G2BBESTENDINGEVER- Take a bow

How should I begin to describe how I felt about the ending and about the entire teleserye?

Let me start by saying that Got To Believe’s Finale was the CUTEST and most satisfying ending I have watched in Filipino television. This may not be a popular opinion as I have found a lot of reactions regarding the ending. But for me, I was satisfied.

The final act of Juliana at the cemetery was heartbreaking. Even though she caused Chichay and her family so much pain, I still felt sorry for her. (I have to thank Carmina for that because she is a SUPERB actress) I knew that she was a good person (very deep down) but she was driven mad by her insecurities, jealousy, and guilt. Once she was stripped off that, she was just a lost girl who wanted so much to be loved. I was moved by what Joaquin told her. That it didn’t matter what she has done in the past, because what mattered was that she will be there for him for the rest of his life. I was crying legit tears as Daniel said those words.

Joaquin deserved to have a whole and happy family. He wished for that when he was still batang poopoo inside the magic box. After the time skip, his wish was realized. His parents got married again, and this time, they are brought together by love and not by obligation.

At the wedding, we see the different faces of love:

Love Learned: Chito/Betchay and Jaime/Juliana
Love That’s Let Go: Patricia’s feelings for Dominic, and Alexa’s for Ryan
True Love That Was Fought For: Joaquin/Chichay

And of course, Joaquin’s Best Magic Ever. Who would have expected that proposal? Kids, teens, adults, and even the elderly probably felt kilig with what Joaquin did, and I absolutely loved it. His proposal was true to his character- creative, quirky, and original.

Chichay’s reaction also made it all the more endearing. From her pleading “baba na” to her panicked reaction, to her irritation “bad joke, bad joke!”- everything was in character. Her reaction is so real and so relatable, especially since she had lost Joaquin once. Everything about that proposal was so cute and millions had fallen in love again with Chichay and Joaquin.

Chichay’s speech about her best ending ever and her unmistakable “oo na!” sealed the deal. It was indeed, the best ending ever for Chichay and Joaquin. So yes, I believe that the hashtag was appropriate. It just meant something different. It didn’t mean the best ending ever of any Filipino teleserye. It was Chichay and Joaquin’s best ending ever. But I think, it should probably be the best happy ever after. <3

It is a little bittersweet to be writing about Got To Believe’s ending knowing that next week, I won’t have anything to look forward to that is KathNiel-related. But as they said, all good things must come to an end so that better things will take its place.

Congrats to the whole Got To Believe team (cast and crew). It was a GREAT run and this teleserye will forever remain in the hearts of many Filipinos worldwide. In fact, it might even reach international audience if rumors of it airing in other countries are true. :) Congrats and kudos to everyone! <3

P.S. The “I love you’s” just melted my bones. I mean, look at them! If I didn’t know any better, I’d say that Daniel and Kath were the ones saying their “I love you’s”
