• what she says: i'm fine
  • what she means: in the first episode of voltron legendary defender coran says that the castle of lions is 10600 years old and that his grandfather built it. in the fifth episode when coran and hunk go to the balmera coran says his grandfather brought him to a balmera while he was building the castle of lions. coran and allura were in suspended animation for 10000 years. this implies that coran is over 600 years old. from the way he and allura interact in the second season we can conjecture that coran is in late middle age, or maybe early old age. how long is the average altean lifespan? how long is the average galra lifespan? zarkon was displeased but not surprised when his head druid told him allura was alive. exactly how unbelievable is it that they're both alive after 10000 years? is this why allura and coran acted like the paladins could easily free the entire known universe in their lifetimes? do allura and coran know how short human lifespans are? how

Okay but you know what’s a trait of Keith’s that I want to hear more of?

Show me his attention to detail.

Everyone jokes about his “conspiracy board” but nobody seems to consider it’s not a conspiracy board? Like- he put a map down and figured out roughly where the energy source was, and then specifically went to locations and triangulated his weird brain sense to isolate it down to a specific area, and then when that led him to the caves, he took photographs of seemingly all the pictures he could find and used strings to mark their positions in what caves.

There was other stuff there we don’t know why he put up (something he later tore down, and a star chart) but none of this suggests he was making wild leaps of logic or conclusions about whatever it “must be” and his recounting of it is all incredibly matter-of-fact. Virtually nothing is conjecture except the safest ones- “like some kind of energy was telling me to search,” which is rooted in his experiences and not something he can quantify though he clearly tried as much as he could to do so- “they all appear to tell a slightly different story about a blue lion” would suggest that he went over those pictures and carefully compare/contrasted them.

This suggests Keith is actually good at making detailed observations, and recording and organizing them in a very clear-cut accessible manner. This may well have taken him months to put together but he’s able to present it very quickly and effectively to the team.

Seemingly, something reinforced, because right after he sees Ulaz’s weapon and hears about what it’s for, we see him privately comparing it to the symbol on his own weapon.

List of Voltron Fanon things that aren’t Canon

At this point in fandom, we have some pretty strong headcanons and fanon going on, but I’d like to take the time to remind fans that a lot of it it is personal conjecture and fan theories.

the following things are strong theories that are actually not confirmed by official sources in any way

Pidge is trans / non-binary
Pidge has never been confirmed to be trans. Although many of her experiences reflect a coming-out story, none of this has been confirmed. The only thing that has happened in the show is her admission to the team that she is a girl, and that she was confused by alien bathroom signs.

Pidge is asexual
This is a headcanon of Pidge’s VA, Bex, and not confirmed

Pidge is snarky / a memer / ships everyone
She makes jokes in the show, but she isn’t deadpan, nor does she attack other team members for no reason. Her jabs usually only come when already provoked. She also shows very little interest in romance, her own or others.

Keith is Korean
This came from Dirty Laundry the fic, and the fact that Steven Yuen, Keith’s VA is Korean. Keith has not been confirmed to have any race so far. He hasn’t even been confirmed to be Asian. (Though it’s very likely that he is)

Keith is Texan
While Keith’s father in the flashback does have a southern accent, his location, and that of the Garrison have never been confirmed.

Keith is gay
Keith’s sexuality has not been confirmed. It is not ooc to pair him in fic and art with female characters, because it’s not established that he is canonically gay.

Keith, Lance and Hunk’s last names are Kogane, McClain and Garret
Not confirmed. These last names come from previous versions of the show and are used as fan placeholders until we know the real ones. The only confirmed last named are Takashi Shirogane and Pidge Gunderson / Katie Holt

Shiro and Keith are adopted siblings
Although they are said to be “like brothers” in the show and by the creators, there is no evidence that they were legally adopted together or shared life outside of the Garrison.

Everyone is mean to Lance
They’re just not? Lance has lower self-esteem than the rest of the team, but he doesn’t hate them and they don’t hate him. His rivalry with Keith is merely shallow bickering over petty things. he calls Keith his rival, not his enemy.

Lance’s mother is abusive / his sister is protective, etc
All portrayals of Lance’s family are fanon at this point since we have not seen them in the show besides the photograph in Lance’s mind in season 1.

Lance is abusive to Keith
Lance and Keith egg each other on, but neither has attacked the other to the point of real hurt. They compete, but neither feels like the other is an enemy.

Lance harasses women
When Lance flirts with alien girls, they are usually smiling and giggling, not giving him sour faces. Plaxum willingly kissed him. The princess in the comic books respected him. Allura dislikes his flirting, but Lance stops before he goes overboard.

Lance is bisexual
Lance’s sexuality has not been confirmed.

So, next time you’re reading a fic or looking at art and your instinct is to go “This is ooc!” flip back and think about what is actually in the show and what is just popular fanon right now. Something that doesn’t line up with your personal headcanon isn’t bad or wrong, it’s just someone else’s interpretation of the series.

EDIT: Before this takes off on a certain side of tumblr

There is absolutely no canonical evidence for romance between Shiro and Keith or Shiro and any of the other paladins. Shiro is 25. Keith is 17. Have a nice day.

one of the reasons why medieval English history is so well recorded is because we have almost all the financial account books from that time-period. Like not only did they write all that stuff down but it all survives for various reasons like England not having the kind of massive upheavals that result in a bunch of old records being lost or destroyed and the climate in the area doesnt disintegrate records over time etc.  In addition to telling you stuff like “oh a bunch of castles were being built in this area” you also get more personal stuff like “a lot of purchases registered under Queen Eleanor of Provence have to do with books whose titles indicate they are romantic stories about chivalry”

One of the cool things about historiography at least when it comes to the area of biography is how you can take that bare information about money expenditure and interpret it into a larger narrative. Like later on Eleanor’s son King Edward I showed a strong personal attachment to the myths of King Arthur. There are political aspects to him being an Arthurian enthusiasts but a lot of historians also theorize that his mother must have read to him stories about Arthur when he was a child since she was a heavy purchaser of chilvaric books and records also show she usually stayed in the same place as her child when he was young. Afaik there’s nothing that explicitly says “I, King Edward, was read Arthurian stories by my other when I was little” but its a very realistic conjecture given the evidence. Its a pretty small and minor example and you dont need all that creative to draw that connection but I think it works as an example of how history involves detective work and how you can draw out  relatable personable humans from rather dry sources and can understand a 13th century English king or 17th century Thai diplomat from the perspective of them being real people

A Game of Chess

This was a post in my drafts for a while now which I just came across and … thought it might be relevant to bring out.

The Chessboard symbolism has shown up many times throughout the series

Following the Cochlea/Rushima Island arc, Aogiri was exterminated and the old Kings- Arima and Tsuneyoshi- are now dead:

This marked the end of the previous game of Chess, where the CCG triumphed against Aogiri. And now we’ve started afresh with Kaneki and Furuta as the Kings of the new game

There are valid arguments for which character represents which colour piece- at this stage I’m thinking Kaneki as White King and Furuta as Black King (explained here [x])

Well back in :re chapter 38, there was a chessboard in Uta’s mask shop

I’m not sure if it will ever be relevant in that much detail but it’s interesting to take note of which pieces are in play and see if it will match any events. It may coincide with some events now, or in the future, or mean nothing at all but it’s kind of neat to take note now and look back on later.

So this is the set up on Uta’s board.

Just for reference, these are the symbols/pieces (because holy shit I kept getting the crown symbols mixed up):

  • The Black King has been chased into the corner and is being held there by the White Rook and Pawn. However, it is safe for the time being no matter what move the opponent makes- protected by the Black Queen and Rook. Even if it can’t move itself, it’s defenses are strong. Furuta himself has been put in a difficult situation with Hide, Marude and Matsuri’s coup.
  • The Black Queen is poised to take out those threatening the King. However, if it is White’s turn next she could be captured by the White Pawn- the ‘weakest’ piece attacking the ‘strongest’ piece on the board. Rize could be considered Furuta’s (unwilling) Queen, represented by the Oggai who have her kagune and are currently Furuta’s main ace in the sleeve.
  • The Black Knight is ready to take down the White Rook to protect the King or the Bishop (which could be a sacrificial move with the White Pawn diagonal). Ui, whose interest is riding horses, carries a spear/lance Quinque and has recently switched from wearing the white dove coat to Furuta’s new black uniform, could be considered his Knight.
  • The Black Rook is safe and protecting it’s King.
  • Notable captured Black pieces that are sitting next to the board on the table are the Knight, (possible) Bishop and a Pawn.

When Furuta announced himself as King, 4 characters were lined up in a row on the checkered floor:

It will be interesting to see if these are meant to reflect the pieces in that order on the board (Donato is an obvious choice for Bishop). Uta as Furuta’s Queen piece is an interesting concept.

  • The White King is safe and out of the way, with two Pawn soldiers at either side standing guard. Kaneki is currently away from the onslaught of the 24th Ward, surrounding by troops.
  • One White Rook is cornering the Black King but depending on which colour’s turn it is, may be in danger from the Black Queen or Knight. Alternatively, it may capture the Black Queen.
  • If Ui is the Black Knight, that makes Hirako the White Rook. Wouldn’t it be interesting if he were the Rook from the right side of the King, like Hirako was Arima’s right hand man.
  • The other White Rook is being held at bay in the corner. Both the Rook, Knight and Pawn haven’t moved from their starting positions as of yet- they’ve yet to make their move in the game.
  • One Pawn is cornering the Black King, another is in a position to capture the Black Queen if it is White’s turn.
  • Notable captured White pieces on the table are the Bishop and 2 Pawns.
  • The White side has also lost it’s Queen. If Kaneki is the White King, Touka is obviously the White Queen
  • Yet the White Queen piece is missing from the captured pieces on the table. That piece has disappeared. If we get a cliffhanger with Touka’s fate in upcoming chapters, well there we go.

All of this is pretty much conjecture considering there’s a high chance those pieces were placed there at random. Depending on how you look at it, many different characters could fit the situation of different pieces but these are just my main thoughts!

A recent story featuring a dubious claim about President Trump shows how left-leaning misinformation is beginning to pick up now that Trump has taken control of the White House.

Last week, Ilan Berman, the vice president of the American Foreign Policy Council, was on a panel discussion about Russia and Turkey’s interests in Syria. At one point Berman said the Kremlin had issued a detailed readout of President Putin’s call with President Trump, but the White House had not. Then he speculated about why that might have been the case.

“You always look for the readout of the phone call, whatever it is,” he said. “Did you guys notice there was no American readout of the phone call? There was none. They turned the tape recorder off. There was a Russian readout of the phone call.”

First, the White House did issue a readout of the call, though it was very brief. Second, the explosive claim about the tape recorder being turned off by the US side is not based on any specific knowledge on Berman’s part. He’s completely guessing. As he later said on Twitter, it was “conjecture.” He also said he doesn’t “know for a fact that they turned it off.”

On top of that, no one seems to be sure whether these calls are recorded or not. In response to a question about taping procedures, a White House spokesperson told BuzzFeed News that, “How these meetings are conducted is classified.”

Starbound Language Headcanons
  • Standard Apex language looks and sounds something like a mix of Slavic and Germanic languages with an alphabet inexplicably including some human letters. Notably, there is only one surviving Apex language as other languages, including sign language, are forbidden. For this reason, rebel forces sometimes communicate in these “dead” languages, because the Miniknog are unlikely to understand them.
  • Hylotl language is one of the few things that miraculously survived the Florans’ genocide mostly unscathed. It uses a syllabary system very similar to Japanese kana. The characters are viewed as elegant and a symbol of Hylotl pride, making calligraphy a celebrated skill even in modern times. Pictograms and human loanwords have also recently become popular in media, sometimes even used without any accompanying Hylotl text.
  • Floran language is simplistic, generally including guttural noises and hissing. As is evident by their accents, the ‘s’ and ‘sh‘ sounds are universally emphasized, and pronouns do not exist. Instead, individuals refer to themselves just as “Floran“, and refer to others by their given names. Since Florans have no concrete written language, they, as per the usual, borrow from other species when needed.
  • The Glitch communicate in what is essentially verbal binary code, beeping that resembles morse code. To save time and paper space, their alphabet is made up of symbols rather than numbers, each representing a certain amount of ones and/or zeros in a binary word. Their spoken language lacks inflections, hence why it is specified before each statement. Since they are trapped in the same stage of civilization, their language has no way of evolving.
  • Avians have two main languages that, while similar when spoken, have vastly different alphabets. The first is pictographic and believed to be the original Avian language that developed naturally. The second was supposedly given to them long ago by Kluex, and resembles Arabic. Most of “the grounded“ use the former while the latter is considered holy and only permitted for religious purposes.
  • Novakids have the least conventional language of all, since they obviously have no mouths to speak of. Instead, their metal brands vibrate to produce audible frequencies that sound vaguely like a crystal glasses being played. The vibration is so slight that it is invisible to the naked eye, and while other species can hear the sound, the subtle differences in tone and inflection are indecipherable without a translator. Like the Floran, they have no written language of their own, or at least not one that has lasted more than a few generations.
Memeing Into the Void: The Case That We Have Entered The Last Stage of Internet Culture

Conjecture: Internet culture, specifically meme culture, can be roughly divided into distinct movements associated with time periods, much in the same way that paintings can be categorized into their respective art movements. Here’s my best attempt at doing so:

The Original Meme Era (1993-2009): The foundational period of modern internet culture, the creation of the first internet memes, characterized mostly by sincere attempts at humor: lolcats, fails, rick rolling, rage comics etc.

The Ironic Meme Era (2010-2014): Internet memes become mainstream and accessible by popular media, in response meme elitism and ironic memes are born, characterized by parodies of other memes: dank memes, Dolan, ironic fandoms (Shrek, Bee Movie), montage parodies etc.

The Post-Ironic Meme Era (2015-2016): anti-memes, multiple layers of irony, memes begin to take on depressive and nihilistic overtones, irony and sincerity begin to become blended together and ambiguous: deliberate shitposting, bone hurting juice, bottom text, I have crippling depression etc.

The Last Meme Era (2017- )

Conjecture: There is an upper limit on how meta you can get; there are only so many levels of irony you can stack on top of each other before your conceptual framework implodes on itself. Let’s set aside the fact that Reddit is the Lyme disease of the internet for a moment and take r/Circlejerk as an example. The sub was created to humorously criticize the perceived manner in which greater Reddit had become a masturbatory echo chamber devoid of meaning or purpose. Naturally, it was only a matter of time before r/Circlejerk itself became an echo chamber, except this time with an even bigger superiority complex. Thus r/metaCirclejerk was created to make fun of the people making fun of reddit.  Naturally, r/metametaCirclejerk was formed next… but that’s the end of the series; there is no r/metametametaCirclejerk. This would be unnecessary and redundant, because once you get this many layers removed you lose track of who and what you’re responding to. The bottom drops out; r/metametaCirclejerk is much more about playing with the idea of meta-criticism on the Reddit platform rather than a direct mockery of r/metaCirclejerk itself. To put it more simply, I’m positing that once you get to about three layers of irony in any given media, the meaning begins to fall apart and you can go no further. This principle explains why we are currently in the final iteration of internet culture.

What is the Last Meme Era? It is nothing more than the self-cannibalization of the meme. Notice that every meme era is a direct response to the previous era, but there is no and can be no response to the Last Meme Era. The internet is bathing in its own digestive juices. To reject the Last Meme Era is in itself an expression of the movement.

This example is quintessentially representative of the Last Meme Era. Consider how many layers of culture you have to be familiar with to even understand what it means. The John C Miller meme itself exists exclusively as corruptions of other memes and furthermore is an anti-humorous rebuttal to the appropriation of internet memes by a private corporation for profit. The meme this image is based on (bone hurting juice) also exclusively exists as modifications of other memes, and is arguably a neo-dadaist celebration of nonsense. Finally, the original web comic is a morbid parody of a children’s book.

Conjecture: Culture is inseparable from the society that creates it, and this includes internet culture; every new meme created is fundamentally the product of late stage capitalism. As of 2014 less than one out of every four films released isn’t a reboot/remake, sequel/prequel, part of a franchise, or otherwise based on another work of media, and it’s only gotten worse since then. There are no new ideas, only perversions and corruptions of previous ideas; creativity has been crushed out of us in supplication to the profit motive. Society is eating itself. The 8 richest people in the world own more wealth than the bottom 3.7 billion. Quite literally all the money in the world wouldn’t be enough to pay off the world’s debt. Corporations are murdering their own customer base and then bemoaning that there’s no one left to buy their products.

Meme culture is necessarily a reflection of society, and as a society we can’t tell if and when we’re serious anymore. The president of the United States is a reality television star who is incapable of stringing more than one complete sentence together. Is this an extended joke? Does it even matter? The nation has been coopted by fascists who choose to represent themselves with a cartoon frog. We live in a post-truth world now, the public has stopped even pretending to care about reality anymore. I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness, starving hysterical naked. Mental illness is a societal problem as much as it is a psychological one; everyone has become badly sick so how can we be surprised that despair is now a meme? And what the fuck is vaporwave?

Culture has stagnated. There is nowhere to go from here but revolution or extinction. We are all memeing into the void; this is the Last Meme Era.

Altean Lance Heart Crystsal AU

(Not really sure what dif btw the submissions are but here we go)Got some AU ideas I’d love to share and don’t know where to put!

I love Altean Lance AUs and angst. All conjecture is based off of how Allura has canonically shown that she has a lot of energy that she is able to use to form wormholes and to help heal the Balmera.

Soooo, I love the idea of Altean Lance (being Allura’s sister). In my AU, Royalty having more quintessence or purer/more powerful quintessence. Quintessence can be strengthened when an Altean is in love and when an Altean dies, they’re heart turns into a heart crystal full of quintessence that would traditionally be buried (with the body) on their planet and thus return energy to the planet they live on. Going off this.

Imagine Altean Prince Lance falling in love with Lotor and Lotor originally courting him because he had been instructed to by his father to try and make Lance fall in love with him and trust him so his quintessence would grow and ultimately Zarkon planned to assassinate him for the heart crystal. Lance is the purer and more trusting of the two siblings and he’s very charming and nice despite his flirtatious characteristics and Lotor eventually does fall in love with Lance for real. But he doesn’t know how to stop his father or feels it’s futile and too late for him to do anything. Zarkon doesn’t know Lotor has truly fallen in love with Lance and tells him to kill Lance when they go off on a date or vacation. Lotor’s conflicted since he wants to please his father, whom never really payed attention to him, but he also loves Lance.

Lotor isn’t able to kill Lance on their date and Zarkon is mad, but has contingency plans in place already. He never did trust his half-breed son. Zarkon intercepts them as Lance and Lotor return to Altea and kills Lance in front of Lotor. Lance’s heart crystal is the brightest anyone has seen in decafeebs and Lance’s death is what starts the Altean vs. Galran war. Lotor gets knocked out and put in cryo sleep so he can’t interfere.

Feel free to add to the idea or change it XD. I just like the heart crystal/quintessence idea and worked it into ansty Lancelot.

@artofkazukid (The submitter)

OKay but Lotor casts a spell before hes sealed away so that Lance will regenerate, Lance’s quintessence somehow gets to earth and manifests itself into a human. Enter Lance, the Lance we know. He doesn’t understand why he feels a connection to the planet Coran describes, or Allura. But once Lotor sees him, Lotor gasps.

“Lance, my lalet, you’re alive? The spell worked!” Hes overjoyed, at this point having taken a shocked Lance into his arms, crying about him.

Allura is shook, realizing what this meant. So is Coran. No one knows what this is going to mean for them.

Scrooge’s Grief for Della Duck (An Essay):

A.K.A. Scrooge McDuck grieves and misses his niece Della, but has tried to bury that pain for the past ten years.

DuckTales handled Scrooge’s grief for Della wonderfully for me.

His grief isn’t apparent like Donald’s, or the consequences of her disappearance aren’t obviously shown as it is with Donald. His overprotectiveness comes from losing his sister.

Scrooge’s a man constantly on guard with his feelings. It’s like pulling  teeth out when it concerns him opening emotionally. He doesn’t want to appear vulnerable, and this is a feature from the comics. Pride and fear keeps his emotions close and under his heart. His hidden grief for Della, or rather her absence, and the subsequent rift it caused in his family, is in-character.

But this could be guilt as well. I have the opinion he may believe he’s responsible for TSPoS incident despite what he tells Donald.

This essay is currently over 2,000 words long, so I understand if you’re not interested in reading. These are my personal observations after rewatching the pilot movie on Youtube (it’s DisneyXD’s official channel), and from my personal readings of Don Rosa and Carl Barks’ comics, which have been a while. I plan to reread Carl Barks as soon as I can as well as catch up with the European comics.

Disney isn’t holding any punches for this show. It was a 23 hour marathon for the pilot movie. Thanks, Disney.

Necessary gun control reminder after the Finland attack:

Only one person in Turku died, because it was a stabbing spree and not a shooting spree.  If this had been in the US, there would have been far more fatalities, which isn’t conjecture – we can see that from our pattern of mass shootings.

Irrational supporters of an unchecked Second Amendment will continue to peddle the fantasy that an armed populace would have prevented that person from being murdered, because after the attacker had stabbed a few people, some vigilante with perfect aim would have taken him out if everyone was armed.

One, that’s demonstrably false because we regularly have interviews here in the US after a shooting where the “good guys with a gun” did *not* shoot because they didn’t want the police to be confused about the identity of the real criminal, and they weren’t sure where they should be shooting anyway.

Two, an armed populace means *everyone* is armed – the good guys and the bad guys.  Your “good guy with a gun” can’t prevent a stabbing when that attacker also has a gun and has already shot five people in the time it would have taken to stab one.

This is what a violent attacking spree looks like in a developed country with appropriate respect and restrictions on guns.  You can’t change human nature and you can’t prevent some humans from going rogue and turning violent.  What you can do is restrict access to machinery built for the purpose of killing in order to mitigate the damages and loss of life.

Carmilla Movie Theory

You’ve asked me to tell you a story, to weave you a theory. My inbox sings with your requests to try and jumble everything together. You ask. I’ll deliver.

I’ll give it my best shot because there’s nothing I like more than a challenge. We’re sticking to the usual plan of trying to make the most ridiculous but still kinda plausible theory possible. To start us off, here’s what canon information I have to work with.

  1. The Existing Carmilla Mythos - So we naturally have everything from the 3 seasons to work with. You’ve seen the web series. You know.
  2. The Original Trailer - This is the one on the beach that announced the movie. Frankly, I’m curious as to how much of this will actually apply because from my understanding it was put together before they had a script. As a scene, it’s probably cut.  I’m treating the information as canon because I don’t have enough material to be cutting ANY of it.
  3. The New Cast Information - Literally yesterday, we received the names of three new cast members. Seeing as I’m going to make the case that these are all literary references (stay tuned) just their names alone give me info. They are:
    1. Emily Bronte
    2. Charlotte Bronte
    3. The Woman In Black

Now we do our magical conjecture and fun fact building to try and whip it all together into a coherent story. Basically, I’m going to write you a movie because I’m a novelist at heart and a story structure buff. We’re going to try and figure out what we can expect when the movie releases in the fall (?). Buckle up, creampuffs.

This is going to get 7k words worth of messy from parents to exes to fish gods to old school novellas.

Earlier I made a post about about the differences between a record company, record label, imprint label and distribution deal (x). A lot of anons had a lot of questions, so rather than answer them individually, here is an FAQ re: the structure of the music industry.

Why do we not know how Louis is releasing music yet?

Just Hold On was released jointly between Steve Aoki’s label (Utra Music) and Syco. Because it was not a traditional collaboration (Artist A feat. Artist B) and was instead a ‘duet’ (Artist A and Artist B), it doesn’t indicate how Louis will release solo music going forward. No announcement has been made, and we can speculate as to why, but any explanation is conjecture and not fact.

Is it still possible that Louis also has a distribution deal?

Yes. I personally think it would be unlikely for an artist to have both an imprint and a distribution deal, but it is theoretically not impossible. Moreover, aside from the occasional murmurings from the girl band, Triple Strings hasn’t come to fruition in any meaningful way. If the imprint is abandoned, there’s every chance that he’ll have a distribution deal in the same way the other guys do.

Is it a good thing that 3 of the 4 guys have distribution deals?

Yes. Distribution deals offer more freedom, control and most importantly, they usually don’t mandate how many albums the artist has to make in order to have fulfilled their contract. This makes it easier for the guys to stop making solo music and continue working as a band as and when they want to, and to then go back to making solo music as and when they want to.

Can imprints have different owners to record labels?

Yes, as long as they have owners in common. Imprint is not a legal term, there isn’t a legal structure associated with it, so it can mean almost anything a label wants it to mean. Triple Strings is an imprint simply because it has been called an imprint and has been associated with Syco.

What is an independent record label?

It’s a label of any size which isn’t owned by a record company. They’re sometimes called ‘indies’ and have a reputation for producing alternative music which isn’t as mainstream as that which comes out of the Big 3 (a name for the three record companies). They can sometimes be very mainstream though, Adele, for example, is signed to XL Recordings, which is an independent label. They historically do not have as much money to spend on music as labels which are owned by a record company.

What do the percentages on the diagram mean?

They indicate what share of the market each record company has, and they’re rounded up to the nearest ten.

This feels over-complicated, why does the industry work like this?

Because of capitalism and the free market.

How do you know all of this?

Because I used to write about music, and even before then I’ve always been both a music enthusiast and someone who wants to know how everything works. All of this information is easily available online, it’s just often expressed in an unnecessarily dense way.

You have nice handwriting.

Thank you, I think so too.

Mycroft was a brain just like his mother, and at his adult age he was the British government on his own. Eurus was the psychopath one, presumably dead by then. Sherlock was a scientist, a philosopher even, and the world’s only consultant detective while his twin sister, (Y/N), worked as forensic investigation along with Greg Lestrade.

Sherlock couldn’t be prouder of his twin sister, because “someone needed to show the British police how to do it properly”. Meanwhile, Mycroft was a little reluctant about her choice of career because it was quite dangerous. But the Holmes Twins loved danger and were too stubborn to change their minds once they got an idea inside their heads.

It was known that once they got together, there was not a single case that could be left unsolved – except for the unsolved ones, but they refused fervently to talk about those – and so they got involved in all kinds of trouble together.

She was the only one Sherlock actually gave credit too. Mostly because they were basically the same and denying her cleverness would be equal to denying his own cleverness, but also because she was his best friend, companion, partner in crime, and every other brotherly-term one can come up with.

Thoughts on the Eredar Alphabet

So I referenced a couple things on Argus (and just Argus, so I don’t know about any draenei scripture elsewhere) to put together an abbreviated version of the Draenei (or Eredar) alphabet. There’s a scroll called “Ancient Eredun Scroll” that gives you a buff and looks like it has draenic letters on it:

A house in the starting area of Krokuun also has sigils etched into its walls that are very similar to the symbols found on the scroll:

Interestingly, it looks like the characters can be flipped any which way. If you look closely enough at the scroll, half of it is mirrored and some other characters have been flipped upside down. This also happens in the house because the characters get mirrored onto the opposing wall. Now, I’m not a linguist, and the use of mirroring could definitely be chalked up to game design efficiency, but it would be cool if in their alphabet, flipping the character in a certain direction made it a completely different letter/have a completely different meaning. Also, because so many of the characters have small components (radicals, if you will) in common, I’d conjecture that you could add or subtract those from other characters and change them that way. Say you add a circle or a line here and there and voila! Different meaning.

I took a quick look at the sigils on Xe’ra’s model and the Warframes, too.

They are Naaru symbols, so I’m hesitant to include them, but the Naaru probably had a sizable influence on early draenei society, since they gave them the original Ata’mal crystal.
