response in reality one should be repulsed after 1 second and actual thought about what he said and what it really means. Since Obama has made race relations worse in decades here is a man on the Republican side willing to tag along and continue these sentiments - of course I am concerned and my question is why isn’t everyone.

We just went through 7 years of a narcissist who actually does not know anything about what is going on around him so a large group of people decide to follow another one because he says he is a Republican (barring the fact that he has never stated 1 conservative statement).  So now we have a group of populists that want the same thing for another 4-8 years - how on earth could that be productive for our country.  The bigger problems as I see it is that Obama is actually idealistic (sickly so with his fascist socialist belief system) but Trump has no ideals and only believes in himself and what he can get for himself (sounds like Hillary) so I am actually afraid that he could be worse and this is one of the reasons I am concerned about the Republican party.  If he is selected and he has no real platform - ideals then what do we stand for and since we have been in a losing battle for awhile (in my opinion) this could be the death knell for our party.

We could not stand Obama’s (and continuing to this day) “Hope and Change” just for the sake of change - nothing good here.  Now we have a sizable number of people swayed by “I will make America Great” because “I am a winner”.  Yes I can see how that makes the big difference.

Just like Obama he speaks without actually either knowing the truth/facts or just does not wish to acknowledge them.  I think in both it is more not knowing truth or facts because when you are that great you can create your own and don’t care what is true or not. Another serious concern for another 4 - 8 years of a Presidency.

And I was recently told that people that know him personally think he is really nice - a great guy.  I wonder how old that person is because that is exactly what they say about con men, many mobsters and other criminal types.  So I am looking for someone to respect and other then his poor coached children that is not something you hear at all.

Just like our current pompous President Trump does not take well to criticism  that is all we need as President - that will do well for relations everywhere.

Ok - let’s get a little more specific.

Trump exists not because of his great intellect or prowess in business but because he is good at the crony capitalist game - didn’t we used to think that was evil/bad/wrong?.  Now we are supposed to admire it?  He actually has made many poor decisions and is not looked at well within the business/investment world.  Why because he cheats and files bankruptcy so he comes out ok but because he plays the game his backers are the looser and then he makes statements about how they were bad people.  Very admirable. He has made poor investment choices his whole life - actually - Forbes did a study that showed money market funds would have yielded much higher returns then his choices - his whole career - again exactly what I want leading my country.  This is the person you want in charge of the Federal Budget?

He admits that he has achieved so much by buying politicians - oh again I say admirable.  He pals around with mafia (of course for anyone in casinos that might be a given).

The man is a womanizer and changes arm candy on a regular basis.  Is sorry his daughter is his daughter because he would love to date her and more - sick.  You can not say your respect women and be believed when all you are interested in is looks.  Although we have had many of these in the office of President most had the class to have a real wife and just everyone else on the side but this man is more concerned with the actual physical looks of the person by his side in public and I understand that his pre-nups are quite entertaining to read as to what they are allowed to say about him during and after the marriage - so I think that brings into question any comments made by previous wives.  Again very admirable.

The man has no real understanding of the Constitution (or its limits), economics (or the fact that government should not play a role - but that goes against crony capitalism - his mantra), free market/free trade.  He is against all the things conservatives were supposed to stand for and apparently so is a % of our party because the populism has creeped in and is not necessarily personally beneficial to them individually.  Everything about Trump is personally for him - never for anyone else let alone our country.

Study some of his personal business dealings (along with those of his Father) and you will find that he has been slum lord - implications of fraud/questionable activity. - certainly losing others money for them as long as he came out ok.

He can give no specifics other then some attorneys agree with me - I think that is always the case if you have some money to throw away.

There is no way this man can beat Hillary.  Common sense will tell you that this is a race for the Republicans to lose.  The majority of the country has become Independent as they do not wish to actually stand anywhere.  So Since I think a good percentage of those are liberal thinking people they will like Trump but when he goes head to head with Hillary he is going to look bad and his cute quips will not work then.  All the polls show he can not win - although we know that all polls have basically no meaning that this time - since he has the largest number of people against him and largest un-likability factors and his conduct will ensure that continues - even if you thought he was better then Hillary (not quite sure what logic that would be based on) he can not beat her and that is a sad statement in itself.

I will give him props for his ability to get the media - he has not had to spend much because he has gotten all this free media - and since we know that the majority is very liberal biased - maybe you should ask yourself why that is?  Is he just that good or does it work for them?  I am going to side with the fact that it works for them in the long run in getting an unpopular hack - Hillary- in the White House along with continuing to destroy the image of Republicans.

Well I could go on and obviously have - I do not keep articles at my fingertips like so many of you do (and I am always impressed) but I do read a lot and remember what I read.

Something to think about - Romney was a real businessperson with a true understanding of economics - free market - etc., but he was considered too liberal because of a health care package he did to avert a worse issue (which came into existence once he left office - and so many of you did no real research to determine actual facts regarding this issue) but now we can follows someone who has yet to spout a real conservative ideal or principle is is more liberal then most moderate liberals - please explain that to me.  I keep asking for any real conservative idea from Trump but as yet have not received an answer.

I will never vote for a Democrat but I also will not vote for Trump if he is the nominee - my respect for myself is far to great!

Thank you if you took the time to read this for allowing me to vent my very real concerns.
