I want to become better for myself. I want to become healthier, mentally and physically. I don't want to wear loads of make up anymore. I need help. And I wanna clear my skin, I want healthier hair, I want softer skin on my body, I just want to be more natural and feel much better about myself. I want thicker eye brows. But what do I do? Where do I start? How do I start? And what are some of the things I'll need?
i think it’s important to see the connectedness of mental & physical health, & to start with mental health! speaking from personal experience, focus on physical health can sometimes be rooted in something wrong with our mental health, & it shouldn’t be ignored. i think that focusing on mental health first will help you see improvement in every facet of yourself. eating healthy helps cultivate positive moods, exercise boosts esteem, & mentally exercising yourself is extremely beneficial.
tips for wearing less products on the face & focusing on healthier skin: think of what your essentials are & throw the rest out or don’t buy once you run out, challenge yourself to go bare half of the week & then more, identify your skin type & buy products specifically recommended for your skin, exfoliate for softer skin & use an oil (coconut oil & shea butter combination is good for soft skin, jojoba oil, etc). have patience! with skin, there can be a number of reasons for why it isn’t clear. when i started liking skincare & taking care of my skin, i had to take note of what i ate, how much water i drank, my cycle, etc. it’s taken 2 years of constant research & experiments to get my skin to be consistently clear. now i’m giving my focus to healthier hair, but i’m still learning.
tips for healthier hair: use conditioning cleansers instead of shampoo that contain sulfates, oil condition before cleansing, minimize heat, give constant moisture to your ends & scalp through water or oil, do protective styles to help growth, cut off dry or damaged ends!
