It is my dream to see these two travel the world together and bless every country with their life and love. So I decided to contribute to that dream. Here they are in my home country, in Stammi Vicino-inspired Barong Tagalog, our Filipino formal wear. ♥
Where do I sign up for the job where you drive around the US and investigate weird phenomena and talk to the locals in diners with lots of character? Because I’m pretty sure that’s what I want to do after college.
Warnings- A tiny bit of swearing, and a hospital theme throughout. But it’s super fluffy! It’s set in London (mainly because I’m from the UK and writing things set in my country is easier while I’m just starting!) and it’s also in my dream land where Lin is playing Hamilton in London when it comes. Also, please excuse my basic/mediocre medical knowledge.
A/N- I’ve had this written for a while but I didn’t know when to post it. Especially with An Ocean Away still in full swing. But I’ve bitten the bullet and I’m just going to go for it. It’s a biggie, so I’ve split it with lines in case anyone needs a break in between. I hope you all enjoy it!
(AND P.S…THE NEXT PART OF AN OCEAN AWAY IS COMING, HUGE THANKS TO EVERYONE’S AMAZING MESSAGES! I LOVE YOU ALL!)
once i had a dream that @itsagifnotagif was in my country, my town, precisely, and i was running around like an idiot but i couldn’t find him so i cried and when i woke up i was a total mess bc i wanted to say hi to him but i couldn’t

♡ Plus my pen pot. I am really confused about what I want to do with myself, and I know I have time to figure it out… I want to live in my dream country with my best friend, but I also want to live with my girlfriend, and I want to attend university here, but I also want to attend it there… Aaaah! So confusing! :(
in the country where my dreams are like bark peeled off by lightning I was with her […] while the wolf had the moon by the throat I said I love you in the field of honor and she was like a colt and she was water I held in my hands and she was the canoe I worked through the river and she was the flash at two-thirty in the morning of the suicidal knife and she was a fire of pine cones who ran like a deer and she was a butterfly that lit on the float of my pole and she was night herself she was the cape I drew over my body
Frank Stanford, lines 4906-4917, from The Battlefield Where the Moon Says I Love You (Lost Roads Publishers, 2000)
My mother’s grandparents came to America on a ship with a dream.
My father’s grandparents came to America on a ship with a dream.
I am here, sitting in my living room, as a doctor because there were people who decided to come to this country to live a different, and hopefully better life than their parents.
I’m here, sitting in my living room hoping that I will be able to give my children a better life than the one I have. And I think that’s all that anyone wants.
About 2% of the US population is Native American. That means a whole lot of people are the descendants of people who immigrated here.
Get it. Many of us would not be here if someone hadn’t been given the chance to come here and start a new life.
Here’s the thing… the immigration ban is not only cruel, ridiculous, and racist… it’s un-American.
The world is large. In it there are people of every color and belief system – all those people are our neighbors. The world is large, but not so small that we can say these people are “us” and these people are “them” – we are all human, we are all apart of this species trying to make better lives for ourselves. It’s time we see that.
So no matter what language you speak, or what god you worship (or don’t worship), no matter what color your skin, or who you love, or where you live – you are my neighbor and you are welcome and safe with me.
No matter what the stance of some ignorant politicians sitting in large houses in Washington – my family came to this country with a dream – and if yours makes it to my doorstep, I’ll invite you in to my living room and we can work on making a better life, together.
We were at my grandparents’ house, and Ramsay Bolton was in the dining room showing my parents how to properly strangle someone using a tie. They were very interested and they were trying hard to do the knots properly. Then he saw me and sent his hand-men to chase me, but I managed to go outside and jump in a car which was driven by two TV stars (in my country). I woke up from the fear and the adrenalin.
