I love corndogs! It is one of my favorite snacks. I experimented in my kitchen with corndog making. I tried doing one with my own invented recipe yet it is inspired by old-fashioned way to make corndogs. So what did I do? Instead of the usual frying I baked mine. Baking is healthier than frying since in the first place it doesnt use oil plus it maintains the same quality as it is before, unlike with frying, the taste could be altered as what to is expected. I am gonna share my very own recipe for corndog. I called mine cornpups since puppies are baby dogs and I only used small hotdogs for this.
Stalwart’s Baked Cornpups
¼ kilo mini hotdogs
500g pancake mix
2 tablespoons sugar
half cup water
2 medium eggs
1 tablespoon melted butter
Beat two medium eggs in a bowl.
Add the sugar and butter, mix until sugar and butter is dissolved.
Add the water.
Mix in the pancake mix, make sure that you produce a dough-like mixture after you mixed it.
Knead the dough and divide it equally according to the number of hotdogs.
After dividing the dough, wrap each hotdog with each piece and seal it with a toothpick.
Grease with butter or cooking the baking pan and place the cornpups on the baking pan. Make sure that there is enough space between each of the cornpups to prevent it from sticking with each other.
Baked in the oven for about 20 minutes, or until pale golden brown.
*Best served without a dip. :)
Tip: for kneading the dough, you may like to sprinkle it with flour to avoid sticking and for more convenient wrapping of it to the hotdog.
