comparative darkness

FMA Manga/Brotherhood Ed: Not only will I never make a Philosopher’s Stone, I will never use one that’s already been made, even though the damage is done and can never be reversed.

I’m so disgusted by the idea of it that I would rather be eaten by Envy than attack what’s left the people of Xerxes who all but died hundreds of years ago. When I do use some of those souls to escape starving to death in a river of blood, I’m going to be wracked with guilt about it, even though it was literally the only way for me to save my friend Ling and for me to return to my brother.

And will I use the remaining life force of a man I hate, who’s already been alive for way to long, who won’t be alive much longer, and who is offering his life up voluntarily to save the person in this world who I care about the most? Of course not! What a ridiculous idea! That would be wrong.

FMA 2003 Ed: In the end, I won’t end up murdering a whole room full of people to make a Philosopher’s Stone and save Alphonse…

..but I’m going to seriously consider it.

The fairy. She’s as good as her word. She ripped us apart.

Anti & Dark

Anti– animal, born and bred to be evil, natural hunter, hides away in shadows, moves quickly and abrupt, hardly seen but heard, filled with unstoppable adrenaline from his ‘chase’ causing uncontainable pleasure=laughing and giggling when making tricks and japes, ‘kill or be killed’, goes for the kill, no suffering for his prey= ‘gets the job done’, puerile= no logic or reason to his tactics and likely to blame others for his actions (e.g. “It’s all your fault!”)

Dark– human, twisted into evil by past experiences, stalks his prey, illusions and manipulation, luring victims into a trap, takes his time (e.g. “I’ve been waiting patiently.”), slow and careful movements, stable mined= able to contain excitement, two-faced, callous and sadistic, likes to watch his prey struggle, logical= sees himself as the alpha and a genius, likes to give options to trick and tease his victims (e.g. “I’ll give you a choice.”) just extending their suffering.

Top ten outfits from our favorite little pink hellspawn Chibiusa? I love all your top ten posts by the way, your top ten for Mamoru is honestly one of my fave tumblr posts

After much research and comparative data I have come to the conclusion that Chibiusa might actually be one of the most well-dressed characters in the show. The evidence is presented below.

10. I’m going to make perhaps a contentious claim and say that Chibiusa dresses herself better than either of her parents ever could. Look at how coordinated this is. I suppose when your mom and dad dress like they’re at a fairytale-themed pastel glitter wedding every single day, you learn to fend for yourself.

9. Casual Friday Baby on her way to The Office with some Important Business in her Official Briefcase

8. One of Chibiusa’s recurring fashion choices is what I like to call “the Hello Kitty thing” which is a small bow that picks up on the accent colors in the ensemble.

7. Laura Ingalls is SO jealous right now.

6. I know this shot is small but it’s the only one where you get a full view of the dress and see the giant black bunny patch. When Chibiusa layers, she layers with INTENTION.

5. My favorite American Girl doll was Molly, and all her clothes always came with outrageously specific hair ribbons that match the trim of one dress but can never be combined with any other outfit, ever, under penalty of just looking really dumb. That’s what this reminds me of.

4. V-neck for Victory!!!

3.  Again the socks and shoes are so perfectly coordinated that neither Usagi nor Mamoru could have had a hand in it, but what really tops off this look is the elusive Mona Lisa smile of those sweater-dwelling rabbits.

2. PERFECT execution of the Hello Kitty thing, 10/10. The blue outfit with the pink hair is like cotton candy attending a holiday party.

Kylo is a love interest, not Rey.

so like, a big argument against Reylo is that if Rey and Kylo got together Rey would lose her agency and become only the love interest or sacrifice her own narrative just to redeem Kylo but thats wrong (also why do people assume that is the only female role with a romance, but whatever). Rey is already the protagonist, we know this. Kylo however, is the character we want to fall in love, we want him to be inspired by Rey enough to start doing things right even if it takes awhile and she doesn’t accept him at first. if anything Reylo (in the way I think most people see it) consumes and changes Kylo’s arc, not Rey’s, she remains the hero and we don’t call it a redemption arc on Kylo’s side for nothing. Kylo is the one who changes, his character isn’t written as a true star wars villain and the son of han and leia isn’t just going to fall over and die, lol

The Romanov women who were celebrated as great beauties in their day:

Empress Elizaveta I Petrovna (1709-1762)

“She is a beauty the like of which I have never seen … an amazing complexion, glowing eyes, a perfect mouth, a throat and bosom of rare whiteness. She is tall in stature, and her temperament is very lively. One senses in her a great deal of intelligence and affability, but also a certain ambition.”

Empress Elizaveta Alexeievna (1779-1826)

“Her features were fine and even, and her face a perfect oval; her beautiful complexion was not high in colour but its delicacy was totally in keeping with her expression, one of angelic sweetness. Her fair ash coloured hair floated about her neck and forehead. She was dressed in a simple white tunic, gathered by a belt knotted simply around a waist slender as a nymph´s. This young woman appeared exactly as I have described her, standing against the backdrop of an appartment ornamented with classical columns and draped in pink and silver gauze; she looked so ravishing I cried out, “Psyche!” It was in fact Princess Elisabeth, wife of Alexander.”

Empress Alexandra Fyodorovna (1798-1860)

“The Empress is a tall graceful figure … her little head beautifully set and her expression pleasing and features regular, her hands and arms beautifully shaped and an air of imperial dignity and grace I never saw before. Her dress was perfect - simple and of dazzling whiteness, with a necklace, fringe, drops, etc. that I can only compare to dark blue glass eggs for never did I see their like.”

Grand Duchess Olga Nikolaevna (1822-1892)

“The Grand Duchess Olga, the second of the emperor´s daughter, has no rival in beauty among the Princesses of Europe, an in this instance, flattery, in asserting her to be the loveliest girl in her father´s dominion, scarcely outstrips the truth.”

Grand Duchess Alexandra Iosifovna (1830-1911)

[Alexandra] loved the Russian extravangance and magnificence, which was entirely in keeping with her extraordinary beauty, her marvelous hair in particular. A few considred that she resembled Mary Stuart, Queen of Scots, whose style of dress Sanny copied. All of Europe spoke of her astonishing jewels, of her pearl necklace, in which each pearl was the size of a nut. … [She] always took a passionate interest in anything which related to the beauty of other women. With typical feminine jealousy she would ask: “Who is the more beautiful, the Empress of Austria or I?” The Empress´s beauty was much praised, and the Grand Duchess Konstantin worried: “Is my hair as fine as the Empress´s? Don´t you think we have the same figure?”

Grand Duchess Elizaveta Fyodorovna (1864-1918)

“I like Ella very, very much. She is so feminine; her beauty is something I will never tire of. Her eyes are extraordinarily beautifully defined and her look is so calm and gentle. Despite her gentle nature and her shyness, one sense in her a certain self-assurance, a recognition of her own strength … [Her husband] was talking to me about his wife and he was enraptured by her, full of her praises.”

Princess Irina Alexandrovna (1895-1970):

“One day when I was out riding I met a very beautiful girl accompanied by an elderly lady. Our eyes met and she made such an impression on me that I reined in my horse to gaze at her as she walked on … [Another time] I had plenty of time to admire the wondrous beauty of the girl who was eventually to become my wife and lifelong companion. She had beautiful features, clear-cut as a cameo, and looked very like her father."

Grand Duchess Tatiana Nikolaevna (1897-1918)

“She’s a grand princess from head to toe, so aristocratic and regal. Her face is pale matte, only the cheeks are slightly rosy, as if pink satin is trying to escape from just under her thin skin. Her profile is flawlessly beautiful, as if cut from marble by a great artist.  The widely set eyes provide uniqueness and originality to her face.”

Grand Duchess Maria Nikolaevna (1899-1918)

“Maria Nikolaevna can easily be called a Russian beauty. Tall, healthy, with sable eyebrows and a bright blush on her open Russian face, she is especially lovely to a Russian heart. You look at her and involuntarily imagine her dressed in the Russian boyar’s sarafan; snowy muslin sleeves around her hands; on the highly decorated bodice semi-precious stone; and above her white brow, a kokoshnik with the traditional pearls. Her eyes illuminate her entire face by a unique, radiant luster; they sometimes seem black as long eyelashes throw shadows over the bright blush of her soft cheeks.”

ptsd - peter parker oneshot

character: peter parker (tom holland, marvel)

warnings: panic attack, ptsd, kind of angst, SPOILERS FROM SPIDERMAN HOMECOMING

summary: peter’s aftermath of being a superhero.

The next few weeks after saving Stark’s plane and denying the man’s invitation to join the Avengers, Peter Parker seemed to have only one goal in mind.

Sleep.

He was thankful for his superhero life, really, he was. But for as long as he could remember he had always enjoyed being entitled to a good 8 hours of slumber per night, a privilege he hadn’t been lucky enough to experience for a while after he became Spiderman.

So that’s how he ended up falling asleep everywhere. And I mean everywhere.

The boy had the unbelievable ability to close his eyes and start snoring in the matter of seconds wherever he rested his head, either his bed or the library’s tables, he really had no limits. Peter had worked his hardest to finish up whatever homework he had incomplete from school, so there was really nothing stopping him from resting.

Except for the nightmares. Yeah, there was that.
