Two Things

Artist Dork found my Jesse and James Pokémon socks in her laundry. She threw them at me and literally say “Looks like Team Rocket’s blasting off again.” *sigh*

The newest neighbor to the hood is playing his bluegrass folk country shit very loudly. I think it’s time to welcome him to the neighborhood and blare my Welcome to the Madness playlist. Quiet Riot, anyone?

Elsewhere University- Feathers

Might still be. Aren’t yet.

This is your junior year (you think). You know how things are. You carry salt in one pocket, iron in another, trinkets to bargain away in your book bag, offerings in your purse, pearls around your neck.

We need more lesbian roots/Americana/bluegrass songs.

Bragging time, sorry...

but me and Nancy had a jam session last night, she played bass and guitar, I played banjo and guitar, we swap for certain songs….

we’re not very good singers, but we did manage all but two songs of the O’Brother where art thou soundtrack. It’s mainly old timey country and bluegrass/gospel songs, pretty much three chorders all the way…

so yeah, having a sing song musical jam with ones spouse can be better than se……..well, almost

In A Moment

Scroll I through bluegrass country
eye alone and on a lookout
drowned in spirits staring at clouds.
Among mechanical waves crushing
on concrete shores lined with glass and grit.
A lonely whistle howls down that line,
a sole engineer earns his wage.
A glass mostly empty for now
but my soul awake and full of glee.
Why but for I am soon to be free.
