coworker

Photo of the sunrise my coworker took on the way to work. The power lines somehow added to the photo, when they normally would take away in my opinion so I thought I’d share. It’s the same sunrise I posted recently, also fun to see how two shots of the same sunrise can be so different.

Lady at work: Why do you spend so much money on books?

Me: I like books.

Lady: Yeah, but they’re so much cheaper from the library or on Kindle.

Me: You buy movies, right?

Lady: Yeah.

Me: And they’re about $20 for a two hour movie, right?

Lady: Yeah.

Me: Imagine spending $10 on something that fills in all the blanks those movies leave, enjoying it for many hours, possibly days, and even if you never read it again it becomes art on your shelves. You can take that story with wherever you go. You can experience it on the bus, in a park, skydiving, under a tree, on a boat, or even in a theater waiting to watch a movie. Now you tell me why I spend so much on books.

Lady: Yeah, but…

Me: Shh, you lost.

  • Coworker:So what did you think of the episode last night?
  • Me:I really liked it.
  • Me interally:oh holy shit, DID YOU SEE THE DESTIEL, IT WAS AMAZING, I AM FLYING, I AM DEAD, IT WAS -
  • Coworker:I thought it was ok. I mean, I liked it, but it just didn't seem like much happened compared to last week.
  • Me:.......
  • Me internally:So... not a shipper then.
