Luminaries & Personal Planets

Examples of synthesis.

  • The luminaries are the “lights” of the chart. Known as the two most important planets, the conscious identity (sun) and the subconscious spirit (moon)

Sun: design and desires of the conscious being, vitality and stamina of the spirit (life force), declaration of the identity through self-expression, one’s character, sense of individualism (how/where one ‘shines’ and seeks validation of the ego) Example Used: Sun in Cancer

Basic Cancer Keywords: The home, mother/family past, soul, emotions, empathy, sleepy, moodiness, Moon-ruled, indulgent, privacy, sensitive, creative/imaginative, safety, comfort, protective, retreating, nurturing, needy

Example - The desire and design of Cancer’s conscious being is to seek emotional belonging, tranquility and safety of the soul through their home, family and past. Cancer declares her identity, self-expression and individualism through lunar notions such as empathy, nurtured protection, imagination & creativity but also moodiness, sensitivity, neediness of an abandoned inner child & clinginess. Her vitality and stamina are softened and generally low due to her search for comfort through sleepiness and indulgence. Cancer seeks validation only from those she lets into her private life; she is especially affected by the treatment, validation or lack of thereof from the mother. In other instances, she validates herself through the comfort of private retreat and introspection.

Moon: the emotive needs, instincts & reactions, subconscious trends of the past, dual “home” concept (external home = one’s dwelling, inner home = one’s soul), essence of the personality, privacy demands. Example Used: Moon in Leo

Basic Leo Keywords: father/masculine principle, proud, vibrant, loyal, creative, determined, arrogant, selfish, warm-hearted, dignified/has self-respect, attention & praise-seeking, sun-ruled (ego, importance of identity, rules the heart) youthful or childish/immature, self-expressive

Example - The emotional needs of a Lunar Leo require praise, appreciation and warm-hearted, loving support, especially so from the father figure. Instinctual reactions are set off theatrically when the ego is punctured and the feelings are dismissed, bringing feelings of insecurity & invalidation. A Lunar Leo requires a home that offers validation of the ego and creative outlets. At the core of his being his soul is vibrant with solar rays, youthful, determined, emanates an aura of self-respect and creative expression, but his personality can be consumed with arrogance, faulty pride, selfishness and immature behavior. He demands privacy when his heart or ego are wounded by those he thought loyal to him.

  • The personal planets are Mercury (Messenger), Venus (Lover) and Mars (Warrior), known as the building blocks of the personality.

Mercury: perception of & ability to reason with reality, the conscious mind, the mental facilities and communicative abilities, the ability to receive, translate and convey messages. Example Used: Mercury in Pisces

Basic Pisces Keywords: [hyper]sensitive, dreamy, emotional, vague, distracted, imaginative, sorrowful, empathetic, self-pitying, vulnerable, escapist, adaptable

Example - The perception of reality for mercurial Pisces resembles lens blinded by dew drops; the world appears blurry, making her distracted and vulnerable. Her ability to reason with reality may get lost through wakeful dreams of escape and clouded by a mind occupied by unexplained emotional pains caused by her empathy tuning into the vibrations of others. The mental facilities are driven by hypersensitive receptors rather than calculated logic and she is sensitive to the opinion and criticism of others. The communicative abilities reveal sorrowful, vague, dreamy, adaptable and imaginative thoughts&messages.

Venus: The loving spirit & personal affection, social urges & behavior, physical comforts that bring pleasure in life, harmonious attraction, aesthetic perception, self-perception, values; what the heart appreciates. Example Used: Venus in Virgo

Basic Virgo Keywords: helpful, mercury-ruled, subtle, service-orientated, caring, anxious, worrisome, refined/sophisticated, intelligent/mind-orientated, humble, critical, reliable/self-reliant, mercurial, judgmental

Example - Venus under Virgo has a loving spirit that is shown through physical affection and subtle and helpful acts of service as seen through her earthy temperament, as well as affection from the mind as shown through her mercurial origins. She finds comfort in the simple pleasures of life that bring ease to her anxious qualms, and her aesthetic principles surround mental stimulation such as through journaling inside a serene cafe or burying herself in books during solitude. The perception of herself is distorted through her worrisome, judgmental and critical nature, where she feels undeserving of affection and yet other times she stands modestly dignified and satisfied with her sophisticated mind and self-reliance. Harmonious attraction occurs when another access her mind and sensual needs. She values humbleness, sincerity, and intelligence in others as she presents these qualities in herself.

Mars: The fighting spirit, aggressive urges and if so inclined, sexual urges. Inner strife “war with the self,” instinctual reactions set off by adrenaline and anger, passionate desires and ambitions, personal energy and stamina. Example Used: Libra Mars

Basic Libra Keywords: tactful, diplomatic, love/relationship, fair yet bias (scales), mind-orientated, equal/balance, static, argumentative, polite, lazy/passive, peaceful, gossipy, superficial, aesthetic-sense, interpersonally/socially/publicly inclined

Example - The fighting spirit of a martial Libra shows a warrior advocating for equilibrium and fairness. He is passionate about connection and the well-being of the public, desires fairness in his interpersonal and social relations, and finds peacefulness in his aesthetic interests. His ambitions reflect what he is passionate about. If sexually interested, he favors romance and mental stimulation and he is accommodating to his partner’s pleasures. He is inclined to favor healthy debates as to ease anger and tensions, yet his airy-intellect may become argumentative, gossipy and he could linger on superficial details as well as his own bias concerning his passions and opinions. Libra mars is attracted to those who are peaceful, diplomatic, polite, stimulate the mind through charm, posses social grace, and prove to share awareness of societal matters like himself. His stamina and energy is lacking as he is inclined to laziness and static, yet during other times the fluctuation of scales can show exercises and habits to “balance” themselves.

Notice the use of keywords integrated together. Try doing so with your placements; take the meaning of planets and the keywords of signs, then bring them together. Note: Be creative with the way you synthesis your writing. It’s robotic and bland for instance, to take one key phrase of mars (e.g fighting spirit) and one from Libra (e.g fair) and to simply say “Libra’s fighting spirit is fair.”

Men of an RAF Repair and Salvage Unit working on a damaged Supermarine Spitfire Mk IX of No 403 Squadron, Royal Canadian Air Force, at B.2 forward airstrip Bazenville in Normandy, 16-19 June 1944.

Airfield Bazenville (Advanced Landing Ground B-2 Bazenville or B-2 Crépon) was an Allied wartime airfield in Normandy, France.
The airfield was built by the Royal Engineers 16th Airfield Construction Group together with the RAF’s 3207 and 3209 Servicing Commandos starting just after midnight after D-Day. The groups built a runway, dispersal areas, communications facilities, landing lights and many other requirements to run an airfield. It was located between the villages of Crépon, Bazenville and Villiers-le-Sec.
ALG B-2 would have been completed as the first ALG in Normandy on 9 June, but a B-24 Liberator crashlanded at the uncompleted airfield that morning and ripped up a lot of SMT. Instead it was completed two days later, on June 11, and serviced the first 36 aircraft (Spitfires) of 127 Wing that same day. The complete Wing (403, 416, 421 and 443 Sqns) moved in on 16 June 1944.

Because personality goes a long ways

Introverted iNtuitive Feeling Judging
INFJs are distinguished by both their complexity of character and the unusual range and depth of their talents. Strongly humanitarian in outlook, INFJs tend to be idealists, and because of their J preference for closure and completion, they are generally “doers” as well as dreamers. This rare combination of vision and practicality often results in INFJs taking a disproportionate amount of responsibility in the various causes to which so many of them seem to be drawn.

INFJs are deeply concerned about their relations with individuals as well as the state of humanity at large. They are, in fact, sometimes mistaken for extroverts because they appear so outgoing and are so genuinely interested in people – a product of the Feeling function they most readily show to the world. On the contrary, INFJs are true introverts, who can only be emotionally intimate and fulfilled with a chosen few from among their long-term friends, family, or obvious “soul mates.” While instinctively courting the personal and organizational demands continually made upon them by others, at intervals INFJs will suddenly withdraw into themselves, sometimes shutting out even their intimates. This apparent paradox is a necessary escape valve for them, providing both time to rebuild their depleted resources and a filter to prevent the emotional overload to which they are so susceptible as inherent “givers.” As a pattern of behavior, it is perhaps the most confusing aspect of the enigmatic INFJ character to outsiders, and hence the most often misunderstood – particularly by those who have little experience with this rare type.

Due in part to the unique perspective produced by this alternation between detachment and involvement in the lives of the people around them, INFJs may well have the clearest insights of all the types into the motivations of others, for good and for evil. The most important contributing factor to this uncanny gift, however, are the empathic abilities often found in Fs, which seem to be especially heightened in the INFJ type (possibly by the dominance of the introverted N function).

This empathy can serve as a classic example of the two-edged nature of certain INFJ talents, as it can be strong enough to cause discomfort or pain in negative or stressful situations. More explicit inner conflicts are also not uncommon in INFJs; it is possible to speculate that the causes for some of these may lie in the specific combinations of preferences which define this complex type. For instance, there can sometimes be a “tug-of-war” between NF vision and idealism and the J practicality that urges compromise for the sake of achieving the highest priority goals. And the I and J combination, while perhaps enhancing self-awareness, may make it difficult for INFJs to articulate their deepest and most convoluted feelings.

Usually self-expression comes more easily to INFJs on paper, as they tend to have strong writing skills. Since in addition they often possess a strong personal charisma, INFJs are generally well-suited to the “inspirational” professions such as teaching (especially in higher education) and religious leadership. Psychology and counseling are other obvious choices, but overall, INFJs can be exceptionally difficult to pigeonhole by their career paths. Perhaps the best example of this occurs in the technical fields. Many INFJs perceive themselves at a disadvantage when dealing with the mystique and formality of “hard logic”, and in academic terms this may cause a tendency to gravitate towards the liberal arts rather than the sciences. However, the significant minority of INFJs who do pursue studies and careers in the latter areas tend to be as successful as their T counterparts, as it is *iNtuition* – the dominant function for the INFJ type – which governs the ability to understand abstract theory and implement it creatively.

In their own way, INFJs are just as much “systems builders” as are INTJs; the difference lies in that most INFJ “systems” are founded on human beings and human values, rather than information and technology. Their systems may for these reasons be conceptually “blurrier” than analogous NT ones, harder to measure in strict numerical terms, and easier to take for granted – yet it is these same underlying reasons which make the resulting contributions to society so vital and profound.

Beneath the quiet exterior, INFJs hold deep convictions about the weightier matters of life. Those who are activists - INFJs gravitate toward such a role - are there for the cause, not for personal glory or political power.

INFJs are champions of the oppressed and downtrodden. They often are found in the wake of an emergency, rescuing those who are in acute distress.INFJs may fantasize about getting revenge on those who victimize the defenseless. The concept of ‘poetic justice’ is appealing to the INFJ.

“There’s something rotten in Denmark.” Accurately suspicious about others’ motives, INFJs are not easily led. These are the people that you can rarely fool any of the time.Though affable and sympathetic to most, INFJs are selective about their friends. Such a friendship is a symbiotic bond that transcends mere words.

INFJs have a knack for fluency in language and facility in communication. In addition, nonverbal sensitivity enables the INFJ to know and be known by others intimately.

Writing, counseling, public service and even politics are areas where INFJs frequently find their niche.

She’s been storming the runways at the hottest shows during New York Fashion Week.

But Karlie Kloss swapped the catwalk for the treadmill as she hit the gym in the Big Apple on Tuesday.

Showcasing her sensational model figure, the 25-year-old blonde bombshell opted for a pair of figure-hugging leggings to show off her derriere.

She teamed the garment with a white T-shirt that highlighted her tiny waist and clung to her slender curves and also donned grey trainers.

Sweeping her ice blonde locks away from her face, the stunning supermodel showed off her natural beauty as she worked up a sweat.

She finished off the look by donning a pair of oversized shades as she headed home after the gruelling exercise session.

Karlie has been ruling the runways during New York Fashion Week, walking for the likes of Tom Ford, Jeremy Scott and Baja East.

The star is also gearing up to return to the Victoria’s Secret catwalk after a two-year hiatus from the brand.

The model had been working with the company since 2011, but in 2015, the lingerie giant’s senior creative director Ed Razek revealed Karlie would be leaving when her contract ran out at the end of the year.

Therefore, her return to the show came as a shock to fans, with Karlie sharing the big news by writing ‘See you in Shanghai @VictoriasSecret,’ along with throwback photo of herself sporting her wings during the 2014 fashion show.

As well as modelling, Karlie is well known for her Kode with Klossy programme - a career scholarship which helps provide learning facilities and communities for young women working in tech.

Explaining her decision to set up the educational project, she told Teen Vogue in June: 'The great thing about being a model is that you get to be a muse, you get to take on all these different characters, but I felt like I was being so many different things for so many different people, I wasn’t investing time in myself or in my education.

'Not to say that what I was doing wasn’t valuable or meaningful, but I wasn’t filling my own cup. That was the biggest drive for me to want to learn something new and challenging — to prove to myself that I could.’

Daily Mail

At a relatively young age, Jonathan Toews already possessed an incredible shrinking bucket list. And at age 28, the captain of the Chicago Blackhawks was voted among the 100 Greatest NHL Players – quite the accomplishment for the all-purpose center.

But a look at his resume explains why:

Toews won the Stanley Cup with the Blackhawks in 2010, 2013 and 2015.

He earned a gold medal with Canada at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics and the 2014 Sochi Olympics.

In 2010, at age 22, he became the second-youngest player to win the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP. He had 29 points in 22 games.

In 2013, he was awarded the Selke Trophy, given to the NHL’s best defensive forward.

In 2015, he won the Mark Messier Leadership Award recognizing contributions to one’s team and community.

Prior to all of this, Toews was named captain of the Blackhawks on July 18, 2008, before his second season. He had played 64 NHL games. No player in League annals had been named captain faster.

Really now, what is left for this special talent?

“More Stanley Cups,” Toews said, matter-of-factly. “Winning is addictive.”

Entering the 2006 NHL Draft, the Blackhawks were in dire need of new blood and a new direction. They had qualified for the playoffs once since 1997, making an abrupt five-game exit in 2002, and fan interest had dipped precipitously throughout an Original Six market. In the words of no less an authority than chairman Rocky Wirtz, “We had become irrelevant.”

The Blackhawks could not afford to miss on the No. 3 pick. They knew of Toews’ decorated amateur career, first at Shattuck-St. Mary’s School in Minnesota, then at the University of North Dakota. They probably anticipated that his pedigree – in 2007 he would become the first Canadian to win gold at the World Junior Championship and World Championship in the same year, and did it as a second-year collegian – would bode well for his evolution as a professional on hockey’s greatest stage, the NHL. They might even have heard the story about how, when Jonathan was a tyke, he made a promise.

“He told me he was not only going to make it in the NHL,” said his father, Bryan. “He told me he was going to make it big and buy me a new truck.”

The Blackhawks did not miss. They studied the person and the statistics, but there was no guarantee that Jonathan Toews would point the franchise toward a golden era with his excellence and maturity. He made a quick impression, scoring on his first shot with the Blackhawks, against the San Jose Sharks on Oct. 10, 2007, and got a point in each of his first 10 games, then the second-best streak by any player to start an NHL career. Toews had 24 goals and 30 assists in 2007-08, his rookie season in Chicago, but it was more than that. It was his presence, the example he set, on the ice, in the locker room, on the bus.

“If I hadn’t seen Jonathan being born,” said his mother, Andree Gilbert, “I would swear he’s older.”

Teammates didn’t need to hear that parental praise. They merely observed the businesslike manner in which Toews prepared for his job and applied himself. Patrick Sharp, who won three Cup championships with Toews, called him “Mr. Serious.” Then Brent Seabrook, also fitted for three championship rings with the Blackhawks, acknowledged that Toews bore all the trappings and intangibles of a captain. So Seabrook updated the nickname to “Capt. Serious” and it caught on. Toews never warmed to it, but deduced correctly that the more he would debate the merits of such a label, the more serious he would seem.

“It stuck, I guess,” said Toews. “As far as leaders go, well, I happen to think we’ve had a lot of them on this team as we’ve learned how to win. It’s an honor to be captain of this team. But the ‘Serious’ part, I don’t know about that. It’s not like I never laugh.”

But Toews never takes a night off, and when your captain operates in such a way that every shift matters, the effort is contagious. Toews has the ability to be among the most productive players in the League, but his unselfishness and devotion to duty when opponents have the puck are paramount. When it’s about risk versus reward, Toews opts for the grunt work. He has what it takes to score 40 goals, but did not exceed 34 through nine full seasons. During that period, he had a rating of plus-187.

“All Jonathan Toews does is make everybody he plays with better,” Toronto Maple Leafs coach Mike Babcock said. Before he took over in Toronto, Babcock saw plenty of Toews as coach of the Detroit Red Wings, bitter rivals of the Blackhawks. Babcock also coached him with Canada in the 2010 and 2014 Olympics. It is noteworthy that, for the latter, Sidney Crosby was appointed captain. But before he accepted, Crosby sought to determine whether Toews would be at peace with the designation. Such is the degree of respect bestowed on Toews, who gladly served as an alternate.

For his play with the Blackhawks, Toews has received lavish praise from coach Joel Quenneville as the perfect link between management and labor.

“It makes it a lot easier to do what I do when you have No. 19 in the locker room,” Quenneville said. “You can’t teach what ‘Tazer’ brings to the table. When your best players go about their way like he does, it affects everybody else. Johnny is zero maintenance.”

Whereas Toews stands out for exemplary defensive and faceoff numbers, he is renowned for taking over a game when required. He is especially noticeable in the spring, as a clutch performer in playoffs. At the conclusion of the 2014-15 season, he had already amassed 10 game-winning playoff goals, second only in franchise history to a contemporary icon Patrick Kane’s 11. Through his first nine seasons, of Toews’ 251 goals, 51 were game-winners – third most in franchise history.

“Jonathan brings it every night,” said Scotty Bowman, a Hockey Hall of Fame coach and the Blackhawks senior adviser to hockey operations. “It’s one thing to have ability, but another to compete. You are not going to outcompete Toews. He plays in all situations. Power play, penalty kill, 5-on-5.

“He’s a big guy. You see him out of uniform. He’s strong and thick. But again, it’s another thing to use the body the way he uses it. He takes it to all the tough areas and makes sacrifices. He plays the entire rink. He’s got everybody’s respect, his own guys, guys throughout the league, coaches and general managers. He never causes problems and is a tremendous representative for the Blackhawks, the League and hockey. He carries himself well, speaks well. He even speaks French. He’s got it all.”

In Chicago, a city that has enjoyed its share of sports legends, Toews quickly became among the most admired and popular athletes ever. He dedicated countless hours and support to local causes, including The Kitchen Community, which builds learning gardens in Chicago to connect children with real food, increase academic achievement and encourage civic engagement.

In his native Winnipeg, Manitoba, where there is a lake named after him, Toews donated $1 million to the Dakota Community Centre, a facility that includes the 95,000 square foot Jonathan Toews Sportsplex, housing two indoor rinks, a gymnasium, nursery school, skate shop and strength training area.

For a big-name NHL player, Toews is not pretentious; when he brought the Stanley Cup to his hometown in 2010, he took a public bus to the parade.

“My parents have instilled in me the importance of giving back,” said Toews, captain during the most successful era in Blackhawks history. As a 20-something, he achieved iconic stature with the franchise, as did Bobby Hull and Stan Mikita, both of whom have monuments erected beside United Center.

Jonathan Toews is a statue waiting to happen.

Jedi Lifestyle: Dining and Housing

There’s this trend in fandom to put little kitchenettes in Jedi quarters, especially in stories where masters and their padawans have conjoined rooms. It’s a cute idea, but it’s pretty much antithetical to Jedi philosophies regarding the role of the individual within the collective. The Jedi are all about the individual subsuming themselves as part of a greater whole. What’s more individual than eating alone in your room?

Rather than cooking their own individual meals, the Jedi almost certainly eat in dining halls. Think college. There are dining halls for administrative workers; dining halls for kids; dining halls for different housing wings. All of the food is probably prepared either by cooking droids or civilian contractors and is either grown in on-site greenhouses or shipped in from satellite temples. It’s healthful, bland, specially targeted for each species’ nutritional needs. It’s probably a mix of prepared meals picked up at the counter with a salad bar on the side.

When it comes to housing, think monastic cells, not apartments. Basic Jedi quarters are pretty much a shoe box with a bed and a place to store clothing. Residents are supposed to sleep and maybe meditate there, not hang out. More senior Jedi probably have more space to accumulate plants or furniture or whatever, but actually acquiring personal possessions will earn a certain amount of censure. The real little kids probably sleep barracks-style for ease of their caretakers. Being assigned one’s own room as a padawan or possibly even as a senior initiate is a Big Deal and important coming of age moment.

Looking at the rooms as shown in The Clone Wars cartoon, there are no private refreshers. Maybe Yoda and some of the older higher-ups have them, but all the rank and file probably share communal refreshers and bathing facilities at the end of the hall. Again, think college. Imagine cubbies with each Jedi’s name and personal beauty products. Actually, don’t, because they probably all use the same institutional shampoo/soap unless they’re allergic. They probably all have their own combs, toothbrushes, and shaving gear, though. Towels are thoughtfully provided by the Temple and are washed after each use. It may sound weird to modern American sensibilities, but nothing builds communities faster than standing in line to pee or grunting greeting to a friend as you wash your face before your morning caf.

First-year doctors will be allowed to work 24-hour shifts starting in July
New professional standards will lengthen the consecutive hours that first-year doctors may work.

First-year doctors will be allowed to work 24-hour shifts in hospitals across the United States starting July 1, when a much-debated cap that limits the physicians to 16 consecutive hours of patient care is lifted, the organization that oversees their training announced Friday.

The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education said the change will enhance patient safety because there will be fewer handoffs from doctor to doctor. It also said the longer shifts will improve the new doctors’ training by allowing them to follow their patients for more extended periods, especially in the critical hours after admission.

The controversial decision ends the latest phase in a decades-old discussion over how to balance physician training with the safety and needs of patients whose care is sometimes handled by young, sleep-deprived doctors — a practice that a consumer group and a medical students’ organization oppose as dangerous. The council said Friday that under the amended standards, the physicians’ mental and physical health actually will be bolstered by requiring their supervisors to more closely monitor their well-being.

Those standards will allow four hours to transition patients from one doctor to the next, so first-year residents could work as long as 28 straight hours, the same as more senior medical residents. The 125,000 doctors in training, known as “residents” and “fellows” depending on how many years they’ve completed, are the backbone of staffs at about 800 hospitals across the country, from large medical centers to smaller community facilities.

2: This Might Be Fun After All

Whilst brushing your teeth, you made the mistake of looking at yourself in the mirror. You soon found yourself studying your features, scrutinising every part of yourself. Your nose was too big, your eyes are too far apart, your lips are too thin, your eyebrows are completely different…you could go on for hours. You turned your attention to your belly, prodding and pulling it every which way, you sighed heavily and let your hands and head fall. You felt revolting, screwing your eyes shut to push the thought from your head, you spat out the toothpaste and rinsed your mouth.

Ever since the breakfast incident, you hardly left your room, and rarely went into any of the communal areas at the facility. If you absolutely had to venture out into the world outside of your bedroom, you’d wear big baggy clothes to hide yourself with. This didn’t go un-noticed by your super soldier best friend.

“Why don’t you ever leave your room anymore Y/N?”

“It’s just easier that way Buck,” you gulped, not wanting to talk to him about this anymore, “People don’t have to see me and I won’t get hurt by their words or stares, it’s a win/win.” He didn’t believe you for one moment, and you knew it.

“No, it’s not angel. You’re cutting yourself off from everyone, it’s no good for you! You need to-“ he was cut off by a rather fast knock at your door.

“Y/N, can I talk to you for a minute please?” Stark.

“No, I’m sorry, I’m not wearing 40 layers, you might bring your lunch up if you see me this way.” You quipped back, still angry and hurt at the way he talked to you. You hadn’t spoken to Tony for a week, unless you were on a mission together, and even then, you kept it strictly professional.  His eye roll behind the door was audible.

“Come on Siren,” he used your avengers title, “I’m not leaving until you come out, you can’t hole up in there forever! I’ll just hang out here until you answer me.” You knew he was serious, so with a huff, you stalked over to your door, and nearly pulled open off it’s hinges, startling Tony.

“What?” you spat at him. He gestured, asking for permission to enter your room, you rolled your eyes and stepped aside, allowing him access to your room. As you moved, you revealed that Bucky was standing there. Both his arms crossed as if here were a doorman at a club. Protecting you, you’d like to believe. The sight of Bucky the Bodyguard put Tony on edge as you could see him physically tense up.

“Does Metal Mickey over here always have to be by your side?” He nervously laughed, you didn’t find it funny, “Wow, tough crowd” He nervously scratched the back of his head, thinking of what to say.

“What did you want Stark?” Bucky broke the silence, his voice deep and menacing. You’d never heard his voice like that before…did it suddenly get hot in here?

“I, I wanted to apologise to Y/N for what happened the other day.” he stated, turning to you, “Y/N, what I said to you was wrong, it was beyond the realm of wrong. I was tired from the mission and cranky because I had so much to catch up on and I know that doesn’t excuse me being a colossal asshole to you, and I am sorry, I’m truly and honestly sorry. I shouldn’t have talked to you in the way that I did, and I really want to make it up to you because I feel awful, I can’t even believe I did that to you-“ he wasn’t coming up for air, and you knew he wouldn’t stop talking until you’d forgiven him.

“Tony, Stop. You’re going to run out of breath,” you chuckled, “I’m not saying it’s ok, because it isn’t, what you said really hurt me but, I accept your apology” you smiled graciously at him, and extended you hand for him to shake. He took your hand and pulled you in for a hug.

“I am sorry Siren, honestly” his voice cracking, you almost thought he was crying.

“I know Tony, I know.” You patted him on the back and broke away from the hug. You felt like a weight had been lifted off your shoulders, and started to feel like your old self again. You glanced over at Bucky, his eyes burning into the back of Starks head, but softening when his stare met you. “Right boys, if you’d excuse me, I’m gonna jump in the shower” you smiled, turning to go into the bathroom.

“Uh, yeah, sure, I’ll just leave then,” Tony pointed at the door and went to leave, before turning back around to both you and Bucky, “Oh! Almost forgot, There’s a party tonight. From the city in celebration of the work we do for it. It’s black tie, obviously” his eyes glancing over to your wardrobe, “You’re both coming, right?”

“Erm, no, I’m alright actually Tony, I don’t have a dress” you looked down at the floor, embarrassed to tell your friends the reason why. You never saw the point in buying dresses and skirts and things like that, you never wore them, so why waste your money on them?

“Seriously doll, you don’t own a dress?” Bucky chimed in, amazed at the fact that you had only just shared with him.

“No, I’ve never needed to before,’ you stated, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. Without a moment’s hesitation you heard the billionaire call out into the air.

“F R I D A Y?”

“Yes Mr Stark, how can I help you today?” the polite voice called out.

“Get Nikki the stylist and her whole team over here, as soon as possible please. We’re giving Siren here a makeover”

Tony looked over at you and Bucky, meeting his eyes were two very shocked faces. You opened your mouth as if in protest and Tony hushed you with a finger and you shut up.

“I don’t want to hear it Y/L/N. This is my way of making it up to you ok?” you were about to open your mouth again but he cut you off, “OK?” he was a bit more firm with you this time.

“Ok Tony,” he turned on his heels and walked out of the room, you shouted down the corridor after him, “Thank you!” He waved it off and you smiled happily, it was nice that you two were on talking terms again.

“Looks like you gotta hurry up with that shower doll. You’ve got a busy day ahead of you!” Bucky laughed in disbelief at what was about to happen. He’d only ever seen you wear jeans or sweatpants and a t-shirt before, now you’re going be all prettied up! He was secretly curious about what you’d look like, “C’ya later Angel” he pulled you into a quick hug and pecked you on the cheek as he was leaving your room, leaving you to enjoy your day of pampering alone.

This might be fun.

Welcome to Mute Laboratories

Facility Tour Master-post

Enclosed below is the official tour of my giant-friendly and tiny-friendly facility, Mute Labs!

Just wanted to say that I was blown away by the amount of interest generated from the sneak-peak yesterday!  Really appreciate it, especially considering my inconsistent activity in the community as of late ^^; I’m hopeful that the interest was from the concept itself and not from the…I think, misconception that some people had that the ‘world-building’ involved was linked to this project of mine becoming a video game…cuz it’s not, sad to say >.> Just a fictional community with which to link future g/t fluff shots and innovative ideas ^u^

As always, I’m open to ideas and questions!  Hope y’all enjoy!

Okay, so I’ve had a silly little project over these past few months, and it’s been rather addictive. It’s also been needlessly complicated, very long-winded, and the whole thing sort of broke one time and had to be retrieved and rescued from the depths of my hard drive, but here is my Sims 3 MASH 4077th project.

Screenshots, from top to bottom, are:

Make sure your “nutritionist” is an RD.

Ok people, if you are looking for nutrition information, please consider your source. Don’t take the word of a sales person. If they have something to gain financially from the product, they’re not an unbiased source. Take what you learn from sales people (weather it be GNC or a multi level sales company) or the internet and speak to a Registered Dietitian.

All dietitians are nutritionists but not all nutritionists are dietitians! A registered dietitian is a healthcare professional who has completed a nutrition-related degree which includes a rigorous course of study in the scientific areas of biochemistry, human anatomy and physiology classes. They also must complete a supervised dietetic internship with a minimum of 900 hours.

All dietitians must pass a national board examination before they can receive the credentianls RD (registered dietitian).

By the time an individual receives their RD credential, they have specialized knowledge in the area of nutrition. Registered dietitians also must complete continuing education courses regularly in order to keep their registration and licensure current.

A registered dietitian is a healthcare professional who applies principles of food and nutrition to health. They practice in a variety of settings.

Administrative dietitians work in healthcare institutions, schools, cafeterias, restaurants and major food and pharmaceutical companies.
Clinical dietitians are a vital part of the medical team in providing evidence-based care in hospitals, nursing homes, health maintenance organizations, and other healthcare facilities.

Community dietitians provide care in outpatient hospital clinics, public and home health agencies, health and recreational clubs, and government-funded programs.

Dietitians work as professors, instructors, and mentors in colleges, universities and medical centers and apply evidence-based medical nutrition therapy.

Consultant dietitians work under contract with a healthcare facility or in their own private practice.

Please be aware of unqualified individuals. Because the titles “nutritionist” and “nutrition consultant” are unregulated in most states, they have been adopted by many individuals who lack recognized credentials and are unqualified. In addition, a small percentage of licensed practitioners are engaged in unscientific nutrition practices. The best way to avoid bad nutrition advice is to identify and avoid those who give it.

Make sure your “nutritionist” is an RD.

NYC Censored History: In 1968 Students Protest Racism And Militarism At Columbia By Taking A Dean Hostage

In early March 1967, a Columbia University Students for a Democratic Society activist named Bob Feldman discovered documents in the International Law Library detailing Columbia’s institutional affiliation with the Institute for Defense Analyses (IDA), a weapons research think-tank affiliated with the U.S. Department of Defense. The nature of the association had not been, to that point, publicly announced by the University.

Columbia’s plan to construct a gymnasium in city-owned Morningside Park also touched off negative sentiment on campus and in the Harlem community. Opposition began in 1965 during the mayoral campaign of John Lindsay, who opposed the project. By 1967 community opposition had become more militant. One of the causes for dispute was the gym’s proposed design, which would have included access for residents of Harlem through a so-called “back door” to a dedicated community facility on its lower level.

The first protest occurred eight days before the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. In response to the Columbia Administration’s attempts to suppress anti-IDA student protest on its campus, and Columbia’s plans for the Morningside Park gymnasium, Columbia SDS activists and the student activists who led Columbia’s Student Afro Society (SAS) held a second, confrontational demonstration on April 23, 1968. After the protesting Columbia and Barnardstudents were prevented from protesting inside Low Library by Columbia security guards, most of the student protesters marched down to the Columbia gymnasium construction site in Morningside Park, attempted to stop construction of the gymnasium and began to struggle with the New York City Police officers who were guarding the construction site. The NYPD arrested one protester at the gym site. Columbia SDS chairman Mark Rudd then led the protesting students from Morningside Park back to Columbia’s campus, where students took over Hamilton Hall, a building housing both classrooms and the offices of the Columbia College Administration.

The adolescent years: NF types

ENFJ: As ENFJs reach adolescence, they usually continue to do well academically. They tend to enjoy junior and senior high school, free from the boring rote learning of the lower grades and able to study issues in more depth. They often enjoy the humanities, literature and social studies, and and their natural facility with communication tends to make learning a foreign language easy and rewarding. While they continue to enjoy group-learning activities and are usually hard-working team members, they also like the more independent study afforded in the upper grades, where they can let their imagination lead them to the less-obvious interpretations of the material. But they need explicit permission and encouragement to go off the beaten path and investigate their interests, as opposed to doing what everyone else is doing.

Many ENFJs remain involved with a variety of activities. And many ENFJs eagerly look forward to attending college, and work hard to maintain the grades they need to b accepted. But in their eagerness to have the future all mapped out, they may make choices too early and lock themselves onto a particular path before they have taken the time to consider all their options.

In addition to their full academic and extracurricular plates, adolescent ENFJs usually have very active social lives. Outgoing, friendly and popular, they are well liked and often admired by their peers. They frequently serve as the mediator when friends squabble, and may spend endless hours on the telephone helping their friends with their problems. Since they so naturally and easily emphasize, they may have trouble deciding when they should and shouldn’t get involved with things outside of their concern.

ENFJ teens may begin to spend increasing amounts of time doing what looks like nothing. They may lie on their beds, staring into space, while their chores go undone and their homework unfinished. This can be an unnerving change, because most ENFJs are usually so active, involved responsible and hard-working. As teenage ENFJs go through the natural process of pulling away from their families to fashion an identity of their own, they may spend more time inside their own heads. The inner life of ENFJs is a place of rich fantasy. They love to daydream, spinning out exciting scenarios and even imaginary confrontations they would never carry out in real life. They may act as if they are a million miles away, and may seek more time alone. Writing in a journal can be a wonderfully creative and even therapeutic exercise for ENFJs during these years. Much of what they imagine, they don’t wish to share, so a diary provides them with privacy and a nonjudgmental ear.

INFJ: Adolescence is a difficult time for all children. So many changes, and so many of them inexplicable and confusing. But for INFJs, this time can be particularly hard because of the combination of their strong need for structure and control, and their discomfort in the external world. The INFJs who are the least traumatized by the experience are usually the ones with one very close, trusted friend to confide in with whom they can navigate the choppy waters of an unpredictable and rapidly changing social world. But the teasing and tormenting of middle or high school may simply have to be endured.

For some INFJs, the teen years bring an increase in self-confidence and a greater willingness to engage in highly public activities, such as theater. Many INFJs love being a part of any creative process, so they may also enjoy working on or being backstage in school or community plays. But for others, with a stronger preference for Introversion, they continue to hate being the center of attention—especially when it is unexpected or when they feel unprepared. INFJs rarely like to wing it. They need plenty of time to organize their thoughts or presentations, and don’t enjoy improvising.

During this time of tremendous growth, many INFJs intently focus on the future and what they will choose to do for work. Naturally concerned about making a difference in the world, many INFJs are confused and conflicted about making college and/or career choices. They have a strong desire to do creative and meaningful work, and find it hard to imagine themselves in a traditional or business setting. Most INFJs tend to become people of high integrity and honor who make full and lasting commitments to the people and causes they believe in.

ENFP: Because ENFPs, more so than many other types, are such individuals, they often become less conventional as they grow older. They like the whole mystique of being different, and are often attracted to lifestyles, clothing and behavior that is different and unique. They feel a strong and unrelenting pull to figure out what makes them special, and they pursue a quest to understand themselves and the meaning of life

Many teen ENFPs like to cause a stir and get a reaction; they find shocking adults is fun and exciting. They usually respond best to being treated like adults, being invited into adult conversations and having their views considered. But their natural ability to read between the lines may result in some heated discussion of necessary limits, or constant renegotiating of rules. They are almost incapable of accepting that there is no possibility of getting you to change your mind or of getting what they want, so they will go to great lengths to try to convince you. Closing a door causes them such anxiety and frustration, it’s usually best to save the absolutes for the really important issues, and leave open the remote chance you might be convinced by a really well thought out argument.

The artistic interests and talents of ENFPs may be highly developed by their teen years. At a time when finding the right group to belong to is so vital, many ENFPs are able to float between groups because they are interested and involved in so many things. While they seem tireless, they may find they have over-extended themselves and have little time left for the more mundane activities, like chores and homework, or taking care of their health. ENFPs feel there’s always enough time to do everything they want, but because they are very unrealistic and don’t want to miss an interesting opportunity, they can get in over their heads. The real trick for ENFPs is to learn to narrow their focus so they can avoid scattering their talents over too wide a field. Learning to set and then stick with priorities is another important life lesson for ENFPs.

INFP: During adolescence, INFPs struggle chiefly with their highly emotional reactions and their deeply sensitive responses to everything—from personal relationships to the impending need to make important decisions for their futures. INFPs naturally focus on the future, imagining and fantasizing what their lives will be like when they are on their own. But they don’t like to make decisions, and often put them off until the last minute. They find decision-making extremely stressful and can even become panic-stricken by the fear of making serious mistakes.

Because INFPs take everything so personally, they often have trouble opening up their ideas or creations to possible criticism. When they hear anything remotely negative, their tendency is to withdraw. They prize their creativity, prefer to work on their own, and share their creations only when they consider them fully complete.

Many INFPs enjoy the irreverence of dark comedy, the loose structure of improvisational jazz, the fantasy escape of movies, and are interested in the lives of struggling artists. Many INFPs find themselves drawn to study ecology,  are concerned with human rights issues, and are eager to learn all they can about philosophy and psychology. They may be unsure about the specifics of a career, but they always seem sure that they want their lives to have meaning. They may not be able to tell you what form that will take, but they have an intuitive feeling of how it should be.
