Congrats to Alumnus Matt Given who broke Boston University’s school record at the Crash B’s last
weekend with a time of 5:56. Competing in the Open Men’s category, Matt came in 5th in the world, and 2nd in the US! All due to his roots at HSHS and the great support and coaching that he has received over the years!!

Congrats to my beast of a brother!

One of my best buds Michelle Lazorchak did not just kill it at C.R.A.S.H B’s BUT WON THE OPEN WOMEN’S EVENT WITH A 6:43.1.

Michelle joined the novice team at Purdue as a grad student when I was a senior there last year. Before coming to Purdue, she never rowed a day in her life.

And now she is a world champion.

If you put your mind to it and dedicate yourself to being the best you can be, it doesn’t matter if you don’t have years of experience rowing. And it doesn’t matter if you don’t go to a Division 1 rowing program.

If you work hard on any team, be it club or any level of the NCAA, or even on your own, anything is possible. You just have to get out there and do it.
