Two karateka throwing Ura-Mawashi-Geri (Spinning Hook Kick) simultaneously, with one landing for a knockout.
In the slow-mo, the bald fighter seemed to have thrown it at a shallower angle (almost like a crescent kick) while his opponent threw his wider. They got their kicks off pretty much at the same time, but the one that landed had much less distance to travel, which let it reach the opponent’s face sooner.
Having less distance does mean a weaker kick, but the bald fighter is bigger, so he has more mass to put into it, making it enough to put the other guy’s lights out.
I’m not an expert; that’s just my two cents on it.
GUESS WHAT I PASSED MY FIFTH GRADING I’M NOW A YELLOW BELT AWW YISS.
That was the toughest grading so far - I had to spar 3 different people for 3 minutes each - so by the last 3 mins, I had a fresh opponent and I was dead. I scored some good points though and I loved every second fighting my pals Matt, Dom, and Shelley.
I’m bleeding, I’m grazed, and I nearly had a panic attack when I couldn’t breathe, but I ignored everything and pushed on. I’m so chuffed with how it went.
My examiners said my jump reverse crescent kicks were the best they’ve ever seen and they gave me the highest score they’ve ever given. Always something I can improve on, and I’m chuffed with the feedback I got. Now onto purple belt!
Bad luck may come in threes, but good luck does as well… new car, new job, new belt. Happy ♥♥
