communist conspiracy

The 1930s in America were a period of rampant anti-Semitism, particularly in the Midwest. Father Charles Coughlin, Detroit’s “Radio Priest,” and William Pelley of Minneapolis, openly called for Jews to be driven from positions of responsibility, if not from the country itself. Organized Brown Shirts in New York and Silver Shirts in Minneapolis both outraged and terrorized American Jewry. While the older and more respectable Jewish organizations pondered a response that would not alienate non-Jewish supporters, others–including rabbis [such as Stephen Wise]-asked the gangsters to break up American Nazi rallies.

Historian Robert Rockaway notes that German-American Bund rallies in the New York City area posed a dilemma for mainstream Jewish leaders. They wanted the rallies stopped but had no legal grounds on which to do so. New York state judge Nathan Perlman personally contacted Meyer Lansky and asked him to disrupt the Bund rallies, provided that Lansky’s henchmen stopped short of killing any Bundists. Enthusiastic for the assignment if disappointed by the restraints, Lansky accepted all of Perlman’s terms except for one: he would take no money for the work. Lansky later observed, “I was a Jew and felt for those Jews in Europe who were suffering. They were my brothers.” For months, Lansky’s workmen effectively broke up one Nazi rally after another. As Rockaway notes, “Nazi arms, legs, and ribs were broken, and skulls were cracked, but no one died.”

Lansky recalled breaking up a Brown Shirt rally in the Yorkville section of Manhattan: “The stage was decorated with a swastika and a picture of Hitler. The speakers started ranting. There were only fifteen of us, but we went into action. We … threw some of them out the windows…Most of the Nazis panicked and ran out. We chased them and beat them up… We wanted to show them that Jews would not always sit back and accept insults.”

In Minneapolis, William Dudley Pelley organized a Silver Shirt Legion to “rescue” America from an imaginary Jewish-Communist conspiracy. In Pelley’s own words, just as “Mussolini and his Black Shirts saved Italy and as Hitler and his Brown Shirts saved Germany,” he would save America from Jewish communists. Minneapolis gambling czar David Berman confronted Pelley’s Silver Shirts on behalf of the Minneapolis Jewish community.

Berman learned that Silver Shirts were mounting a rally at a nearby Elks’ Lodge. When the Nazi leader called for all the “Jew bastards” in the city to be expelled, or worse, Berman and his associates burst in to the room and started cracking heads. After ten minutes, they had emptied the hall. His suit covered in blood, Berman took the microphone and announced, “This is a warning. Anybody who says anything against Jews gets the same treatment. Only next time it will be worse.” After Berman broke up two more rallies, there were no more public Silver Shirt meetings in Minneapolis.

I guess I’ve been doing a better job of avoiding the worst of the left here because I honestly didn’t know that many were still insisting that evidence of connections between Russia and Trump’s administration, and of Russian interference in elections in the US and Europe to prop up right-wing candidates, are just elaborate liberal fantasies AND a pretext for the US to go to war with Russia. Because…imperialism. Or the Deep State. Or both.

it’s like when I see comments from people enraged that democrats haven’t prioritized introducing a health care bill that mandates single payer. I’m wondering, have you all not caught up to 2017 yet? Or is this what happens when your primary sources of information are the Intercept and tumblr posts by teenage communists?

Communist conspiracy, 1966.

This map was included in “Communist Methodology of Conquest”, a 1966 pamphlet by Luis V. Manrara for the Truth About Cuba Committee. The map has 4 globes (all centered on the North Pole) that show the growth of communism. From a red dot in Moscow on Map I to the whole of the Russian Empire on Map II, spreading to China and Eastern Europe on Map III.

The menacing arrows on Map IV are aimed at the U.S., and if that isn’t clear enough, there’s this quote from Lenin: “First we take Eastern Europe. Next the masses of Asia. Then we shall encircle that last bastion of capitalism, the United States. We shall not have to attack. It will fall like an overripe fruit into our hands”. The point of the maps: The Cuban revolution is part of the communist strategy plan to encircle and ultimately subject the U.S.

Adults over 27: “everything’s so political now it was never like this growing up.”

Me, a depressed bastard with an internet blog: “Gee Luke maybe because you grew up during the cold war when anything remotely progressive was tuned out as a communist conspiracy.”

Me: “Plus not to mention being exposed the to metric shit ton of pro-cop, pro-capitalist, and pro-american propaganda tv+movie programs that exploded from the 70s onwards.”

Me: “Plus with the internet we know so much about the shady and evil shit in the world that was kept hidden from your entire generation.”

Me: “So yeah its different from your time because we’re not relying on Hollywood actors to tell us whats going on.”

The incomplete Lovecraft content warning list.

.H.P. Lovecraft is considered a father of the modern horror genre and his works considered classics. Unfortunately, he was also, just, ridiculously racist, even by the standards of the time. Because I actually like him as an author in spite of hating him as a human being, I decided to make a list of his stories in pretty much random order with the relevant warnings so people who want to experience these classics without being triggered/taken out of the story/annoyed by his shitty attitudes on pretty much every subject can do so. This list will be updated whenever I feel like it and at completely random intervals.

The key to the McCarthy phenomenon was the comment made by the entire political culture, from moderate left to moderate right: “we agree with McCarthy’s goals, we just disagree with his means.” Of course, McCarthy’s goals were the usual ones absorbed from the political culture: the alleged necessity of waging war against an international Communist conspiracy, whose tentacles reached from the Soviet Union and spanned the entire globe. McCarthy’s problem, and ultimately his tragedy, is that he took this stuff seriously; if communists and their agents and fellow travelers are everywhere, then shouldn’t we, in the midst of the Cold War, root them out of American political life?

The unique and the glorious thing about McCarthy was not his goals or his ideology, but precisely his radical, populist means. For McCarthy was able, for a few years, to short-circuit the intense opposition of all the elites in American life: from the Eisenhower-Rockefeller administration to the Pentagon and the military-industrial complex to liberal and left media and academic elites — to overcome all that opposition and reach and inspire the masses directly. And he did it through television, and without any real movement behind him; he had only a guerrilla band of a few advisers, but no organization and no infrastructure.

okay but fr can you imagine if wanda tried to kill tony because tony is the reason she doesn't have parents and a fucking home. tony stans are trying to justify tony trying to murder a POW of 70 years using PTSD, i wonder if they will do the same for wanda or just call her a straight up villain

Honestly. Like Bucky wasn’t in control of anything that was done by The Winter Soldier, like none of those actions were actions he consciously made the decisions to enact, and that includes the deaths of Maria and Howard Stark. The guy didn’t even know his own name, he knew nothing outside of completing his mission, that’s all he knew he existed for, that was the only thing he allowed exist for. And Tony knows that. Tony is aware of that. Tony calls him The Manchurian Candidate, in reference to a novel and film that’s literally about a guy that is brainwashed into being an unwitting assassin for a Communist conspiracy. So he’s aware that Bucky was brainwashed into being an unwitting assassin. And yet he still, in control of his choices, in control of his actions, conscious of what he was doing, chose to fight to kill, chose that it didn’t matter to him whether Bucky was a victim or not, he had to be put down. He said he didn’t care that it wasn’t Bucky and he was made do it. Bucky’s a victim, Bucky had 70 years of his life brutally torn from him, Bucky was melded and morphed into a machine with only the purpose of killing, Bucky was tortured whilst they tried to rip away every part of who he is, everything that makes him human. Bucky was a victim, and Tony not only blamed the victim, but thought he deserved to die for what he was made do as a victim.

this all goes back to my problem with people treating The Bourgeoisie as some sort of secret society that controls the outcome of history from a dark room with a big holographic map of the world, as they laugh in unison at their Evil Schemes

like no, this isn’t some illuminati-type shit, they are people that have particular functions and they are forced to submit to those functions, which all go back to the reproduction of those functions and the system that requires them in the first place.

they may do evil things to maintain their power, and in many instances they may actually become absolute personifications of that power and rush to its defense, in which case we may have no choice to but to defeat them by any means necessary, but communists aren’t conspiracy theorists and we don’t do this to replace one form of domination with another or to create a future that is always repressing the past, we want to destroy class structure entirely and move on toward something else that would be better for all of us.

April 5th 1951: Rosenbergs sentenced

On this day in 1951, Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were sentenced to death for alleged spying. The couple were American citizens, but were convicted for espionage after they were accused of giving information to the Soviets about the atomic bomb. They were both arrested in 1950, and became the face of the supposed Communist conspiracy, the fear of which gripped Cold War United States throughout the 1950s and beyond. The couple insisted upon their innocence, but they were still convicted and sentenced to die. In the years between their conviction and execution, public opinion was divided on the guilt of the Rosenbergs. Despite the reservations of some, they were executed on June 19th 1953 by electric chair. It remained unclear whether the pair were indeed Soviet spies, but due to evidence which has since come to light Julius Rosenberg does appear to have been guilty.

Here’s more Parrish meta because I’m trash:

I’m starting to think that Jeff is just taking most of Parrish’s storyline from the book The Manchurian Candidate which is about the son of a prominent political family who is being brainwashed into being an unwitting assassin for a communist conspiracy. Wiki describes part of the plot as so: “ It is revealed that the Communists have been using Shaw as a sleeper agent, a guiltless assassin subconsciously activated by seeing the “Queen of Diamonds” playing card while playing solitaire. Provoked by the appearance of the card, he obeys orders which he then forgets.

DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR? yes, yes it does. Because Parrish is technically Shaw in this case.  And if Jeff is really using this book as “inspiration” then that means:

  • Parrish has no idea what he’s doing at ALL. Because he obeys orders and then forgets everything that happened after seeing the card.
  • The doctors are controlling him. Remember in 5x07 when Theo confronted them about knowing who’s taking the bodies and the doctors didn’t tell him? Yeah, because the doctors are using Parrish to get rid of the bodies. Why? Idk. Maybe it’s suppose to be a distraction to the pack so the doctors can keep doing what they’re doing without being interrupted by a bunch of teenagers. Because the doctors don’t want the bodies of the failed experiments.

Another thing: If Jeff is really using this book, then he’s actually doing it pretty fucking well tbh. Because, remember in 5x04 when Jordan tells us he’s been having a dream for the past six months now where he’s carrying a body to the nemeton? And then we see a whole bunch of bodies? Well what if that wasn’t a dream? What if Jordan has been taking bodies to the Nemeton for the past six months and just doesn’t know it because he keeps thinking it’s a dream?

If he has been taking bodies to the Nemeton for the past six months, I think that has nothing to do with the doctors because the doctors just showed up in the picture at the starting of the pack’s senior year. Meaning, Jordan taking bodies to the nemeton has everything to do with his supernatural side. (*cough*Hellhoundddddddddd*cough*) And NOW, the doctors are aware of his supernatural side and what his job is as a supernatural creature and they are using it to their advantage and messing with his head so that he can be doing all their dirty work.

So basically, Jordan is being used as a puppet. Poor baby. (Not to mention that if we follow all this, then Jordan probably won’t remember his hallucination with Lydia because he forgets everything that happens after he sees the card. Screw you Jeff.)
