I’m super pissed about this because at the very end of my 5 minute cool down my c25k app went apeshit and then replayed the 22 minute running section, thus screwing up all my stats for the run on the app.

BUT I’m also v happy because this is the BEST PACE I HAVE RUN EVER IN MY LIFE as well as the GREATEST DISTANCE I have run as a result. I was on week 6 day 3 and I ran 22 minutes straight at a consistent pace.
I felt like I was being slow (like when your legs are moving as it should cos they’re running but your body is dragging you down so it feels like you’re not going any faster than walking pace) but look at this! Up until the beginning of last week I did not get anywhere near my house when I reached the 5 min cool down period but I got home faster than the app finished twice in a row! The last 5-7 minute region of my runs is at the beginning a slight uphill and then a very very steep uphill, 2 days ago I ran 1 minute on and off for this area but today I PUSHED HARD and ran up those hills like a rabid dog was chasing me.

I’ve improved so much not only in distance but in speed as well. Considering my only focus for this was running consistently without stopping I am very proud of myself. To see cold hard results is so gratifying 👌

Weigh in Day!

Yesterday was weigh in day! I lost 3 lbs in week one. I’m very happy with that. Yay!

Starting weight – 182 lbs

Current weight – 179 lbs

Goal weight – 125-135 lbs

Height – 5′ 4

I am aiming at a loss of 2lb per week, I expected to lose a little more in the first week due to starting quite big and drastically cutting down on salt!

It’s week 2 now, I will be running tonight for couch to 5k and I’ll fit in some bodyweight exercises when I can. I definitely feel ready for week 2 of couch to 5k. It’s tough but running feels so exhilarating, I really enjoy it. Maybe I’ve found the exercise for me.

Week one went quite well, I had one bad day. On Friday I was so negative, I’m not quite sure why but I really struggled that day, I’ve kept notes in my journal and although I felt so bad, I ate okay which is good! Normally I’d use a bad day as an excuse to binge. I had a nice weekend and went shopping so I have lot’s of new recipes to try this week.

This morning I had rye crispbreads with mascarpone cheese and smoked salmon slices for breakfast with coffee, yum.

For lunch, I’ll have a chicken salad with leftover chicken from last night’s roast dinner.

For Dinner,  mini fajitas with roast veggies.

I love that I’m eating things I would have eaten before, I’m just being more careful with portions, adding in more vegetables as fillers and just not overeating. I’m also exercising so that I can eat a little more. 1200 wouldn’t leave me the freedom to have my coffees and little snacks here and there so I love that I can do that if I exercise. Even if I don’t go far over 1200 the thought of only having 1200 makes me feel instantly restricted!

I’m looking forward to week 2 and my first run of week 2 tonight! I hope many of you out there also had a good week one

Starting Run Training - C25k - any better ideas?

I’ve managed to successfully avoid running & salad for pretty much my entire weightloss/ life gain journey so far. I’m down about 130lbs with about another 70lbs to go. Currently I weigh about 105kg/230lbs and I’ve just set a goal to pass the military fitness test.

That means I need to weigh at least 10kg/20lbs less, and I need to run. I need to run well. 15 push ups, 40 sit ups, and level 6.5 comfortably on the beep test.

This is my question for the runners out there - is couch to 5k my best starting point or do you have a better training suggestion?

Many thanks for your brain power,

Sarah xx

SPARKLY GREEN NAILPOLISH with strands of christmas lights. Pretty sure I’m feeling awfully festive.

In other news, I’ve decided that I am going to actually make a specific workout schedule for myself. I can’t just say “oh yeah, I’ll work out these days…”  anymore because I am starting to get lazy. I’ve decided to jump into the couch to 5k program and actually stick to it.. that will give me cardio 3x week, not including my ride on Tuesday’s.

I decided to jump into week 3, because it is basically what I’ve been doing the last couple of runs.

6 weeks from now I will be running 5k…. really?
I am actually skeptical. I’m ashamed to admit it, but I am.

Here’s the Couch to 5K Treadmill plan.

I’m starting tomorrow.

I’ll attempt to post how I feel after I complete each work out, and comment, if I should be so lucky, on the changes I see in my body from it.

I would really like some changes.

If you want to join me on my journey to 5K-dom, let me know how you’re doing :)!

I have to admit, in the past week, I have been somewhat M.I.A.  Work has really been picking up which is great, but that means alot of late hours and when I come home, the last thing I want to do is look at a computer.  So for that, I apologize.  I’m trying to get caught up on all of my friend’s lives on here and returning emails, so thank you for your patience.

I normally start out Monday mornings with a little visual motivation, but seeing as this is my 100th post, I wanted to write something a little more significant.

Since graduating from the C25K program, I’ve ventured off to begin the B210K program.  By my calculations, I should be running about 4mi at a time right now.  However, because I am as slow as molasses, I usually have to add an extra interval of running after finishing the intervals just to keep up on distance.

After finishing the first week, I have to say I am pretty happy with just completing each workout.  Who would have ever thought 9 weeks ago, that I could run 4mi, 3x a week.  Certainly, not this girl!

For the next couple of weeks, I am on interval training again.  I find this alot harder…mentally.  When I would run my 5Ks without stopping, I knew I was going to be running for a really long time, so I could zone out.  However, with intervals, I am much more conscience of the time, and therefore, the minutes seem alot longer.  That, and I’m back to hearing the annoying man on my iphone app saying, “5 minutes left”, “Halfway there”, “Two minutes left”, etc. etc. etc.  My opinion, he needs friends, he talks too much.

So here’s to the 100th post, here’s to 4miles 3x last week, and here’s to the next 100 posts…kinda crazy to think where I’ll be in the next 100.  I hope you all are still around, because without you, I would be back on that couch, wondering about the woulda-coulda-shoulda(s).

June 4th, 2014: Wendy's and Weight Loss

Good afternoon lovelies! :)

So today I had my Wendy’s work orientation from 10am-1pm! It was fairly boring, as I just watched videos for the majority of the time, and signed a bunch of papers. Yippppeeee. At least I got paid for it :P

I weighed myself this morning and I was 134 pounds! (2 less than last time). WOOO! ♥ Hopefully the scale is accurate. I haven’t been this light since like March-April so I’m happy. : )

Last night I ended up eating a small bowl of ice cream and chocolate chips. Even though it is not paleo, I was very careful about how much I had, and ended up only consuming between 1200 and 1250 calories in total for the whole day.

I feel like as long as I eat Paleo 95% of the time and Gluten Free close to 100% of the time, I should be okay! After all, my main issue is bread products. Being GF is definitely much more realistic than Paleo, considering my mother does the grocery shopping and it is to feed my whole family, not just me.

With all of this in mind, I will be content as long as I don’t overeat and I lose weight!

I’m possibly going to try day 1 of the Couch-to-5K program later today! Really want to become a runner hehhee

Hi, I’m Bea

Today I have decided to make a massive change in my life.

I am 25 and I have now been overweight for about 7 years of my life.

I’m 5’ 8" and as of today I weigh 220lbs, but I have decided to make a change, my goal weight is 140lbs,

I’ve tried this before but got no where, so I thought keeping a blog would help me stay motivated and give me somewhere to keep track of my progress.

Please follow me on myfittnesspal beaminus80

I’m going to do this the healthy way, through diet and excersize,

Today I went on my 1st run since school, using the couch to 5k app, and it wasn’t too bad at all!!

I’m going to post my progress as often as possible, when I’m feeling brave enough I’ll post my before photos as well!!
