confused harry

you can rest easy knowing hedwig was well looked after in the afterlife; it was confusing and terrifying and sad at first but a little while after arriving she felt a light weight on her head and looked up to find her boy, harry potter, staring warmly down at her and smoothing out her feathers, just like he always did

except… he had hazel eyes? and he looked a bit older than hedwig remembered, and who was that red-haired woman with him?

hedwig is confused again. but harry is here, and all is well, so she tucks her head under her wing and falls fast asleep.

  • Ravenclaw 1: What time is it?
  • Ravenclaw 2: 6.
  • Ravenclaw 1: AM or PM?
  • Ravenclaw 2: I don't even know, did we just have dinner or breakfast?
  • Ravenclaw 1: *shrugs*

I live for the headcanon that somebody (I’ll leave you to decide who) cursed all of Harry’s classmates so they’re in love with him for the day

And then he bumps into Draco and he thinks oh god this is going to be so weird

And Draco just acts like Draco, smirking and sneering “Potter”

Harry is confused and tells a recovering (and embarrassed) Hermionie about it the next day

And Hermionie just stares at Harry, and then gets up and leaves.

Life Without You

Part Two

It was odd, really. He pretended that you meant nothing to him, like he’s never met you before. He gave you that warm smile, introducing himself, saying it was a pleasure to meet you. You would think that he would at least show some kind of emotion. Sadness, hurt, joy, anything. His lack of emotion was getting on your nerves.

Maybe he forgot who you were. No, no that couldn’t be it. He knew exactly who you were and what he was doing to you. The question is, why? Why is he torturing you? Did it give him some kind of sick pleasure?

Then it happened.

You didn’t expect it, at all. Your heart breaking into smaller pieces. This is my girlfriend, Megan. Megan, this is (Y/N), an old friend. An old friend? Is that all you were to him? You looked over at her, instantly regretting it. She was perfect, much skinnier than you, taller, prettier, absolutely stunning. Of course Harry would fall for someone as amazing as her and not you. You were boring, nothing unique. It hurt much more than you’d ever admit.

Imagine first year Harry Potter looking for Fred and George to see if they want to have a snowball fight with him and Ron and finding an odd piece of parchment lying in their room.

Imagine first year Harry Potter picking the parchment up and examining it, because he’s learning that in the wizarding world nothing is ever as it seems, not even old pieces of parchment.

Imagine first year Harry Potter tapping his wand to the parchment to see if anything happens and, to his surprise, seeing thin, angular writing appear as if written by an invisible hand.

Imagine first year Harry Potter’s excitement when the parchment reads: Mr. Prongs asks who is trying to uncover the carefully guarded secrets of the Marauders.

Imagine first year Harry Potter whispering “My name is Harry Potter and I didn’t mean to pry,” before hurriedly trying to refold it and return it to where he’d found it

Imagine first year Harry Potter’s astonishment when the writing reappears, this time saying: Let Mr. Prongs share his immense joy that Harry Potter has found this. He hopes that Harry will find the contents of this parchment useful and use it in a way that would make his father proud.

Imagine first year Harry Potter’s smile sliding off his face as he says quietly, “I don’t know. My father’s dead, you see.

Imagine first year Harry Potter’s confusion when the writing appears once again, saying: Mr. Prongs wishes to tell Harry Potter that while his father may be dead, he is still looking out for him and is incredibly proud of him. Mr. Prongs hopes that Harry Potter knows his father loves him very much.

Imagine first year Harry Potter taking the map back to his dormitory and spending the rest of the evening talking to the mysterious Mr. Prongs about his mother and father, about whom the invisible man seems to know quite a bit.

But Harry could still potentially hang out in the Slytherin Common room and Draco would just sneer at whoever gives him a stupid comment about it, and eventually people would just get used to it, being like “Hey Potter, how´s it going?” or “Did you already finish your homework for potions? I heard Granger lets you copy hers, can I maybe have a look at it?”and everything would be good. Harry would probably always want to sit in front of the fireplace and Draco, who usually sits in one of the cozy chairs near the windows, finally gives in and starts getting comfy, lounging around on the sofa. IT COULD ALL BE GOOD.

Also massive shoutout to the two lovely beans @carryonsimoncarryon and @baz-n-simon who basically made me ship it (do I ship it? Do I not ship it? I´m still so confused about it)
