critical hit cocktails

Walker’s Blood (The Walking Dead cocktail)

1 oz Bourbon
1 oz Blackberry Brandy
Coca-Cola (to fill)
1 splash Grenadine

Directions: Mix the ingredients in a highball glass. See the video below for more details.

The Walking Dead is back on television. As a native Atlantan, I had to make a drink inspired by the horrible walkers and the city that the TV series takes place in. The mix of southern ingredients and easiness of the recipe make the perfect recipe to drink at camp after a long day of gathering supplies and slaying zombies.

Bloody Tears (Castlevania cocktail)

4 Raspberries
1.25 oz Gin
1 splash Chambord
1 oz Lemon juice
1 oz Grenadine

Directions: Muddle the raspberries and add all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a coupe glass. The bits of raspberry seeds and fruit are the Bloody Tears. Ask your friends “what is a man?” and serve to the first person who answers correctly (answer: “a miserable pile of secrets”)

Happy Halloween! A vampire drink seemed appropriate for the occasion, so this episode Mitch will show you how to make Bloody Tears, a Castlevania inspired cocktail. Bloody Tears is one of the most recognizable songs in the series and a fan favorite. In fact, Songs of Adventure just covered it in their latest vlog! To go with this fantastic rendition, here’s the Bloody Tears cocktail for you to sip on. If you like this video make sure to subscribe to the Geek & Sundry Vlogs channel and tell us what your favorite video game song is in the comments.

Smaug’s Breath (The Hobbit shot)

1 part Goldschlager
1 part Fireball Cinnamon Whisky
1 splash Grain alcohol

In celebration of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug coming out in theaters today, I made a golden and fiery flaming shot inspired by Smaug. Check out the video below to see how it’s made.

Critical Hit Cocktails with Mitch Hutts #1: PK Thunder (Earthbound / Super Smash Bros. cocktail)

The first official episode of Critical Hit Cocktails, as part of the Geek & Sundry Vlogs, is live! Today being Gaming Day during YouTube’s Geek Week, I thought it would be fun to make an Earthbound cocktail. A bunch of you have asked for an easy cocktail to make (the Zelda drink on the last video was a bit complicated) and so here it is: The PK Thunder!

The Drunken Moogle’s Mitch Hutts is now a part of the Geek & Sundry Vlogs!

It is with great excitement that I announce to you all that I will be joining the Geek & Sundry vlog team! I am humbled and amazed by the support I received from people during the contest and I really can’t thank you enough. This opportunity has already been an amazing experience and I’m overjoyed to be joining a team of such talented and creative people.

A brand new episode will air every other week on Thursday, starting next week during YouTube’s Geek Week. I can’t wait for you to see some of the videos I have planned!

Much thanks and love,
