Imagine Savatar Killing You Instead of Iris

Warnings: death, stabbing, sadness

This was not requested

Team Flash had been working on ways to save Iris from Savatar for what felt like years. And nothing seemed to be changing the time line the way everyone wanted it to.

You came along a few weeks before the whole thing with Savatar began, and the team took an instant liking to you. Barry became like a brother to you, Caitlyn a sister and Cisco just wouldn’t stop flirting with you. So when your meta human powers were revealed, everyone thought that you had come into their lives at the exact time that they needed you.

Barry has his speed and Cisco can Vibe, whatever that is, but you, you don’t need to touch an object or person to see the future. Being a telepath has some upsides. The gift of sight, was a bit more of a curse.

You could see the future, but only in short time spans, and once you look at a moment you can’t see before and after the event.

Barry wasn’t going to ask you to look and see if their efforts were paying off. Only if you offered. Which you did, but you didn’t think as to what you would be seeing.

“God this is so weird,” you mumble knowing the team can hear you.

“What is?” Cisco asked.

“Seeing you guys here, but hearing you guys there.”

“What do you see (Y/N)?” Barry asked.

I see you talking to Savatar. Wait he just ran off. You’re looking around, I think for Iris or Cisco. Wait he’s back.“

"Does he have Iris?”

Should you tell him that Savatar is now holding you? He didn’t ask if he had anyone, just if he had Iris.

“No. He doesn’t.”

And you snapped out of the future.

Maybe you were wrong to not tell them that Savatar kills you instead, but they had been working so hard on saving Iris you couldn’t ask them to do anymore. That’s final, you’re not going to tell the team that you are going to die.

When the day came for Barry to face Savatar you were ready. You had left them all note saying why you didn’t tell them what you saw. That you were thankful for your time with them and that you care for them a lot, you even left one for Harry.

You were swept out of the lab and now are being held against Savatar’s armor, Barry was in front of you in his Flash suit, eyes wide.

“(Y/N)?” Barry asked with worry evident in his voice.

“I’m sorry.”

“You think you can change the time line, that you can save them all. I may not take Iris from you, but I will take one of them. She will do.” Savatar said and pressed his arm against your neck tighter than it was before. It was getting hard to breathe.

And then it wasn’t. Because Savatar dropped you.

Barry and Wally started chasing him around the city, while you were left on the ground. It was then you saw the blood staining the street. Your blood. Savatar didn’t kill you, but he managed to stab you pretty well. If you didn’t get back to STAR labs soon you were going to die from blood loss.

You pulled out your phone and pressed the panic button Cisco put on it.

A few moments later Cisco, HR, and Caitlyn stepped through a portal and carried you into the lab. By that time, you were unconscious.

A few days later everyone had found their letters, but you were still asleep. Cisco wasn’t leaving the med bay, Caitlyn wouldn’t stop checking your vitals every five minutes, Barry couldn’t sleep, Iris blamed herself, and Joe felt like he lost one of his kids, and Julian was just panicking.

Barry was out stopping a petty thief when you began to flat line.

“Bar, get back here! (Y/N) is flat lining!” Cisco yelled into the com unit.

Caitlyn was trying to stabilize you while Julian began CPR. Barry rushed into the room and froze.

He felt like his little sister was dying in front of him.

And then your heart picked up again. It was slow, but it was there, and everyone let out a breath.

You heart only beat for three minutes before you passed. But it was enough for you to get in all their minds and tell them that everything was going to be okay. That you would be fine, and maybe they will meet another you on another earth.

When you passed Julian was holding Caitlyn back as she tried to stabilize you again. Barry crumpled to the ground and cried, Iris and Joe were hugging and Cisco stood frozen, emotionless as he tried to process what just happened.

You were gone.

The Ring - a WestAllen drabble

The light from the moon peeked through the slight gap in their curtains, illuminating a diagonal line on their bed.

Iris was on her side, her naked body wrapped in Barry’s arms. She slowly regained control of her breathing as she traced lines on his chest. The light from the moon hit the ring on her finger and she smiled.

She held it up and out in front of them. Barry reached up and took her hand, bringing it back to his chest. He traced his thumb over the ring.

“Iris West-Allen,” he said softly.

“Mmm,” Iris replied. “I love the sound of that.”

She lifted her head off of his chest to look at him.

“I can’t wait to be your wife…” she said kissing him.

“…to bear your children,” she kissed him again.

“…to grow old in your arms,“ she said before laying her head back down.

His fingers kept playing with her ring. He brought her hand to his lips and kissed right above where the ring sat.

“I love you Iris…thanks for saying yes.”

Her eyebrows lifted in confusion.

“Did you really think my answer would be anything but?”

“I don’t know, if I’m being honest. There’s just so much uncertainty right now and I wasn’t sure if you’d think it was too soon or something.”

“Barry Allen, I would’ve married you yesterday. There’s no such thing as ‘too soon’ when it comes to being forever tied to you. We’ve basically been married for seventeen years anyway, who do you think we’re fooling?”

They both laughed.

“Still,” he said. “Thank you for wanting me as your husband. I’ll try to be the partner you deserve…and l’ll always take care of you.”

“We’ll take care of each other,” she said, kissing his still slightly damp skin.

She wiggled her hand free from his and brought it closer to examine the ring.

“It’s beautiful babe…and I feel so honored to wear it.”

He turned on his side, bringing his body as close to hers as he could. His forehead rested against hers and his hand wrapped around her waist.

She let herself feel the warmth of his embrace and pulled her arms in tight to her chest. Her right thumb ran endless circles around her ring.

She couldn’t remember what it felt like to not have it on and even though it had only been about an hour, it was a part of her. Something her body now needed, would forever need.

She closed her eyes tightly, a tear escaping, and dreamt of what her life would be like as Iris West-Allen.

Void - a WestAllen fic

Cold and grey.

A constant drum.

The sound of water hitting the windows.

The light of day escaped their room, slowly being replaced by the darkness of night. Shadows skipped around, trading places, as the sun and moon shifted in the sky.

The air was thick. Too thick.

Neither one of them spoke out loud, but their minds shared a quiet conversation of the thoughts they dared not speak.

Twenty eight days.

Twenty eight sunrises and twenty eight sunsets.

Twenty eight mornings left until the spot beside him would be empty.

He tried to stay positive, but he was hollowing out. With every day that passed and brought the day closer, another piece of him broke off. Another piece of what made him whole, that filled him up, was lost to the nothingness that waited for him.

Twenty eight days.

She was still as he held her in his arms.

He could feel her body tense, her heart beating against his chest just a little bit faster than before.

“I need you to promise me something.”

She sat up, turning her face towards him.

He closed his eyes.

He knew what was coming. He knew the impossible things she was about to ask of him and hoped that shutting his eyes would somehow block it all out. That he could hide behind the thin veil of skin that kept him from seeing, protecting him from the words that were about to pierce through the air.

Her voice was warm and soft like honey, dripping with a heartbreaking sweetness. Quietly begging him to not make this any harder for her.

She turned her body, bringing her legs underneath her. Her hand reached out for his face.

“Bear…please…let me see those beautiful eyes of yours.”

He slowly and reluctantly opened his eyes.

The way the soft light from the windows hit her dark hair and her white nightgown made her look ethereal. Like an angel whose sole purpose was to bring comfort and light to the blackest of nights, to warm the coldest of hearts, to bring life back after death had taken everything away.

He sat up too and placed his hand on top of hers.

She looked down for a moment and he saw her grip at their sheets with her other hand. A moment passed and then her eyes met his with a sadness that made his stomach drop.

“Take care of them for me? Dad and Wally I mean. I need you to not run away from them. My dad won’t survive losing both of us, so you have to promise me you won’t leave him.”

His head moved down in one gentle nod.

“And don’t give up on Wally. He might spin out of control a little bit over this. He’ll need you to ground him and keep him focused. He has the potential to be great, so make sure he knows that, ok?”

He nodded again.

She let her hand fall from his face. She bit at her lip and shakily took a deep breath in, her hands resting in her lap.

The words got caught in her throat as tears slowly streamed down her face.

“I…I need you to not break. I need you to keep living, to be the brave, strong and selfless man that I know you are.

I know this will hurt you. That the ache in your bones will never fully go away, but let it always remind you that I’m with you.”

She grabbed his hands in hers, but kept her eyes down.

“I need you to let yourself move on. Your heart is so big and you have so much love to give, you have to promise me you won’t keep it for yourself. You have to give it away. You have to let yourself fall in love and be happy. Find someone who can make you whole again. Make new memories and write a new love story for yourself….have babies.”

Her voice cracked.

“You will make a wonderful father someday Barry. Don’t deny yourself that because I’m gone.”

She moved her body closer to him.

“I love you with my whole heart. You are the great love of my life and I will treasure that always and take it with me. Please don’t let this ruin you, it’s not what I want. You have to promise me you’ll wake up every morning and be the best version of you that you can be. Promise me.”

His eyes closed again, his face wet with tears. He gave her another nod, his head hanging low.

She sat in his lap and rested her head on his chest.

“I know neither of us wanted to have this conversation, but we had to. We can’t let things go unsaid…not now.”

“I know,” he whispered.

His voice was weak and barely audible amongst their crying.

He squeezed his arms tightly around her body.

“I’m gonna miss you so much.”

He buried his face in her shoulder, his body shaking from the angry sobs that made their way out.

She pulled herself away enough to take his face in her hands. Her thumbs softly wiped at his tears before she kissed him.

It felt final, like they had both finally come to terms with the reality of what lay ahead.

The reality that these next twenty eight days could really be her last twenty eight days.

They repositioned themselves so that they were laying down again, the shadows in their room now uninviting in the darkness.

Cold and grey.

The light from the street lamps below not offering any real warmth to their room.

The rain echoed off the buildings and windows.

The air was still thick, but their minds were no longer crowded with words left unsaid.

Now there was nothing.

Nothing but waiting and hoping and counting the days.

They held on tightly to twenty eight.

anonymous asked:

Hey can I request for an s/o who is from Niflheim, how would the chocobros react? Are they a spy? Generic citizen? Migrated from Lucis since its education system is better?

This has got to be the hardest one yet, I absolutely suck at politics in Eos, and went through like 4 scenarios with Noctis, but I think they came out okay. (Squints at Noctis’ story suspiciously) ٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و

“Y/n did you get hit in today’s hunt?” Noctis called standing behind you.

You flinched, your hair was pulled into a ponytail as it was so humid that you couldn’t do anything with that friz of a mess. Yet it left your neck exposed, and he must have seen it.

“No, that’s old.”

Prompto tilted his head, “I don’t recall ever seeing it.”

“I normally wear collars, or my hair down. Let’s just stop talking about it.” You muttered, glancing away from the others to stare into the fire.

“It looks…”

You jumped from your chair as you felt Noctis’ fingers brush against the wound on the back of your neck. Knocking it over as you back away from the man, almost into the fire, if both Ignis and Gladiolus didn’t grab a hold of you in time.

“Y/n, are you okay?” Noctis asked.

You fidget with your hands, glancing toward Noctis before looking away, before sighing heavily, “No, it’s about time I told you.” You muttered, as you turned your back to Noctis, lifting your shirt to show the large burn upon your back leading to the  black mark on your neck, using your shirt to wipe away the make up, revealing a Niflhiem brand.

“I was…I was originally sent to you as a spy, when I rejected to harm your family, I was made an example of. I’m a trader to my home.” You stated head lowered, waiting for the others reaction.

“When did this happen?” Prompto asked.

“I was a kid.” You shook your head pulling back down your shirt, before turning to look to Noctis, lowering yourself to your knees, before lowering your head, “I do not have a home and I can no longer ask for you to turn a blind eye,” You moved your ponytail off your neck. “Noct,” You quickly corrected yourself, “Noctis, I’ll never be able to apologize enough, and I’m willing to take whatever punishment you see fit.”

Moments passed, yet the Prince did not move, only to do so, as you summoned a knife, bringing it to your neck. Only to have it fly from your hand by a swift slash of Noctis’ sword.

“Noctis, please!” You begged, “Allow me to die with some honor!”

“You gave your life to me.”

You froze, the night you finished your KingGlavie training, you made a promise to the man before you, that your life would forever be his. No matter what future they would come against, bringing your hands to your face, you couldn’t help but cry. “Noctis.”

A warm hand rested on your head, as Noctis knelt before you, “It’s fine.”

“Thank you…”

“I hate this place.” You muttered, rubbing your hands on your shirt. “Everything always felt so heavy.”

“Right, your  Dad is  from Niflheim.” Prompto stated, as you maneuver the group through old battle worn streets, avoiding MTs by moving out the marching zones. “You’re pretty good at this.”

“Had to be.” You called over your shoulder, ducking in an alleyway, “How else did you think I got out?”

“You escaped?” Ignis inquired, as you nodded.

You braced your back against a building glancing around, before smiling, “Gladio, mind giving me a lift?” You called, as the large man gave you a boost up to a fire escape, lowering the ladder for the others to climb after you.

“Are you sure this is the best way to get through the city?” Noctis asked, as you pulled the ladder up behind Ignis.

“Only way without getting shot by MTs and having them call in reinforcements.” You explained, as you turned to the window of the fire escape you were on. Pressing your face against the glass, seeing the place abandoned. “And since this is a border town, we need to be as careful as possible, I’m still registered under my birth Father’s name, so if I get caught I’m screwed. Stand back.”

Summoning one of Prompto’s guns, you slammed the butt of the pistol against the window, creating a small enough hole to reach our hand in to unlock the window, before sliding it up as you crawled in.

“Dude, your girlfriend’s so much cooler than you.” Noctis chuckled, to Prompto, as you opened the Fire escape door.

“I know.” Prompto cooed, as they all entered the dark building flashlights coming on.

“What is this place?” Gladiolus asked, as you by passed a couple of desks.

“It was a car factory, but they closed it down, when they shut down the town. We’re going to head down to the basement and use the underground tunnels to escape. MTs, at least the defective ones around here dont fair well in water, makes them slow, and rusty. We can get to the base that has your Dad’s car that way.” You explain leading them through the dark hallways of the building by your flashlights.

“Any idea of how long that will take?” Noctis asked.

“No idea,” You replied, “The base they took the Regelia to is about 2 hours south from where I left. I traveled at night in the back of a truck to get here, and then hightailed it across the border.”

“Would this place have any blueprints?” Prompto asked.

You puckered your lips, “Maybe…They’d be in the basement if anything.” You reply opening a staircase, stating you were all on the 3rd floor, as your group managed getting to the basement door, finding it locked.

“We could break it down.” You replied, kneeling before the lock.

“What if there’s an alarm on the other side?” Noctis asked, no one really wanted to fight MTs in a basement of a old car factory.

Prompto placed a hand on your shoulder, “Why don’t you just pick the lock, sweetie.”

You flushed, “Because I didn’t want them to know that I can do that.” You muttered, as you removed a bobby pin from your hair.

“Have to state, a lot of your unsavory skills have come in a pinch today.” Ignis replied.

“Thanks?” You question, hearing the click of the door.

“Is everyone in Niflheim trained in this kind of stuff?” Noctis asked, as you all descended the stairs into the basement of the factory.

“I’m the only one, I know of.” You shrugged, glancing around, before pointing to a draining hole cover. “We get in there and we’re as good as gone.”

Everyone jumped as they heard what could only be MT footsteps echoing on the floor above you, and they appeared to be going toward the stairs.

“Looks like we’re going in blind.” Noctis replied, as Gladiolus removed the cover easily, before being lowered in by the shield. Quickly followed by Ignis, than Prompto, who had called out to you to hurry up, as you ran over shutting the door, and busting the lock before rushing back over to Gladiolus, who lowered you down with the others.

“What did you do?” Prompto asked, as you all begun to looked around trying to get your bearings Gladiolus jumped down after you.

“Broke the lock.” You shrugged nonchalantly.

Gladiolus chuckled as he rubbed your head, “We should have had you tag along from the get go, you’re full of surprises. Where you been hiding this one Prompto?”

“Dude can you not.” Prompto groaned, taking your hand.

“What can I say, I hate Niflheim.” You laughed.

“Big sis!” Iris called, as she stepped around the MT, breaking it’s arm, before slamming into its back, while you rushed forward, slamming a fist into the husk of an android chest .

“Got ya!” You called, as Iris leapt off the magic soldier, you grabbed her hand, spinning her around, to kick at the other soldier attempting to attack you from behind, snapping its neck, as you tossed the younger sibling in the air, before delivering a well placed kick into its chest, as Iris landed beside you.

“Awesome!” Iris and you cheered , as you both double fived each other.

“You two want to save something for the rest of us?” Gladiolus chuckled.

“Ladies first, baby.” You wink to Gladiolus, only to gasp, as you quickly grabbed Iris, before throwing her to Gladiolus, shrieking as a bullet from a downed MT struck you through the chest.

“Y/N!” Gladiolus and Iris called, rushing over to you, as Prompto shot through the creature.

“Babe are you okay?”

You grunt, as you tried setting up to see where the bullet hit you only to collapse back to the ground, “Fuck, Gladdy which side?”

“Your right.”

“Bitch!” You barked, “Shoulder, Rib? My entire arm is numb on that half.”

“Upper shoulder.” Gladiolus stated, as he pulled out a potion, only for you to wave it away.

“Big sis, I’m sorry” Iris cried, as you reached up with your left hand, pushing her hair from her face.

“I’m fine, Iris, I promise.” You smiled, only for your right hand to seize up, as you grunted heavily. “I hate when that happens. Gladiolus, can you get Ignis, I’m going to need one of his daggers.”

As the others crowded around you, you hissed as you allowed Gladiolus to help you up to a sitting position, realizing that the bullet didn’t go through your shoulder as you removed your jacket. Wrapping your arms around Gladiolus’ shoulders, crawling into his lap to use a base while Ignis stood behind you. Reaching out to Iris, as you held the younger siblings hands tightly.

“I do apologize if I cause more discomfort.”

“You’re sweet to worry, Ignis, but it’s fine.” You replied, as you stared into Iris’ eyes. “Iris, don’t worry, I told you I’m fine.” Only to flinch as you felt Ignis remove the bullet, “That never stops hurting.”

“Babe, you’re not bleeding.” Gladiolus replied.

“That’s good, it means it didn’t hit a nerve, and we don’t have to waste a potion.” You replied, as you released Iris’s hands, reaching for Ignis dagger. “You mind lighting it?”

“I need to fry the wires and close the holes before I get dirt or water in it.” You respond.

You gave a soft huff, “I didn’t really want this known, but my shoulder is made of MT parts.” You explained.

“MT parts?” Prompto inquired, as you took the flaming dagger from Ignis.

A grunt of pain escaped as you burned the flesh close with the tip of the knife before repeating to the area Ignis had dug the bullet out, “That never gets easier, thanks.” you call to Ignis, your attention turning back to Gladiolus as he turned you to face him.

“Y/N, explain.”

“I…what’s the best way to explain this, when I was a little kid, I was abducted by Niflheim, as a kid with limited family, I was the perfect candidate to be used as a MT with a human base. We were suppose to be used as spies within the kingdom, but unfortunately for them it didn’t work, many of us were killed, the few of us that did escape, are stuck with these messed up parts.” You explained, as you rolled your shoulder, only to gasp as you felt Iris jump into your lap.

“Big sis! Are you sure that you’re okay?”

“I promise you, I’m fine, lucky it hit my shoulder and nothing else.” Only to gasp, as you ended up being stuck in an Amicitia bear hug. “Gladdy, Iris.”

“How much of your body is MT?” Noctis asked, as you peeked around the siblings.

“Only my shoulder. It shouldn’t cause any troubles since I closed it.” You replied, “I shouldn’t have kept it a secret, but people don’t really react to me stating that I have MT in me all too well. People can be harsh about it.”

“Y/n we would never think that, right Gladdy?” Iris cried looking up toward your boyfriend, as he turned you to him.

“Never.” He called, as he pressed his lips against yours.

“An airship? Really!” Prompto groaned, as the large aircraft landed before your group.

“Does it appear larger than normal?” Noctis called.

“Should we regroup and try to…Oh and they’re going head on.” You muttered, watching as the others rushed onto the field. Giving a sigh as you summoned a lance, following after them. Only to stop as you stared at the make and model of the MT. “Ignis!”

“These aren’t normal MT, they’re an order model remade with higher specs, so they’re going to be tougher to break through.” You call, as you vaulted over Gladiolus to strike an MT down.  Only for everyone to gasp looking up to see a Hurricane above.

“This is the last thing we need.” Gladiolus groaned, as the large creature swept down, knocking quite a few of the MT out the way. Yet more still came from the airship.

“Everyone regroup!” Ignis called, as everyone quickly circled around each other.

“What’s the plan Specs?” Noctis asked, as the MT’s begun picking themselves off the ground.

“We’re out numbered, and that Hurricane is not taking likely to us being so close to it’s nest.” You stated, glancing around.

“Y/N is right, should we focus on only one enemy, we’re bound to leave ourselves open to the other. We need a diversion to escape the Hurricane’s area.” Ignis stated.

You guys glanced toward one of the MT’s that had gotten knocked over, its helmet missing, a you saw the serial number. “I can get us out of this.”

“How?”Prompto muttered.

“We’ll have 20 minutes to gain distances but that’s if this works.” You stated stepping away from the group as all the MT’s eyes went to you. “Commander override, hostile airborne, protect. Over ride 1-2-2-4-Alpha. Hostiles are retreating south, southwest ”

The red eyes of the creatures, staring at you before all saluting, as they all turned about face and ran off in the opposite direction your group was headed.

“Let’s go.” You call, your eyes locking with Ignis before you glanced away, too ashamed to look at any of them.

To keep everyone safe for the night, you all found a motel to crash in, you had opted to stay within the room to shower, while the others went to find something to eat in town. Only to be brought from your thoughts as you heard the door open, yet not the familiar noise of everyone.

“Ignis, I…”

“You don’t need to explain to me what happened.”

You sighed heavily, “I do, I was, how to put this, learnt, brainwashed, forcibly educated to become a commander for the MTs as my parents did. Top of my class, two years early. On my first mission, I…I froze, I called off the attack, self destructed my units. I became a disgrace, I didn’t know what to do, so I changed my last name and moved to the outskirts of Insomnia, I slowly attempted to forget my old life, but I guess…that was too much to wish for.”

You waited for Ignis to say something, yet instead found the man, moving to sit beside you on the bed, placing a hand over your own.

“Your past does not define who you are, my love, I love who I’ve met, and know.”

You moved closer to the man, resting your head against his shoulder, as his arm wrapped around you.

I want you guys to imagine all of this.

Imagine Gladio using Iris in his early workout days.

  • Iris with a megaphone, yelling encouraging and also dorky things at Gladio. Clarus looks on in amusement, trying desperately not to laugh. Gladio claims that it bothers him but it actually helps him a lot, motivation-wise.
  • Noctis and Ignis are sneaking around the palace one day when WHOOSH, there goes Gladio, rolling Iris around in a wheelbarrow at high speeds. They’re gone before Noct and Iggy can even begin to comprehend what just happened.
  • Iris sitting on Gladio’s back while he’s doing push ups. Gladio jokingly collapsing when she climbs on, “Six, Iris, what have you been eating? You’re so heavy!"
  • Iris joining in on Gladio’s workouts. Imagine them both in sweatpants.
  •  Sweaty bear hugs.
  • ^"Ewww, Gladdy stop it, you’re all gross!"
  • ^^"Hug monsters have no mercy!!"
  • Sparring together. Gently. Gently sparring together. (One time Gladio hit a lil too hard and Iris cried and he almost made her quit but she was like "um haha no. I will get better” and he couldn’t say no to that face)
  • They have competitions as to who can do the most squats, pushups, longest wall sits, etc.
  • Morning jogs that turn into races.
  • Gladio jogging with Iris on his back.
  • Clarus has so many pics of the two of them, like candids and also a whole bunch where they’re standing next to each other and flexing their Big Muscles™
  • Iris helping keep time and keep count, so Gladio can focus on what he’s doing and not have to worry about keeping track of results.
  • Iris making Gladio little mid-workout snacks. Fruit cups! Along those lines, Iris acting as the hydration team.
  • One time they’re sparring together and Iris just vaults up his greatsword and knees him in the face and he’s just out cold and she immediately is really upset because “OH MY GOD DID I KILL HIM” but Clarus reassures her that he’s just unconscious. When Gladio wakes up Iris expects him to be upset but he grins like “THAT WAS AMAZING. MY LITTLE SISTER CAN KICK BUTT.” (though he hopes to never be on the receiving end again)
  • Tending to each other’s exercise injuries. (Gladio hates ice baths)
  • Gladio benchpressing Iris.

Just. Please imagine all of this.

Flash fans.

Im sure that by saying that I speak for most of the fandom

no matter who’s your favorite character, who’s your otp, or your NOTP, what’s your favorite season, who’s your favorite villain or what’s your favorite scene; you cried about iris.
you cried for barry who lost her, no matter if you ship them as a couple or just love them as friends. You cried for the boy who held his childhood best friend when she died, the boy that will spend the rest of his life blaming himself for not saving her.

You cried for wally, you cried for a boy who lost his sister and couldn’t even say goodbye to her.
You cried for caitlin (not kf), cisco, HR and even julian, who lost their friend.

And most importantly, you cried for joe, a father who lost his daughter, the same daughter that he raised by himself, the same girl he saw growing up, falling in love, the same one that he taught to walk, talk and use the bathroom. the wonen that once was 5 years old and probably asked him to watch a Disney marathon with her, the same daughter he wouldn’t get to see marrying and having her own family.
You cried for the same man who saw his little princess dying in front of him and couldn’t save.

no matter if you love iris and westallen or prefers cait and snowbarry, no matter if you thought she was the definition of feminism or you thought she wasn’t more than barry’s girlfriend.
You cried because you’re human, you cried for one of our princess.

You cried so hard that day. Iris was worried for you, she worried about the child that was growing inside of you. She was the only one who knew, you had told her the other day, hoping to tell Wally… the day… the day he left. You had practically made yourself sick. Iris took it upon herself to watch over you after that. She had told the others about you and Wally, and….

The rest of the Team had taken it fairly well. They were happy, and when you were done grieving, you were too. Iris and Barry had come with you to all your ultrasounds, all the doctor appointments, and all the parties and celebrations that your well-meaning friends and family put on your you. The gender reveal had been one of your favorite memories from that time. You’d set up a little party at Wally’s grave stone. No one had ever come back from the speed force, and you had long accepted that.

There was a cake with back icing covering it. You had on a blue shirt and a pink skirt, you were silently hoping for a boy but cool with whatever the baby turned out to be. Iris was wearing all pink but while Barry wore all blue. Different family members matched them. The girl members of the Team wore pink while boy members wore blue. Dick had been a lifeline to you, keeping you company when Iris and Barry couldn’t. As were Megan and Artemis, who made a point to have dinner with you weekly.

You were excited as you cut into the cake and pulled out a white cake with a pink middle. Those wearing pink cheered extra loud, but those in blue were pretty happy too.

But that had been about one year ago, and little Willow was a happy baby, strong and healthy. Auntie Iris and Uncle Barry adored her. The team had regular schedule playdate when you needed mommy time with Auntie Artemis and Auntie Megan. She was always hungry and you are a bit worried she’d inherited her daddy’s powers. But Dick tried to calm you, saying her powers wouldn’t develop until she was a teenager. Barbra had to stop him from further angering Mama Bear.

You were currently at the park, your daughter sitting on a blanket, messing around with some toys while you enjoyed a lunch outside of the apartment for a change. You felt a familiar whoosh of wind on a partuicraly still day, and turned, “Oh hi Uncle Bar-“

The words dies on your lips as you looked at Wally. You abruptly stood, not completely understanding what was going on. Wally stared at if you, wondering if you were real. If you were actually standing right in front of him. You were wondering the same thing, what if he was some illusion or… You threw caution to the wind as you jumped forward and hugged him, “Wally?” You whispered, in fear that he wasn’t real, that this was a dream and you would wake up without him there, despite your arms surrounding him.

Wally’s strong arms wrapped around you and you let out little sob. Willow was unhappy with being ignored and a strangers presence. She let out a few little shrieks and whimpers and you immediately release Wally. You turned and picked her up, a bit, wet smile on your face. Willow looked at Wally in wonder, and he looked at her in surprise and in awe. “Is she…?”

You nodded, “I was going to tell you… but… “

Wally didn’t force you to speak more, he stood next to Willow and ran his hand through her dark hair that matched him own. “What’s her name?”

“Willow.” You said, a lump in your throat, “Willow West.”

Willow then realized who was standing before you, you had taught her Moma and Dada, and showed her multiple pictures of her father. She let out happy squeal and pointed at him, “Dada!”

Tears were in Wally’s and your eyes as the two of you hugged with Willow in-between you, “Yes,” Wally cooed to her, “Yes, I’m Dada.”

“Moma, Dada, yay!” Willow cheered, “Moma, Dad, Whoopie!”
