“I sometimes wonder if Himaruya even researched some countries’ relations. Like Switzerland and Liechtenstein happen to have very positive relations with Austria despite poking fun of each other. Same with Belarus and Lithuania. Then again, he makes most of Asia be in good terms with Japan in modern times. Also, stop reblogging shit about Liechtenstein beating Austria. It’s not making her into a badass, it’s making her into an unsympathetic bitch and a boring ass feminist ‘ideal’ figure.“
Actually, in the strips, Liechtenstein does like Austria and wishes he and Switzerland would get along better. And in Hetaween 2011, Belarus was much nicer to Lithuania and he’s the one who has to stop her from raging at Denmark.
Most of the “feminists” today wouldn’t know real feminism if it hit them right in the face like a sack of bricks. I’m not even feminist (I prefer the term “equalist” because my stance is anti-discrimination) but God I feel insulted when I see them abuse the name.
Hence why I call these faux pas tantrummy brats ”femishits”. Because calling them feminist is an insult to actual feminists that can be both men andwomen. Hayao Miyazaki has been called one fondly by his staff and people do praise his works for being quite feminist and appropriately, too: since his girl protagonists and characters aren’t bitchy faux action girls who scream and punch everything, and mature to lovely young women who are respectful and deserve that respect.
ok i´m not in the JS fandom but i really like this character and from what i read i had to draw him so here´s it! also thank u @markired for the follow i didn´t expect u to do that like i freak out haha but seriously thank u!! i would like to share some theories with u someday :)
“I seriously don’t understand why Himaruya ever decided to portray Turkey with a mask. His culture nor the history (including Ottoman Empire’s too) has nothing to do with masks, and makes me wonder if maybe he added the mask to give a hint of his emotions?“
I honestly thought it’d be the other way around - that he wore a mask to hide his emotions. (And he probably wears it because he thinks it’s fashionable, too. XD)
