creative looks

Alright… I have the basic design down for these guys ouo

Now, you can decide their genders if you want (except for the calico, they’re never male) and if you want to switch the ‘genre’-names or want them to have different names, that’s up to you. :D

I had so much fun drawing these guys and am probably going to try doing a comic in the near future! (mwahaha)

Hello there! I am currently writing a fantasy story about two males who fall in love with one another during the duration of the story. The two males in question are Talis, an orphan who had been accepted into a military position in his world, and Leto, a wild brigand who had stayed at the same orphanage that Talis was housed at before being taken in by an assassin organization. I was just wondering how I could portray Talis's more reserved affection and Leto's more amorous and flirty methods.

Oh my god, this is adorable! I was thinking Leto would be more suggestive and straightforward with what he wants in the relationship, contrasting with Talis who seems a little more hesitant and self-conscious. I only say that because I once read a book (I can’t for the life of me think what it was called) that had a kid bought up in an assassination Unit (?). I remember it being really graphic and the kid seeing a lot of stuff he shouldn’t have seen at such a young age, I think that’s why I relate it to Leto. It probably wan’t what you were going for, sorry I got excited!

Okay, so I’ve written a list that can hopefully help with portraying their contrasting character types, I hope it helps:

  • Talis being the affectionate one, always in need of some sort of physical contact (not sexual™).
  • As orphans, I guess they were both largely deprived of physical and emotional affection, so it might seem a little awkward and clumsy at first.
  • Leto being the one to initiate anything vaguely sexual, but only if Talis is comfortable with it.
  • Talis learning he needs to leave his aggression and anger out on the fields and actually just be himself around Leto.
  • Leto always insisting on making food, Talis knowing full-well that he’s physically incapable of making anything edible. Talis always ends up sitting on the kitchen counter giggling at Leto’s confusion as to ‘why they had to put a certain liquid in the saucepan and not just water?’
  • Talis being aware that Leto needs to rant at times and letting him yell at him for 30 minutes, before an evening of Leto mumbling apologies into Talis’ chest.
  • Talis playing with Leto’s hands, just as a reassurance that he’s still there.
  • Leto unconsciously curling his fingers into Talis’ hair as a reassurance he’s still there.
  • Often forgetting to do human things like eating, sleeping, drinking etc, because they spend one moment basking in the reality that they have one another and then savouring that moment for as long as possible.
  • Both going absolutely insane when the other doesn’t return home at their allocated time. Leto is especially good at this one and Talis has started running home after that one time Leto called out a search party, the police, the FBI and a large group of his Assassin family to help look for him because ‘Oh my god Kelly-Anne, I don’t care if you’re in labour, I need to find my boyfriend. God, such disrespect.’
  • Talis totally collapsing and snuggling into Leto when something’s gone wrong. Leto cards his fingers through Talis’ hair and kisses his forehead because Talis always reminds him that ‘I’ve already lived this bad thing once, I don’t need to relive it by telling you.’ Leto normally just grins and shakes his head, pulling him closer into his chest.

Oh god, I could’ve gone on forever, I’m slightly (totally) in love with your characters! I hope they maybe help a bit? Message me if you want more, I got tons of ideas for this one, sadly it isn’t like that for everyone! Good luck anyhow and be sure to tag me if it’s ever up anyone, lots of love from Yasmine xox

i’m in my prime,
not withering and old.
but i refuse to play
your wicked games any longer.

i know this tether is unbreakable,
but you make me feel like i’m interchangeable.
you drew a target on my heart,
when did this become fatal attraction?

i don’t have the strength,
the energy,
nor the patience
to be held hostage by your love.

so baby please don’t despair
when i say that
i’ve found the courage to
let you go.

you were never meant to be tied down in the first place.

—  believing i could love you was my mistake, c.j.n.

saudade (noun) | PORTUGUESE

a deep, nostalgic, and melancholic longing for something or someone, often accompanied with a denied fact that what one longs for will never come back

“I wonder, can I keep up with it? The speed of the world without you in it.”

“I feel like I still have ambitions but they’re more like creative ambitions. I would love to do the soundtrack to a film—something that I can really challenge myself with. So they’ve definitely shifted. I don’t have that thing where I felt so intense and tangled up about things, which is probably a good thing. It means that you’re not as hung up on world domination. But on the positive side, it means you live quite a peaceful existence.”
