3 new complexions are up over at my complexion compendium!

emily - colour corrected with original brow shape but made a bit bushier!

emily with dark brows - same as above but with dark brows

biftu - I could not for the life of me get the brows to sit right (as you can see in the pic!)  on the default preset. not even after 9 attempts, so i included pics of it on other presets where it seems to work better? How to Cover Dark Circles / Using a Corrector 101

A corrector is the best item to use to cover dark circles! If you use a concealer it will help cover but a corrector will cancel out the discoloration. Interview with Elizabeth Mitchell || US Weekly (December 8 issue)

What’s in my bag?
Once Upon A Time star Elizabeth Mitchell, 44, tips her tote for Us.

Mitchell has fallen under the spell of natural remedies. “My doctor got me hooked on an herbal immune booster,” says the Lost alum, who plays Ingrid the Snow Queen on ABC’s fairy-tale series.
“It’s a mix of echinacea and goldenseal root, and I’ve been known to pour it directly into the mouths of my castmates!” The mom of CJ, 9, shows Us all of the cool loot in ther Coach satchel.
AN OPEN BOOK
“Right now I’m carrying a collection of essays called “Wild Comfort: The Solace of Nature”. The way Katheleen Dean Moore writes is so breathtaking. It’s a bit of magic that you want to sit down and savor.”
MAGIC POTIONS
“Yon-ka makes a smoothing serum that I use on my face, neck and arms – mostly because it smells so amazing! I also need Kate Somerville’s complexion-correcting sunscreen. It’s not drying at all.”
GOOD ON PAPER
“I have a Pilot Precise V7 pen. With a big pen, my writing looks all jumbled like a doctor’s – but if I use a fine tip, it’s artistic.”
LOUT MOUTH
“I love Nars lipstick in Catfight. The pink can be kind of intense, so I mix it with Paw Paw ointment to tone the color down.”
KNIT WIT
“I always have an emergency slouchy hat for those days when my naturally curly hair shouldn’t be seen in public!”

Thanks to Tiffany for this!

Happy new year! What are your tips for concealing dark under-eye circles (which I have all the time, not just when I'm tired unfortunately) I read so much conflicting info regarding the best concealing colours to use etc.

Use a corrector.
If you use a concealer it will help cover but a corrector will cancel out the purple/blue undertone. Then you can apply a concealer/foundation over it and it will actually cover the darkness!
You want a salmon concealer if they are blue/purple.
You want a orange concealer for extreme blue (also aimed for people with a darker complexion).
You want a yellow concealer for extreme purple.

Salmon:

  • Bobbi Brown Corrector (comes in bisque and peach ranges)
  • Eve Pearl Corrector
  • Tarte colored clay CC undereye corrector
  • Benefit Erase Paste
  • MAC Studio Finish Corrector in Light Peach, Burnt Coral (for blush palettes)
  • MAC Studio Conceal and Correct Duo (two lighter shades)
