Edit because I should have put this stuff in the post and not the tag: storm/weather witch Michael who creates lightning to strike people down or a tornado to wreck the streets behind them to help lose the cops
Animal witch Ryan who lets loose animals in the zoo and convinces them to tear apart someone once he’s done with them, it’s an easy way to dispose bodies
Jack who uses her magic to heal them just enough until they can get to Caleb. She’s a white witch and her magic is suppose to be used for good and it is. It helps Geoff when he’s stressed over a heist and Ryan when he can’t sleep. It help Michael control his magic when he’s pissed and keeps Gavin from fainting when he has to use his magic. It helps Jeremy keep from getting too anxious about a job especially in the beginning and herself when things get to much and she needs to keep herself sane and calm. It helps them all from going mad when someone gets captured.
time/fire witch Geoff who turns back time when something goes horribly horribly wrong and one of them dies and lights shit up when need be
Necromancy Jeremy who gets ghost to help distract people and bring people just long enough when he’s not finished with them. Jeremy can only bring somebody back for so long before it drains him and they aren’t fully back to themselves they’re, well, a zombie which is why Geoff has to turn back time instead of Jeremy just bringing them back.
Blood witch Gavin who hates his magic and only uses it when he has to
Garden witch Mica who makes vines grow from the ground to tie people up
Space witch Trevor who creates black holes and stars just hot enough to burn a person when Geoff isn’t around to do it
Eclectic Witch Lindsay who is basically the crew Jack of all trades
Creation witch Matt who makes new weapons and vehicles for the crew
and divination witch steffie who they all go to before a job to see how it goes
Another edit because something was pointed out by @whatdoyewant :
ryan using mangy cats and dogs, wild forgotten things that prowl the alleys and scrap for scraps. who are starved and half crazed and more wild than any zoo animal. zoos are precious conservation programs with rare species that are well taken care of, and he wouldn’t touch them. He’d summon the cats left behind, the dogs who ran from fighting rings and abuse, the rats that fill every crack of every dilapidated apartment and every sewer.
It’s terrifying how your life changes without your consent.
You meet someone one day and before you realise it's happening you’re falling in love with them and it’s too late to stop. It’s like that reoccurring dream where you’re driving towards a red light and suddenly the brakes don’t work. It’s terror in slow motion. You’re drifting …. Drifting towards the intersection with your foot to the floor so hard you’re practically standing and there’s nothing you can do to stop it. It’s out of your control, you know you’re going to crash so hard it’s going to kill you….
But just before that inevitable moment you wake up and you feel relieved. It’s okay, it was just a bad dream. You’re in love and everything’s okay… So you walk around in your half dream state blissfully unaware you’re still asleep until the point that you wake up for real one day to the realisation that they’re gone.
And there you are, sobbing like a 2 year old because you didn’t ask for this. This isn’t fair, this isn’t right. You saw the red light ahead… and you tried so hard to put the brakes on
Excerpt:They had found Crescent together, before she had been Crescent. Sitting, waiting to be decommissioned in Hangar 6. Her core almost depleted, navigation fried, auto control burned out. She was a husk of a ship, a shell of dream. She was nothing, for what is Icarus without his wings, what is a ship without its soul? What is she if she isn’t Crescent?
Wherein Cress sort of dies and the Rampion’s artificial intelligence which she had programmed starts evolving into her personality. Emphasis on sort of dies, because this is one of the fic requests from forever ago where anonymous asked “I wish you could write a fic where Cress dies and Thorne is devastated, but she comes back to life somehow. (Either she never really died or something like that)”
Fear is your best friend or your worst enemy. It’s like fire. If you can control it, it can cook for you; it can heat your house. If you can’t control it, it will burn everything around you and destroy you.

Happy Anniversary Simmers!
It was 16 years, 11 months, and 29 days ago that the Sims were born!! And we wanted to be the first to wish you all a
Happy 16th11th29th Anniversary!
Since then, there have been well over a 100 Sim births and deaths. 10s of homes built, and burned, and…
Ok, look, they don’t actually give me any real stats. I’m sure I’m close though… somewhere within a light year of error… it’s all relative.
This little life-simulation game about telling stories, controlling lives, burning down kitchens, inviting the neighbors to hang out in your basement and then removing the doors, building amazing homes, and just watching their lives unfold as you tweak away, is now (almost) 17 years old, and we hope you have, had, and will have fun with The Sims!
With that, we have just a little new…
The Main Menu has gone through a small redressing.
Upon your next load, you will be met with a new, but hopefully familiar looking, Main Menu. The summary of changes being:
Continue (the big play button), other than a location shift, functions exactly as it did
New Game and Load Game have come down from their hidden corner, and are now found alongside the Continue button.
Adding a household to an existing save is located on the Map view screen in the lower right
The upper right menus have been simplified to only include Gallery and the Options menu
And the lower left contains all the information you might want regarding packs.
We’ve also added a shirt (for toddlers and older) to celebrate the 17th anniversary (found in Create a Sim in the T-Shirt sort).
And we have a couple of critical issue fixes…
We addressed an issue that could cause the baby to disappear upon age up.
We addressed an issue that could result in toddlers being placed down through a wall, and outside of their home, if carried to use an object that was against an outer wall.
Addressed an issue that could cause a toddler to become stuck next to an elevator upon loading the lot.
We addressed an out of sync voice and animation issue that was causing our Sims to be ever so slightly off.
While this is joyous news for parents everywhere, this does pose a significant population issue in Neverland. And we can only wait out the potential pirate to lost boy gap, as it draws ever closer in the favor of the pirates.
Ask any parent, and they will tell you “Of course toddlers are magical!” Ask them again to place their toddlers through a wall, and they will yell at your ridiculous suggestion.
It’s a two-faced world folks, and we’re just living in it.
This fix will address future occurrences, however, to correct the issue in an already saved game, travel to another lot with the toddler and return.
Had that early film feel, except without the cool fighting, or person in rubber monster suit scenes.
Rental Lots can now have their lot type changed, and are no longer locked in Granite Falls.
Club perks and points will no longer reset after loading into an unowned lot and then returning.
And with that… we wish you a happy journey with us on The Sims, and look forward to your machinima, blogs, tweets, posts, screens, and vids of all things Sims.
I'd Fight The Flames That Surround Your Heart ch. 1
A/N: Hi, okay I’m in a coffee shop posting this on my phone and I’m like 110% nervous about this. I’m buckyn0 on A03 and I’ve just finished the third chapter. I wanna give a shout out to my fiance @hockeyjock011 for being super supportive and correcting my terminology, my friend @xo-snowy-footsteps-xo for being the first person to read this fic, @itsgreatestlie for the supportive push through my writers block and @gaybybirth, @marvelatthepeople, @buckyywiththegoodhair letting me tag them! Holy shit, here we go. I am gonna go ahead and apologize for any mistakes and cursing.
As you walked up the steps of the newest fire station in New York City, you looked around, marveling at the iconic skyline surrounding your new workplace and second home. You stand in front of the front door of the station, moving to open it before it suddenly swung out, with a blonde man sprinting out of it towards Avengers Tower. You quickly stepped out of the way and off the slightly raised porch and into the bushes. You sat there, slightly dazed as the man turned back to help you out of the bushes while you look him over, noticing his toned body and wiry arms. He gives you a wry look and an apology before leaving again.
You shook off your nerves and smoothed your (l/c/t) hair back into a ponytail, pulling out a few leaves in the process before moving to straighten out your uniform. You open the door, a little more cautious this time, before entering with a relieved sigh as you enter, the familiar smell of old smoke and sweat greet washes over your senses. You drop your bag of turnout gear in the first available locker on the way to the bay area. You peek into the bay with a smile and take note of the three firetrucks and ambulance with excitement before turning back to the main hallway. You follow the sounds and smells of the kitchen, knowing that you’d be likely to find most of the crew there.
You quietly enter the kitchen as you join the rest of the crew, some sitting at the long table reading or playing on their phones, the others gathered around the ones cooking, watching with rapt attention as they pull out the finished dinner. As they turned to put the food on the table, they saw you and smiled. Some pulled you into hugs and others shook your hand, all introducing themselves to you and others. You smiled and introduced yourself to them and everything stops. They all look at you with wide eyes and growing smiles and several smirks. You immediately realize that you will be getting some grief for your accent, completely used to the jokes and people asking you to say things. The bottom of the request cloud was about to drop out as you all heard the PA system turn on with a quick, ‘click beep’.
You all looked at the speaker that sat at the top of the wall closest to Stark Tower, just above a picture window, giving a perfect view of the block in front of the building, waiting for the announcement.
“Will (l/n), (f/n) please report to the Captain’s office for her crew member debrief?” You froze for a moment before straightening your uniform up and looked to the woman standing to your right who smiled kindly at you, understanding what you were about to ask.
“I’d be happy to take you to the office,” she said with a bright smile, leading you from the room her left arm hooked around your right arm. “I’m Rebekah. I came in a little after you introduced yourself to the crew. With your accent, you’re bound to get along well with the Captain. He has a goddaughter from the south.” She led you through the station, showing you the women’s quarters and adjoining shower room along the way. You both stopped at the end of the hall, looking up a set of stairs to see where the Captain’s office was (along with the men’s quarters and shower room.) “So Captain O’Keefe’s office is at the very end of the hall. Knock on the door and he’ll basically tell you everything you already know.” You both laughed, knowing the truth of the statement.
You waved to Rebekah as you walked upstairs to the office. You were not nervous anymore because the crew had accepted you as one of their own already and that was always one of the most difficult parts of the job. You thought back to the first station you worked with with a fond memory as you knocked on the door lightly, knowing that the Captain was going to be greeting you at the door.
This door swung in, revealing your godfather, whose face lit up like a 250 watt bulb in a pitch black room as you entered the spacious, wood paneled room. “I see that you were the lead designer in this room. I’m not sure if anyone told you lately, but the 70s have been over for forty years now Uncle Jim.” You said with a smirk, hugging your dad’s best friend and following him to the chairs surrounding his desk.
I like how Aang has learned that he can apply his airbending moves to the other elements. We’ve seen Aang use these exact moves in the past, but back then he was only limited to airbending (and later waterbending as well as airbending).
The second gif also reminds me of the thing Katara does where she exhales and freezes something as she exhales. Aang does something similar in “Return to Omashu” which I think is a combination of airbending and waterbending:
Summary: Y/N and Liam meet for the first time while running from something in the woods.
You had never run this fast, or this far before. You heart was pounding out of control, your lungs burning as your legs struggled to carry you.
You took a moment to look back, and as you did, you were oblivious to a fallen tree branch in your line of running.
You stumbled, crashing to the ground as your foot tangled with limbs of the branch, face planting, a bit of dirt finding its way into your mouth.
You scrambled to get up, a howl filling the night. You looked down at your hands, scrapped and bleeding. You attempted to get up and run, but you fell once more, your ankle giving out on you.
You let out a yelp of surprise as you went down once again. You looked around, hoping that you had put enough distance between you and that…creature.
You stood, bracing yourself against a tree, a hobbled down the path. Another howl was emitted into the sky, and this time you didn’t care how much it hurt.
You broke into a sprint, pushing yourself to the brink, you looked back once last time, before you crashed into something that felt as hard as a tree. You looked up from your spot on the ground into deep blue eyes that of a boy.
“A-are you ok?” He stammered, as something, relief maybe, washed over you.
“T-there’s something out there!” You cry, struggling to stand. A pained cry escaped your lips as your ankle felt even worse than before.
The boy was quick to action, allowing you to lean against him as you stood.
“D-do y-you think you can walk?” He asked. You nodded a bit, wrapping your arm around his shoulder, his hand laying dangerously close to your waist.
“Yeah, yeah I think so,” You said making a movement to walk. But you were wrong. As you lifted one leg, the other went out under you.
“Nope! Never mind!” You cried. The boy grabbed you in that instant, pulling you up. He pulled you into his arms, lifting you bridal style, as he made his way out of the woods.
“Thank you,” You mutter, a bit embarrassed. He smiled down at you, and suddenly laughed.
“You’re very welcome. It’s not every day I get to save a pretty girl from great danger.” he replied, causing you to laugh.
“I’m Y/N, by the way,” You add, looking up at him as he enters a clearing.
“Liam.” He replied. You looked around, and spotted two boys and a car pulled off to the side.
“Uh guys!” Liam yelled, catching the attention of the other boys. They looked up, and one of them instantly groaned, the other, to surprised, stared back in shock.
“What did you do, Liam!” One cried, hitting his head against the hood of his car. Liam defensively shook his head, his eyes widening.
“Why do you always assume I did something!” He put you down gently, and diverted your eyes from the following gazes of the others.
“Are you ok?” One said, moving forward, brushing past Liam. You nodded, explaining your situation a bit.
“My u-uh, essay kind of, ya know, flew away. So I did the only thing I could think of!” You exclaim. You paused, before looking away.
“I went after it. I needed that paper, and I didn’t have time to write another one, and my grade was already low, and my Mom-!” He cut you off with a shake of his head.
“I get it,” He muttered.
“If it hadn’t been for Liam, I’d probably be torn in half and eaten by wolves.” You say, and watch as a blush creeps onto his cheeks. The boy before you turned to Liam and chuckled.
“He finally did something right, for once.” He said, and you smiled as well.
Hope you guys like these! Don’t forget to hurry and submit your entries!
and it flows up flows down
coats our skin and coats our hair,
clinging to duck feathers and
the greasy scraps of paper
we’ve tucked in our pockets, the
silver pins we keep safe in drawers
the blood-soaked marrow deep in our bones
water collects beside the storm drains-
no dumping drains to bay-
beads on the leafless trees and drips down
through my skin and into my lungs
until i’m coughing, my throat full of dead wood
it permeates the ground, seeping and
spreading and drawn through the soil.
as the ants march on our homes,
we hold tight to our scarves and our down
hold tight to our words
fires rage to the east. fires in the wet, fires in the damp,
fires and then it rains all night and i wake up
to a new world
the grass between the sidewalk and the street
is greener than i’ve ever seen it,
green and full of water
they shut down the school and the fires
blossom out of control, burning away
burning like hope, burning like hate, burning
in the reflections of my eyes, in the hands of my friends
your heart is a weapon, they tell me
a weapon the size of your fist
