This Will Destroy You - Another Language (2014)

I had the honour of seeing this premier post-rock outfit live a few weeks ago, and they’re every bit as good live as their previous records are landmarks in the post-rock genre. The band has made a strong effort ever since their debut to expand upon and in many ways reinvent typical crescendocore, and this album follows along on the same path, expanding upon the more ambient and droney sounds of their last album. It’s a good album, to be sure, and it’s a must listen for any post-rock fan, but it doesn’t reach the greatness of previous works if you ask me. Still, I’d recommend it. With reservations.

Listen on WiMP.
