A while, I’ve always been interested since I first heard about it back in elementary school, but I never realized how deep my interest could get until over the summer.
2: When and how did you first hear about it and how old were you when you did?
I don’t even know to be honest, an anti-bullying thing back in grade 4 maybe. I heard about it before but didn’t pay attention. I was a weird kid. I was two when it happened but that doesn’t really matter as I actually do my research on the subject.
3: What first made you interested in it?
I like researching murderers & stuff, and the case just drew me in.
4: Explain your obsession in depth, if you have/had one.
Gah, okay well it depends. I mean, I’m more interested in and finding out as much as I can and staying up all night comparing sources upon sources of information and writing essays. I do also enjoy just talking about scenarios and such about Eric and Dylan. I feel a connection of sorts with them and an understanding. I feel as if I can sort of grasp why they did it as I am bullied myself. I don’t want to go shoot up my school, but I know what it’s like to feel like there’s nothing to lose.
5: How old were you on 4/20/99?
6: What were you doing on 4/20/99?
I have no clue, napping?
7: Who do you prefer, Eric or Dylan, and why?
Dylan, I feel like I can connect with him better. I share some of the same thoughts as them both, but I feel as if I am a lot more like Dylan which makes me prefer him I guess.
8: Who do you think you are most like, Eric or Dylan, and why?
9: What is your favorite band out of the ones that they listened to?
KMFDM and NIN.
10: What’s your favorite movie inspired by Columbine?
Zero Day. Unless you count Zero Hour but that’s more of a documentary/re-enactment I’d say.
11: How would you have felt if you had attended Columbine when Eric and Dylan went on their shooting spree?
Fucking scared shitless for sure. No doubt about that, but I’d try and keep hope. I’m religious so I guess I’d keep that in mind too. I don’t know, not many people like me now so maybe I’d understand if that were the case for me then as well. Not condone, but understand just as I do now.
12: Do you have a favorite victim? If so, who is it and why are they your favorite?
Cassie or Rachel. I don’t know, I just feel like I can relate to them. I’m Roman Catholic, but I’m tied to my faith. I just really like how they sounded as people from what I’ve read and I feel as if they would have made it far in life and such. I feel for their families, especially Rachel’s because of Craig. He had the balls to speak out numerous times and he still does (he spoke about Sandy Hook for instance) and that amazes me.
13. Do you have a favorite survivor? If so, who is it and why are they your favorite?
Again, it’s a tie. Richard because he’s a beast, and Patrick because of how much he survived through. He really shouldn’t have lived through getting shot twice in the head like that. (sorry I had to keep this because I totally agree)
14: Have you ever purchased anything in the name of Eric and/or Dylan?
I have a ‘WRATH’ and 'NATURAL SELECTION’ shirt that I used for Halloween and a school play. I may purchase other things if I happen to find some.
15: Are there any other school shooters, mass murderers, or serial killers you are interested in?
Seung-Hui Cho, James Holmes, Ted Bundy, Charles Manson, Richard Ramirez, if you want to count the Dnepropetrovsk Maniacs then yeah I’m interested in them, and a bunch of others. As I said before I spend my time researching these things so.
16: Can you picture you being friends with Eric and Dylan if you had known them?
Uh, yeah to be honest. I don’t know, at times I think they’d think I’m annoying like everyone else does but who knows. I hang around people who remind me of them&their friends so I mean.. I guess we would probably be associated with each other and maybe have been friends if I had known them.
17: Would you want to attend Columbine or have attended Columbine when you were in high school?
Maybe, but I mean, who really cares so.
18: If you could say one thing to Eric and Dylan, what would it be?
”I wouldn’t say a single word to them, I would listen to what they have to say, and that’s what no one did.”
19: If you could say one thing to the people they killed, what would it be?
“I’m sorry it happened to you. You didn’t deserve any of it.” I’d say it to the injured, too. Except Evan Todd. (this response)
20: How do you feel about Brooks and his parents?
I’ve got nothing against Brooks, although I’ve heard he can be quite the liar. I don’t believe everything he says, y'know. He seems like a good guy, and his parents seem alright. I mean, I don’t know them personally so. Brooks book is really good though.
21: Have Eric and Dylan changed/affected your life? If so, how?
Yeah, well, no but yeah. I mean, they’ve expanded my views on things but I’ve always had an open mind and I’ve always felt how I felt. I don’t know.
22. Can you imagine yourself doing what they did?
No, I couldn’t bring myself to do it.
23. Do you condone what Eric and Dylan did?
No, but I do understand what would push them to do it…. (Same)
24: What do YOU think would have happened to Eric and Dylan if Columbine never happened?
I have different scenarios I play around with. Either Dylan would have went to Arizona and that would’ve helped him or it would’ve ended in suicide for him. For Eric, I really don’t know. I mean, he didn’t get accepted into the Marines but maybe he could’ve found something.
25: Would you have preferred it if Eric and Dylan had not killed themselves and instead have gone to jail?
No, they wanted to die and be at peace after what they did. It would be cool to hear what they had to say but it was a mission. Go in. Kill. Die.
