completely unrelated to the post yes

The dwarves’ physical state in the Halls of the Maker corresponding to their mental state though-

  • It takes decades for Thorin’s wounds to heal and they break open at the most unexpected moments. The worst was when he saw Kíli in the Halls for the first time. He is never fully whole again, although it does a lot for him to finally receive his sister’s forgiveness. The moment the last of his wounds, the one on his forehead, is completely gone is the moment when Dwalin, the last of the Company to die, finally joins them and feigns a punch in his face and then hugs him so hard he thinks his bones will break. (It is then that Balin’s wounds finally heal too, he who had sat in the Halls for hours with Thorin, talking about how they had both let go of their lives when there would have been so much more to live for)
  • Thrór’s throat kept bleeding for so long that he took to wearing clothes with high collars in the Halls. It takes his family a long time to bring him back to where he was - and only when both Thráin and his three grandchildren arrive and tell him just how much he meant to them despite everything that had happened does he dare to wear more open clothes again.
  • Everybody thinks Fíli is okay. He puts on a brave face, spends a lot of time with his brother, his family and tries to comfort his uncle. Nobody sees when he withdraws to his chambers from time to time, hand coming away bloody when he presses it to his chest under the clothes because he still thinks he failed them all. It is Frerin who finally picks up on it first (apart from Kíli of course, but Kíli knows everything anyway) and takes him aside for a talk, a small patch of blood blossoming on his own chest where the arrow had hit home so long ago for a moment.
  • Kíli always laughs, looks unharmed and brightens everyone’s mood. He is everywhere at once, meets family members from all branches long dead that he is never known - he seems as alive in death as he ever was. Only sometimes, when he looks at his brother and his uncle, who shouldn’t be here, who he thinks he should have protected because he is the spare, it should have been him who died, not them- he flinches slightly, hand rubbing over his chest where Bolg’s weapon had found its mark.
  • Dáin has tumbled in the Halls with a curse on his lips, but his wounds that still oozed blood for hours after he has woken up - he left them alone in the midst of battle, selfishly withdrew and died when nothing was safe yet - close up quickly when he hears a quiet grunt and a giant boar throws him to the ground, rubbing his enormous face on his clothes and he sees the smiling faces of those who await him.
  • Dís follows him not long after, fallen, too, defending the mountain her kin died for. She lightly punches Thorin only moments after Dáin did and her brother carries a brighter smile than he has worn in decades when she’s finally there. Her wounds had closed the moment she had woken up - she knows she has given everything she had for the mountain and her people and could go in peace, to finally be reunited with her family and friends again.

Chatted from a post on a feminist group calling out terfs, he asked “m or f” and I said I wasn’t.
[transcript:
Random Cis: neither?
Me: neither.
RC: Do you have a cock or vagina
M: That’s a little personal, don’t you think?
RC: Not really we all have something
M: Yes we all have “something”, doesn’t mean I’m down to discuss my genitals with someone who will never see them, in a completely unrelated conversation.]

Okay I just wanna say this about the tumblr tag video.

The art was not meant to be seen by Dan and Phil obviously. It was meant for fans and made by fans. Some people reposted art and basically showed it to Dan and Phil, who it was not meant for.

The comments they made about all the art could be interpreted as rude. However, even if the art is not meant for them, it still shows them in sometimes very graphic situations. If they were making jokes about how weird someone’s art is when the art is something completely unrelated to the phandom and them, then yes their comments would be disrespectful. But one of the drawings had Dan literally naked and tied up by his best friend. It made them uncomfortable because it was porn of them made by complete strangers. They have the right to comment on it, they have the right to be made uncomfortable by it.

I saw another post saying that Dan and Phil paint their fans to be creepy and immature. When someone over the Internet draws you completely nude, yes you would be creeped out. When strangers over the Internet are freaking out that you may or may not be in a relationship with your best friend, it is a little immature. Not saying immaturity is a bad thing.

So yes. It sucks that people had their art stolen. It sucks that people drew this art and it was seen by eyes that it was never intended for. But when those people who it wasn’t intended for do see the art, they have the right to be either joyed or disgusted by it as much as anyone else. No one can expect anyone who sees literal graphic porn to not have an emotional response, that’s the whole reason it was made in the first place. Phanart and phanfiction is great, it’s an excellent outlet of creativity. It’s meant for the people involved in the fandom, but anyone else on the Internet might see it at any time.

Sorry if this doesn’t make sense my thoughts are very jumbled.

even if shippers aren’t posting in the anti tag (which is still an issue, but not everyone has been doing that), they shouldn’t be posting in the main tags?

if you are actively aware of how harmful your ship is, and if you are actively aware that is torture and abuse, and if you are actively aware that other people are hurt by it (and you allow other people to be hurt by it), you shouldn’t be posting in the main tags. like, stay out of the “tfa” tag, stay out of the “star wars” tag, stay out of the “rey” and “kylo” tags.

and yes, i understand that fandom is not an inherently safe space, but people should be able to find safety in the “s/tormpilot” tag without seeing r/eylo. there are r/eylo posts with completely irrelevant tags listed on them, most of which are more general star wars tags; people should be able to scroll through those tags without seeing something absolutely unrelated to it.

maybe i would be complaining less if the first page of the “kylo ren” tag wasn’t littered with over a dozen r/eylo posts; maybe i would be complaining less if the “tfa” tag was overcome with r/eylo fanart. if you know that your ship is abusive, and you acknowledge this, and you accept this, then don’t tag it in the general tags!

yes, i understand that you want recognition as a content creator, but consider: the safety of abused minors is more important. the safety of survivors is more important. the safety of any young people is more important.

so, yeah, don’t post in unrelated tags!
