Lynda Carter and Gal Gadot Embrace at WONDER WOMAN Red Carpet
Two Wonder Women, one blue carpet.

Two is better than one!

Gal Gadot and Lynda Carter joined forces at the Wonder Woman premiere, held at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood on Thursday. Upon seeing each other, the two beauties embraced and posed for the cameras.

Gadot stunned in a red Givenchy gown, while Carter looked sophisticated and chic in a black pant suit.

Carter, 65, is one of the original actresses to take on the role of the DC Comics heroine, starring in the TV series Wonder Woman from 1975 to 1979. Earlier in the day, she wrote on Facebook about how thrilled she was to reunite with Gadot and the film’s director, Patty Jenkins.

“I’m in L.A., so excited to be attending the premiere of the new Wonder Woman movie, directed by my friend, Patty Jenkins, and starring the beautiful Gal Gadot,” she wrote. “I can’t wait to see that beloved character on the big screen where she belongs. I know it will be great!”

ET caught up with Gadot at the red carpet premiere where she gushed about Carter.

“I just love her very much so,” she told ET’s Nischelle Turner. “She is such a special women and a unique person and it’s always great to see her especially tonight where she’s going to see the movie for the first time. And my heart is going crazy."

Carter shared the same sentiments.

"I am the bearer of the torch and now I’m passing it forward to Gal and to Patty,” she told ET. “I spoke with Patty early on and I couldn’t wait to meet Gal. The three of us share some sisterhood by living and breathing this character."

When asked how she felt about watching the film for the first time, Carter admitted she was nervous.

"I can’t breathe. I am so excited,” she said. “I really want you all to embrace this. This is another way to look at her. It doesn’t mean to abandon me or abandon the way that I had her, the way that I played her. This is just another way to look at Wonder Woman. So here we go!”

An article said that the Subscription variant was an homage to the Avengers Vs X-men first issue, so I figured I’d make a post putting them together.

Then I just decided if there’s an homage/reference in a AT/RS cover of something else I’d just point it out too, even if it’s obvious, just for the sake of. That’s why I added the AT title card and the cover based on it too.

Also while I’m at it the Galaxy Blade from Brilliant Century Duck Crisis (and of course the summer time lovin’ tape from This is My Jam) is in that bottom cover, which is cool.

Certainly looking forward to August and the upcoming issues and their covers. I wonder how many issues there will be, 5-10 is a decent estimate I guess.

Supergirl Bashing

I sometimes wonder why some shows have such amazing fandoms when others are the most divided and hate-filled corners of the internet. I know other shows where there are opposing ships but they still don’t reach the hate level that Supergirl has amassed. As a queer woman I understand the need for diversity and representation but for the most part, the superhero shows on tv follow the comic books as a guide and don’t stray from major plot points (usually). I don’t understand how people can direct so much hate at not only fictional characters but the actors who put in so much effort to do their job. They are people too and to see people condemn what a character “stands for” yet spread just as much toxicity is simply hypocritical. If Supergirl had started on The CW would it have gotten such a rude and hateful audience? I feel like by starting on CBS it brought in a larger audience that is more concerned with getting their way no matter the cost rather than the close knit communities I’ve seen come from The CW shows.

that was my first, but certainly not last all nighter of my summer!! However, I cleared all my drafts and inbox messages, and completed all of my giveaway things. I’m already really close to my next hundred, which is very exciting. Since I did just complete my last one, I will not be doing anything this time around. However, if I do ever reach 900, I’ll try to do something again. If not, I do have something special planned if I ever hit 1000!!!

I know I’ve gotten older than the intended demographic, but I feel like good shojo manga is really hard to find now.

i’m…. sorry, but i had to.

i must say, i connie is my favorite character to make jokes about, she and her family are so fun to me with their quirks and personalities, i would watch a show about connie, just her normal life and every once in a while she haves a magic adventure with steven, watching anime with his dad…. anyways… sorry for the steven’s mom joke
