Trump will give up on repealing Obamacare if the House vote fails

  • Trump will reportedly give up on health care reform if the Republican health care bill does not pass on Friday, according to Politico.
  • “If the president doesn’t get a vote to repeal and replace Obamacare, he will move on to other priorities,” White House Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney said according to NBC News. Read more (3/23/17 10:11 PM)

What changes will Republicans make to the AHCA? Here’s what’s proposed.

  • Lacking the votes within their own party to pass the American Health Care Act, Republican leaders offered a series of proposed changes to woo House conservatives to support the bill.
  • Repealing essential health benefits guaranteed by the Affordable Care Act. Those benefits include emergency services, hospitalization, mental heath care, prescription drugs and maternity care, among others.
  • Delaying repeal of ACA tax. The ACA levied a .9% tax on high-income Americans — those making more than $200,000 a year — to help pay for Medicare, according to the New York Times. The earlier version of the AHCA repealed this tax.
  • Adding money for states to deal with health care costs. Another change would provide states $15 billion to address health care needs — including mental health and substance abuse treatment. Read more (3/24/17 8:23 AM)

CBO report on the latest version of the GOP’s health care bill is even worse than before

  • A new report released Thursday from the Congressional Budget Office could put Friday morning’s already shaky vote in even more jeopardy.
  • The report showed that not only will the same number of people lose their coverage under the revised bill, but it actually lowers the amount of government cost savings. Read more (3/23/17 7 PM)
  • conservative: Malcolm X said that if you vote for the democratic party you're a chump =) vote republican =)
  • leftist: you do realize the larger context of his opinions on the electoral system spits in the face of your implication, right? he literally described democrats as foxes and republicans as wolves -- one will pretend to be your friend and betray you while the other will just bluntly attack you. republicans were the latter....not exactly resounding praise for the GOP. he was a fierce opponent of white supremacy, imperialism, and capitalist exploitation, all things republicans enthusiastically support.
  • conservative: he also liked guns =)

Democrats have class.

Notice you will not see one former Republican President support Trump. Conservatives have wasted decades voting for GOP losers, but NOW say a complete imbecile like Trump is the answer? Wrong again.

If Americans aren’t prioritized, then who is?

Donald Trump’s ban restricts citizens from the following countries entering the United States: Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia, Yemen and Iraq.

What we have recently seen in 2016:

In Columbus, Ohio, a Somali refugee, who had previously lived in Pakistan for seven years, “attempted to run over his fellow Ohio State students on campus. After his car was stopped by a barrier, he got out of the vehicle and began hacking at people with a butcher knife” (

In New York City and New Jersey, a man naturalized from Afghanistan decided to set off multiple bombs, which consequently resulted in the injury of thirty people.

In Minnesota, another Somali refugee began “hacking at people with a steak knife at a Minnesota mall” (

How are these three instances of incredible violence related? All three instances of violence were motivated by radical Islam. All three men believed they were doing justice by their god. All three men referenced “Allah” before attempting to murder innocent civilians. And to top it off, all three men were born outside of the United States, and then graciously welcomed into our country with citizenship, education, and civil rights.

Please let me know how I, as an American citizen, am supposed to feel about this. Should I shrug it off? Claim it’s simply a matter of coincidence? Or should I be scared to death?

I am scared to death. I’m scared for my family, my friends, my peers. Flying, as a result of 9/11, to this day makes me anxious. I’m fearful going about my daily life will soon bring me to the same level of anxiety if these terrorist attacks are to continue.

We, the United States of America, have lived through enough tragedy. President Trump’s ban is not a ban on the Muslim religion. It is a temporary ban on the travel of citizens belonging to seven different countries in the Middle East. These seven countries do have very high Muslim populations. This being known, there are plenty of other countries with high Muslim populations that are still free to travel to and from the United States. These seven countries just happen to pose credible terrorist threats to our nation that need to be taken more seriously.

People are fuming; there has been great distress, great anger. How could we possibly close our borders? Turn our backs on the foreign world? To those who ask these questions, I must then ask this. When President Obama was dropping bombs on five of the seven countries that are currently banned under President Trump’s executive order, where was your anguish? Where were your protests? Where was your voice? Where was your outcry to save the innocent civilians then? Dare I even say these innocent civilians wouldn’t need to seek refuge if it weren’t for President Obama’s previous actions?

The Middle East is a rather large place, with a rather large population of Muslims, and Christians, and Jews. Why must those who seek refuge from war and hardship travel halfway around the world to find peace? Are there no neighboring states to provide them solace? Are those who share their faith, their God too busy to lend a hand, a dollar, a share of kindness. The Middle East is composed of some of the richest countries in the world. Surely there can be a solution a little bit closer to home.

I support the ban.

I support protecting my family, my friends, my peers, my fellow Red, White, and Blue Americans. I support protecting American lives first. I support an end to the terrorist attacks that have occurred all too often around the world in the past year. I support the fight to eradicate Radical Islamic terrorism.

I do not believe I am Islamaphobic, I do not believe I am racist, but I do believe I am a Patriotic American, who would love nothing more than to see our country flourish the way it has previously, and the way it always should: with an end to attacks, and an end to fear. Let’s put America first again

Again, the list is incomplete. Feel free to reblog and add to it, and spread it around. These are the people who are most at risk in Trumps America, and both as a member of a number of these groups and an advocate for the others, myself and many others have an obligation to stand up and not remain silent in the face of tyranny. Our generation was raised with novels about fighting dystopian systems, and if we find ourselves in one, like we soon may, it is our duty to resist with every fiber of our being.

Conservatism. Is. A. Scam.

Conservatives: “There is a finite amount of dollars in the world, we can’t help everyone. The debt is too high. We need to tighten our belts. Healthcare reform and college education reform are too expensive. There’s no such thing as free stuff. Taxes are the government stealing. Let’s take care of our own needy first. These deficits are out of control.”
Conservatives: * Support wasting 20+ billion dollars on a useless vanity project wall for Trump to metaphorically blow himself with*

A slow clap for you Rachel

The Democrats have outdone themselves with this latest stunt. Rachel Maddow, MSNBC’s most watched news anchor, looked to expose the President of the United States. She looked to expose Donald Trump as a fraud to the American people, and I will even assume she had hoped to expose him as a fraud to the international community. She looked to expose some long awaited truth that in some way Donald Trump had dodged the authority of the IRS, and cheated the American tax system.

Rachel Maddow you revealed what Republicans already know, and what Democrats ought to believe. You revealed that like the decent man he is Donald Trump paid his taxes. Donald Trump forfeited 38 million dollars of his income to the American government because that is his duty as an American citizen. When we do the math we find that he paid 25% of his income in taxes.

Before I illustrate the hypocrisy of the left, let me draw on a few more statistical numbers. President Barack Obama, the Democratic savior, the idol of the left, paid 18.7% of his income in taxes. Bernie Sanders, the Socialist, the man who highly publicizes his campaign for free healthcare and free education, only paid 13.5%of his income in taxes. Donald Trump gave a greater percentage of his income to the American government than two of the left’s most beloved members. The left preaches for higher rates of taxation; they ask for the government to regulate and fund more sectors of the economy. Yet the Left’s leaders seem to resist the requirement that they too must forfeit more of their income for these changes.

Bernie Sanders continually criticized Donald Trump throughout the election, claiming that he wasn’t paying his fair share of taxes. Bernie Sanders I ask you to take a step back. I ask you to consider the commitment it requires to give the American government 25% of your hard earned income. I also would like to remind you that Donald Trump, the conservative, the businessman, the successful real estate mogul, is still contributing more to the government than you, the Socialist who advocates for increasing taxes. Oh and by the way, he will also be donating his Presidential salary to charity. But regardless, his hard earned dollars are paying for the programs you would like to expand. They are helping pay for the salary that you collected as a Senator. Do not lecture him on his duties as an American citizen until you realize yours.

Let me now draw my attention back to Rachel Maddow. Rachel Maddow I thank you. Thank you for making a complete and utter fool of yourself on national television. Thank you for highly publicizing that Donald Trump has always put America first. Thank you for unknowingly demonstrating the hypocrisy of the left. Thank you for illustrating that even though he is not perfect, and may be far from it, Donald Trump is still decent. He understands his responsibilities, and he acts on them, never coming up short.

She was a 52-year-old woman who had worked 20 years for the railroad, had once been a Democrat and was now a Republican, and counted herself among the growing swath of people who occupied the fringes of American politics but were increasingly becoming part of the mainstream. Like millions of others, she believed that President Obama was a Muslim. And like so many she had gotten to know online through social media, she also believed that he was likely gay, that Michelle Obama could be a man, and that the Obama children were possibly kidnapped from a family now searching for them.

“So beautiful,” Melanie said as Ivanka Trump walked onto the convention stage to introduce her father, and soon the soaring score of the movie “Air Force One” was blasting through the TV. Melanie sat up straighter. This is what she had been waiting for.

“Here comes Big Daddy,” she said, clapping. “The Donald. Big Daddy.”

Trump supporters and conservative Christians must listen!

The All Families are Equal Act passed in Ontario yesterday. This means same sex parents, parents by surrogacy etc…will not have to adopt their own children.

The bill was passed unanimously by all members in attendance from all three parties.

The leader of the Progressive Conservative party in Ontario supports same sex marriage, supported this Bill, and is clear that he will not revisit social issues.

I am not a Conservative and cannot imagine a time in my life where I would vote Conservative as I have a different vision for policies, taxes, social services etc…

But amidst the world’s greatest superpower electing an ignorant, vacuous, demagogue surrounding himself with Neo Nazis to run the most powerful country on earth, I had a spark of hope that the arc is still bending towards justice and we are being the change that we want to see.

Liberals: “the government should be taking care of people for us, that’s the only help available to them”

Conservative: *currently financially supporting several charities that help the needy, also donates time and items* “Well I really don’t think the government should be involved and doing that. Government run programs are inefficient due to beaurocracy and red tape, they aren’t very effective, and see a lot of financial waste. Private charities are much more efficient and-”

  • Conservative: Trump isn't racist.
  • Me: Here's several times in which he stated very racist things and supported racism.
  • Conservative: Trump isn't against gay rights.
  • Me: If he isn't, why did he select Mike Pence as his running mate, who has advocated for conversion therapy as well as passed anti-LGBT legislation in Indiana?
  • Conservative: Trump doesn't hate women, he loves them. He just doesn't believe in abortion.
  • Me: If he loves women, why doesn't he respect them? Why does he say things like "grab them by the pussy"? Why doesn't he respect his daughter? Why does he only pay heed when a woman is attractive, and even then it's about seeing us as property, or as an object?
  • Conservative: The government isn't infringing on women's rights. You'll still have birth control.
  • Me: What about the bill that recently passed which no longer requires insurance companies to pay their copay on birth control, and also states that pre existing conditions will no longer be covered?
  • Conservative: this is all in your head. You're just upset that there's no more Obama.
  • Me: Here are several reliable news sources which back up the things I'm worried about.
  • Conservative: that's biased news.
  • Me:
  • Me:
  • Me: Are we in different dimensions or something?

Conservatives supported the flag that Roof flew proudly. They supported his ability to purchase a gun as quickly as he did. They say nothing against the racism against black America, and criticized the fact that Black lives matter. Yet when Roof goes and kills innocent black people, suddenly conservatives care?

You fuckin let this happen. You helped our culture reach this horrible state. Don’t pretend like you’re not part of this. Your actions speak way louder than your fake words.

As a white person who is feminist, I am really fucking disappointed in how my fellow white feminists are handling this shit with Tomi Lahren.

Her claiming to be pro choice does make her a feminist. Her being a woman does not erase all the bigotry she has espoused in the past. She doesn’t care about other women. She has made an entire career out of calling her peers special snowflakes and insulting everyone who doesn’t align with her close minded conservative beliefs.

In supporting her simply for being a woman, in spite of her toxic views, you are telling other marginalized women you care more about the so-called solidarity of womanhood than intersectionality. You are prioritizing a vocal bigot over your marginalized sisters. By supporting her, you are throwing women of color, lbpq women, and transgender women under the bus. And for what? Because an asshole had one good opinion admist the shit stream spewing from her mouth?

We are not here just to have solidarity with other white women and white female aligned people. Do fucking better.
