“There’s a hundred years of history,
And a hundred before that,
All gathered in the thinkin’
Goin’ on beneath this hat.

And back behind his eyeballs
And pumpin’ through his veins,
Is the ghost of every cowboy
That ever held the reins.

Every coil in his lasso’s
Been thrown a million times,
His quite concentrations
Been distilled through ancient minds.

It’s evolution workin’
When silver scratches hide,
And a ghostly cowboy chorus
Fills his head and says ‘let’s ride’.

The cold flame burns within him
'Till his skins as cold as ice,
And the dues he paid to get here
Are worth every sacrifice.

All the miles spent sleep drivin’
All the money down the drain,
All the 'if I’s’ and 'nearly’s’
All the bandages and pain.

All the female tears left dryin’
All the fever and the fight,
Are just a small down payment
On the ride he makes tonight.

It’s guts and love and glory,
One mortal’s chance at fame,
His legacy is rodeo,
And cowboy is his name.”

Okay on the line of Petwatch, The McHanzos own a Chihuahua okay, they find it washed up on the side of an alley way somewhere in Dorado on a mission, it’s practically hairless has resting bitch face with a squinty stink eye, the temperament and lethargy of a cantankerous 90 yr old man and otherwise a spawn from hell. But Hanzo loves him to McDeath and is the only one he cuddles with. He and the dragons actually get along tho because they all think they’re superior to everything. Ana knits him fashionable little sweaters and McCree bought him a sombrero and serape which the dog is usually found in if left with the cowboy. His name is like Cerberus or Cupcake or something. Okay? Okay.

One of my favorite things to do in any of these analyses is try to pinpoint what a ghost’s life was like when they were alive. What time period were they from? What did they do? What were their goals and dreams?

There are a few ghosts with a canon backstory, but for the most part, we’re left to piece together what small clues the show gives us by ourselves. Walker’s one that I especially struggled with because the clues are rather small and limited, but let’s try to piece together what his life might’ve been like.

I’m bored and hurting so time for MORE USELESS FIC STUFF THAT NOBODY CARES ABOUT.

In any fic that requires Jet’s backstory, I often headcanon that Jet isn’t his real name. But every different fic verse I give him a different name cause it’s fun.

The Normal Fics!

Bits and Pieces verse (2001):
Julian Lawniczak - Jet Merlo
After his father took off, Jet started going by his mother’s maiden name. He didn’t get the name Link until he was on Ghost Island. Ivan gave him the name.

Gehenna verse (re:Cyborg, CoJ):
Alexander “Sasha” Lanik
You can see why he changed that.

Bird in the Eaves:
Justinian

Cowboy 009:
His Lakota name was Mourning Stone. He’s forgotten his real name, though he suspects Joshua because whenever he hears that he gets something of a memory ping. He got the name Link from an abandoned mine.

The Crack Fics!

The one where Jet is from the 1930′s (2001):
Jacopo

The one where Jet is Joe and Francoise’s son from the future (re:Cyborg):
Jean Shimamura

The one where Jet is Gilmore’s older brother (2001):
Isaiah Gilmore

Add your own real names for Jet you’ve used! Crack included! Because why not???

Once upon a time, Scrooge McDuck was a cowboy–so, naturally, he picked himself out a good cowboy name

A Skeleton with a Gun

So I was DMing a this game where the players venture through this dungeon and eventually encounter two boss. One being a Skeleton Knight and the other is a Skeleton Gunslinger (with a cowboy hat), amoung a large numbers of minions. After a big fight, the party destroyed the minions and the grappling monk, subdued the knight and tied him up with rope. However, the fighter pixie decided that the undead cowboy then could potentially be reasoned with.

Pixie: “Hey, your leader down there is kinda tied up atm, and you are by yourself. Wouldn’t you rather ditch him and adventure with us? Btw I like your hat.”

At this point the entire table was arguing if you can reason with an undead, as typically it’s not possible, but the pixie rolled anyways. He figured this one was a special case being so out of place in the entire dungeon.

*rolls a 19* uh… Close enough

DM(me): The skeleton Gunslinger threw his rifle across his back, then pulls out a cigar and place it in his mouth, which he lit it with match and let out a long huff that sends smoke through every openings in his skull face

“Hey you know what, I like you… *huff* Yeah I’ll join you. I’ve been kinda sick of working with Asar anyways.”

At this point everyone starts losing their shit over this turn around.

Party rogue (ooc): WHAT A BADASS SKELETON!

Skeleton Knight(me): He screams to his old minion as he is still pinned to the ground by the monk, “YOU TRAITOR!”

Skeleton Gunslinger: “Let’s face it boss *let’s out another huff* You’re boned”

And at that moment, one of the party decapitates the skeleton Knight. Since then, the party is accompanied by this cigar huffing skeleton cowboy. His name is Silvester. Also they kept the functioning skeleton Knight’s head.

Young Hanzo/Older McCree au where Hanzo walks in on Jesse playing with himself and calling out the dragon man's name 👀 👀

This AU is gonna kill me slowly.

So alright, it’s been a bit and Jesse’s still showin Hanzo the ropes of being in Overwatch, he probably is assigned to show him around. And he’s been Layin on the charm thick cuz damn this kid is beautiful, and Hanzo acts like it pisses him off but is quietly intrigued. So McCree probably tells Hanzo some shit like “hey if you get lost or need any help or anything just let me know.” And Hanzo is like ‘ugh no leave me alone I don’t need help’ but ends up getting really confused about the location of something and begrudgingly goes to find McCree. And he’s a confident and kind of demanding dude so he makes it to his bunk, knocks once, waits for a minute, and then just opens the door on a grown ass McCree getting off while panting out his name.

And they lock eyes when Jesse sees the door open and they both just freeze for a second. And then Jesse’s trying to get up and pull his pants back up but he’s cock out and a mess and Hanzo just bolts out of the room. Jesse just kind of falls back onto the bed, boner dead, screaming internally like ‘fuck I ruined it I ruined it god damn it.’

Meanwhile Hanzo races back to his room, locks the door and throws himself into his bed, staring at the ceiling. He’s mortified and bright red and super embarrassed, but he’s even more upset about the fact that he’s half hard and getting harder the more he thinks about the way the older cowboy said his name.

Archie, The Dungeon Merchant

A player asked me a good question today about if there’s a wandering Dungeon Merchant; they were kind of trapped deep in a serious dungeon and didn’t exactly have a way of accessing potions.

Well, I -do- have one. He’s a Beholder with a cowboy hat and a country accent.

His full name is Archidaeluxamadiozyphianmorchachlelarus. Or Archie for short.
