Fun story: my bio professor’s best friend worked in botanical ecology for a while, and she used to study orchids in the Amazon rainforest. While she was there, she got bit by one on these guys, an eyelash viper. Their venom packs a punch, and she basically thought she would be dead within half an hour. She was fine though, so the little guy must have just released its venom supply into something else or had some kind of illness that prevented it from properly producing venom. So long story short, this kick-butt awesome woman got bit by an eyelash viper while scaling a hundred or so feet (because rainforest trees, yo) to collect orchids and lived to tell the tale. She’s seriously my life goals.
