corrie mackenzie

“They were the beats of my heart, the skin of my body, the breath that entered my mouth and nostrils. They were the beautiful friends who had taught me that love was the life-force.”

how to respond when people inevitably have a problem with corrie being indigenous:

-official artwork from the books in the 90s depict ellie with blonde hair. but people have no problem with ellie having brown hair in the movies and series.

-jon prasida, the actor who plays lee in the tv series, is indonesian, whereas lee was chinese and vietnamese in the books.

-fi canonically has blonde hair in the books but its widely accepted that madeleine clunies-ross will be great as fi

-all the main characters were 16 in the books, except for kevin who was 17. they have aged all the characters up to 17-19 years old in both the movie and series.

so people who complain that corrie being aboriginal is a disservice to the original series. shut the fuck up, you’ve never had a problem with the actors looking different before.
