anonymous asked:

you said you were working on reading 10 trans and wlw books this year but you didn't mention what they were!

THAT WAS REMISS OF ME, because so far they’ve been mostly friggin’ awesome:

  • The Abyss Surrounds Us by Emily Skrutskie ♥ (wlw 1/10) – light sci-fi, light dystopian, LESBIAN MOTHERFUCKING PIRATES!!!!!!!!
  • This Is How It Always Is by Laurie Frankel ♥ (trans 1/10) – this is what I was reading when I made that post, and it ended up being the borderline-literary, adult fiction, family + trans kid saga of my dreams
  • Luna by Julie Anne Peters (trans 2/10) – old enough to be considered a Classic of the very small, very niche genre, but is now suuuuper dated compared to everything else on this list (that possibly makes it required reading, tbh)
  • Beast by Brie Spangler ♥ (trans 3/10) – I absolutely loved this book! it’s ANOTHER boy meets girl ~*~with a secret~*~ (i.e. she’s trans) book but actually really refreshing and lovely
  • Coffee Boy by Austin Chant (trans 4/10) – this is more of a novella than a novel and also NOTHING HAPPENS but it was still cute
  • We Are Okay by Nina LaCour (wlw 2/10) – a lovely, quiet, sad-but-hopeful book (in which the protagonist just happens to be gay)
  • The Argonauts by Maggie Nelson (trans) – I’m not counting this towards my goal of 10 because it’s a memoir by someone who’s married to a trans man rather than A Novel About A Trans Person, but it was a really great read!
  • Days Without End by Sebastian Barry ♥ (trans 6/10) – one of the most fulfilling Book Surprises of my life was realising that Thomas is trans!!! the cherry on top of an already stunningly beautiful and moving novel
  • This Is Where It Ends by Marieke Nijkamp (wlw 3/10) – I wasn’t mad about this book, but two of the POV characters are lesbians who’re in a relationship with each other (and iirc they’re the only relationship in the book) so it counts I guess
  • Hold Your Own by Kate Tempest (trans) – this poem is trans in a THE GODS HATH TVRNED ME INTO A WOMAN way rather than a regular trans way, so I’m not counting it, but it was ELECTRIFYING and I loved it

Request:  Okay so what if Emma swan and rumple and everyone want leverage? So they take the reader, pans lost girl, and kidnap her. They bring her to storybrooke. Pan is in love with her and all of the lost boys are protective of her because she’s one of them. She is like the left side of Pan while Felix is his right hand you get what I mean? So anyways Pan and the lost boys decide they’re going to go to storybrooke. Since they’re creepy as fuck haha they’re going to do everything they can to get her back. Meaning they put dream shade all over their weapons and are going to massacre everyone in order to get their lost girl back. So they get to storybrooke in a creepy large group with their creepy cloaks and their weapons covered with dreamshade (arrows axes etc). Also can Pan have a crossbow like the one he had henry use on Felix?

What This Family Does

My own fix-it fic - written before 6x17, but I didn’t publish it before. Slightly canon divergent, but not much… Killian comes back from Neverland, and Snowing are awake already. I felt Killian deserved a little more than just being forgiven.

title: What This Family Does

summary: Killian comes back from Neverland, and some things should not be swept under the rug.

rating: a very tame T - and F for lots and lots of forgiveness… because that’s what this family does, after all.

also on and ao3

When he’s finally back in their home, weariness settles into his bones as he sinks on the couch.

Staring into the fire that’s crackling against the crispy cold outside, his mind starts to drift, and he thinks back to the moment he was about to burn the dreamcatcher with his awful memories. Without even noticing, Killian runs his hand over his face and sighs.

David didn’t murder him, not even punch him in the face, on the contrary – he showed what looked like genuine relief, maybe even joy when he finally managed to return to Storybrooke, the bloody Crocodile’s offspring’s curse broken. But he knows there will come the moment – sooner than later, probably – when they’ll have to have a serious talk about the disastrous events that took place all those years ago, in that night he ran his vicious blade through a completely innocent man and destroyed yet another family.  In fact, destroying families and orphaning guiltless children seems to be his specialty.

But… he reminds himself that this is in the past, and he has finally made his peace with the fact that his past doesn’t define him. What does define him are his actions and his choices, the man he is now: the man who managed to defy the darkness of Excalibur, the man who stands up for his loved ones, the man who helps justice to be done, curses to be broken and families and lovers to find each other again. The man he is now – he knows and accepts it, that man deserves love, he deserves trust and he deserves a happy ending. And if he has to work a little harder for that, then he’ll do it. He’ll do whatever it takes to set things right with David, his best friend aside from Emma, and he’ll do what he must to prove himself to her, show her that he does have trust in her and their love. He can only hope that it is enough to make her believe in him again and trust in their relationship enough to make her want to be his wife.

The Pirates were a venomous crew of reptilian proportions, who didn’t play by the rules. They were of the privileged class, people who didn’t bother to think about their repercussions or the damage caused. Boredom is their motivation. Lives where everything is given to you, where money is not an issue, are lives that are awfully mundane. With a craving for possibility and the fire of resources at their fingertips, the Pirates seem to think themselves wonderfully immortal. They are the good ones gone wrong, a budding flower bitten at the stem by a poison with no antidote. In their blind want for something of substance, they chose to take as a method of getting what they want, but do not need. The local gas station cowers after a history of hold-ups. The department stores have lists of clients who are not allowed in; the Pirates are at the top.

Badass Princess

 Anonymous said:

Can you write an imagine where the reader is a princess who lands on the island but like she’s all tough and Peter finds out and is surprised?

Warning/s: nothing?

Summary: you’re a badass princess

Princess Y/N wasn’t allowed to leave the castle because of safety purposes but she was never the one to follow the rules so she left anyways. She leaves the castle most of the time to play with the other teens in the village. When her father found out about it, he freaked out. It’s a good thing that Y/N’s mom is a nice woman because she convinced Y/N’s father to just get her a teacher to teach her how to fight for herself and so he did.

Y/N’s father got her a good teacher named Mulan. Mulan taught her how to use a sword, a dagger and a bow and arrow. Y/N was a fast learner so she mastered everything in just a few weeks. Though, Y/N regretted breaking her father’s rules when a bunch of pirates surrounded her when she was currently out the castle.

“Looks like we got the princess” the captain motioned for them to get Y/N. Though Y/N tried to fight, the pirates overpowered her. One of the pirates hit her head, making her go unconscious.

Y/N woke up and realized that her hands were tied and there’s a cloth around her mouth, preventing her from speaking. “Oh look. The princess has awaken” a pirate mocked as he removed the cloth from her mouth.

“There will be no pirates left on this ship when my father found out about this” Y/N growled. The ship erupted in laughter as Y/N said that. “Oh princess, you’re quite the joker aye? Look around you. Does it look like we’re still in your kingdom?” the captain smirked. Y/N looked around and gulped when she saw that they were in the middle of the sea. The captain laughed when he saw Y/N’s nervous face. “I don’t think your father’s little minions can come all the way to Neverland.” He boasted. Y/N made a confused face. “Neverland?” she asked.

Before the pirate could even answer, the ship was raided by a bunch of teenage boys. When one lost boy walked towards Y/N, she smiled. She was about to talk when a bag was placed over her head.

‘Great’ she thought. ‘Kidnapped again’

“I swear when I get out of this, you all will be lifeless corpses” Y/N spat through the bag on her head. She only got chuckles in response.

After a while, the bag was taken off of Y/N’s head as her sweaty face became visible again. The one who looks like the leader grinned. “She’s got the looks”

Y/N gritted her teeth as she muttered ‘pig’.

“Oh. Feisty too. I’m Peter Pan by the way.” the guy slyly smiled. Y/N responded with a bitter smile. Pan walked over to her and held her hands.

“Now I’m gonna untie you. Don’t try anything, alright?” Pan looked at Y/N as she nodded. As Pan untied her hands, Y/N kicked Pan where it hurts and attacked the other lost boys one by one. Slamming her elbows on some faces and kicking them on the stomach.

When everyone was laying on the ground, she turned around to run but was met by a chest. Y/N looked up to see a smirking Pan.

“Well that was new. Who knew a princess could fight like that?” Pan chuckled. Y/N glared at Pan. “I just want to go home alright? Let me go and no harm will be done.” Y/N stood proud, showing off her royal blood.

“Was that a threat?” Pan chuckled.

Y/N took out a dagger that was hidden in her dress and pointed it at Pan making him chuckle.

“You know, you quite amuse me.” Pan started.

“I think I’ll keep you”

note: writer’s block. sorry this was short but I’m really dumb rn xD. For those ‘Part 2′ requests… I might post them .. not so soon. lol so sorry

There Is No Escape - Part 1

Summary: You are rescued from the waters around Neverland by Captain Hook and his crew with no memory has to what happened to you. But when you return to the island you soon find out.

Captain Hook/Peter Pan x Reader

Warning: None

Words: 1345

Your body is cold… very cold. You don’t know how you ended up in a vast ocean of water, or how long you had been in it, all you know is that you couldn’t swim any more. There had been no sign of land when you had first found yourself in the water and after swimming for however long you had been there was still nothing around you. Nothing but deep, dark, water. Every muscle in your body is aching beyond belief from the constant shaking as the cold temperature begins to affect you down to your very core.

This is it. This is how you were going to die. It’s a depressing thought but it is the only one that seems to be so very clear in your exhausted mind.

As your eyes begin to lose the fight to stay open and your face sinks beneath the gentle waves of the ocean you feel something wrapping itself around your wet hair, gripping it tight, before pulling you up and out of the water you’d been convinced was going to be your grave.

“Got her Cap’n!”

The deep, harsh, voice that now fills your ears is unrecognisable but you simply don’t care. All that matters now is that you are going to live another day. The hand that had pulled you out of the water now places you onto a hard surface and it is only now, as your eyes slowly fought to open a little, that you can make out several figures standing over you. Your vision isn’t as sharp as it would usually be though so there are no details on them that you can pick out….aside from one.

summary: peter comes to bring you to neverland, but it’s too late.

based on: some prompts from a quotes list

warning: ooc pan

A familiar pitter-patter on the window gave you the first clue of his presence. Windows jittered all night, a soft pelting of rain dropping outside. But this soft knocking on the window?

Anything but natural.

Even with windows locked and curtains down, you knew he’d get in. Pulling yourself from the warmth of your duvet, you crept into the kitchen drawing a cream cardigan atop your shoulders. A coffee mug soon appeared in your hands, the radiating warm of the caffeine inside exciting your fingertips for this not-so-exciting encounter. You sat idly in your dimly lit kitchen, waiting anxiously for his appearance, his explanation. The rattling windows halted, broken by the startling crash of a window being forced open.

He emerged from the bedroom, fading moonlight illuminating him softly. He glanced around your home, his head peaking until he spotted you.

“(Y/N)!” he rushed at you with a youthful excitement, warmly embracing you with your stoic return. He pulled away.

“(Y/N)?” his hands brushed your face, confusing lining the shadows that highlighted his features. He still had those glowing youthful eyes.

“Hello Peter.” you uttered, shifting forward into the moonlight. Your coffee mug clinked on the countertop.

His face twisted in visible disgust, his hands once resting on your hips fell to his sides. “You’ve changed.”

He pulled away, turning away from you. “I suppose I have, yes.”

“I only saw you the other night, (Y/N). You’re different - you’ve grown up!” he whipped back around, his childish temper evident in his scowl.

“How am I to be blamed?!” you shouted, advancing on him and bringing him to face you. “Ten years Peter, ten! I sat and waited by my window for you.”

He shuddered. “And I never came back.”

“God Peter, I loved you to the moon, but you never came back for me.”

It felt pathetic to cry, shedding tears over something long finished. He remained silent, the passing of time finally dawning on him.

“(Y/N), I-I’m so horribly sorry. I never meant-”

“I know, I know.” you interrupted gingerly, arms crossed. “You never meant for this.”

“You can still come with me.” he spoke through broken tears, resting his hands on your face, “I still love you (Y/N). This can still work.”

You wiped a stray tear from your eye and cast them downward. “We both know that’s not true Peter.”

“Do you not feel the same anymore?!” he yelled, temper rising again. “I know I made mistakes, (Y/N)!”

“I can never unlove you, I just love you in a different way now.” your eyes met his, his green soul weeping. “Things are just different now.”

He stood silent. “I, I suppose I understand.”

He started off, back towards the window. But your hand caught him first. You brought him in for a light peck on the cheek. “Thank you Peter Pan, for everything.”

He smiled grimly. “And you.”

With that, the boy king took his leave, nothing short of a goodbye. You watched as he drifted deep into the night sky, into a dream that could never be yours.

Peter Pan Imagine Request/Imagination

“Can you write and Imagine where a girl has imaginary friend named Peter Pan? Peter has been with the girl since she was young. Then when she’s older he asks if she wants to come to Neverland with him, and she says yes because she trusts him and he is her only friend. When. She gets to Neverland she realizes Peter isn’t there because he is dead. But her presence on Neverland brings him back.”

Warnings : Cussing, sexual, sexual harassment, death, mean parents.

“oh the cleverness of you.” you would giggle , your best friend in the world just did something mischievous , and of course got away with it.

You and him did everything together, you ran, skipped, jumped, got scared, even danced together.

You would spend every waking hour together, after all he was your best friend.

You loved him and he loved you, but your parents, well they had enough of your “imaginary friend”

“Why do you have two bowls of cereal Y/n?” your mom asked

“For Peter.” you simply stated.

Your mother gave you a concerned look, then looked at your father for guidanced

“Look hunny, your friend doesn’t need to eat.” he said

“Well why not?” you asked

“Because umm, well he is imaginary, and imaginary people don’t get to eat.” he said

“What ? Why?” you asked

“Because they don’t Y/n stop asking so many questions.” your mom said, trying to support your father

“I SAID ENOUGH” your mom yelled at you, which scared you and made you drop yours and Peter’s cereal.

“Ugh! Now we will be late for work, get yourself cleaned up and leave Peter here!” she yelled at you

Most days were like that, but you stood by Peter, and no matter how much you got yelled at, no matter how much you got grounded, no matter how much you got your phone, tv, and laptop get taken away, you stood by him, he was your best friend, and you weren’t going to let him go.

But as much as you stood by him, you were getting tired of it, and he knew it.

“What’s wrong love?” he asked as you lay on your bed staring at the ceiling.

“Peter it’s Friday night, everyone is at that awesome party, and we’re stuck here.” you said sitting up and facing him

“Well, why don’t we go?” he asked

“Because I’m grounded, AGAIN!”you stated , folding your arms.

“Ah, I see, well, let’s sneak out.” he said

“Yeah so I can get grounded again.”you rolled your eyes

“No love you won’t get grounded , I promise.” he said.

“Yeah, YOU won’t .” you say with an attitude

“Hey, this is the party of the year, let’s go.” he said, winking at you

You smile at him, “Okay.” you couldn’t resist him, he was just too damn adorable

You both get ready for the party

Once you arrive, you get welcomed by a couple of your friends from school, Peter just watches from a far and smiles. You give a smile back

After chatting with your friends you spot a cute boy that you’ve been crushing on for a while, and he was coming your way!

“Hey.” he said with a drink in his hand

Peter’s eyebrows knitted together. Obviously upset.

“Hi!” you said a little bit more energetic than you should've

“Didn’t think I would see you here.” he said

“Oh yeah I’m not really a party go-er , but I mean I’m trying.” you said

“Thats adorable.” he said

You just blushed and looked down.

“Awe you’re blushing, thats hella cute.” he said brushing his fingers against your cheeks.

Peter’s eyes became neon green, he was upset, but he couldn’t explain why. You were his friend, just his friend, right? He shook his head, trying to focus on something else, but he couldn’t.

You guys caved in and now touching each others arms and what not, you were so shocked, he was actually into you.

“So uh, you wanna go upstairs?” he asked

Peter’s head popped up quickly “The hell?”

“Excuse me?” you asked shocked

“Well, I mean you know.” he said bringing you closer to him

“Wait I’m not that kind of girl.” you said

“Oh come on, it will be fun!” he said grabbing your ass,

Peter marched straight to you

“I said no!” you splashed your drink on him.

“The hell, you stupid bitch!” he said yelling at you

“What a freak” some girl said

Others just laughed

Then everyone started chanting “freak, freak, freak, freak!”

Tears ran down your eyes, you just ran out of the house, the party ended as soon as it started for you.

You ran and didn’t care if Peter was behind you.

“Y/n!” he yelled out

“Go away!” you yelled back

You guys passed a park , it was dark, cold, and windy.

“Y/n stop!” Peter yelled at you

“Dont tell me what to do Peter!” you yelled back

“I”m your best friend I just want to be there for you!” he yelled

“You ruin everything!” you yelled at him

“What?” he asked quietly

“Everyone thinks I’m a freak, its because of you.” you sniffled and wiped your tears. “Peter, you’re not real, you know you’re not, but still, you incest on thinking that you are.” you cried

He walked to you, picking up your chin with his finger. “Do you want me to leave?” he asked

“I just need space.” you said, you walked away, crying , Peter slowly walked behind to make sure you got home safe, once he knew you did he went away, and slept in tree for that night

You wake up to no Peter for 16 years , you always woke up to him, but not today, it felt weird.

You didn’t feel like getting up, so you didn’t you just stayed in bed all day

It was 5 in the afternoon and you heard a tap on the window

You saw him, his face was filled with concerns , you spend the window.

“Yes?” you asked him

“I need to ask you something.” he asked

“Well ask.” you said with an attitude

Come with me.” he said

“What?” you asked

“To Neverland.” he said

“To who?!” you asked confused

“To Neverland.” he said, he was just staring deep into your eyes, wondering what you would say

“Where is that?” you asked

“It’s a place, that you will never, ever, have to worry about grown up things again.” he said

“Peter, I don’t know.” you said

He came behind you and wrapped his arms around you

“Y/n listen, I know you’re tired, come with me, Neverland is waiting.” he whispers in your ear.

You turn around, facing him “Never again?” you asked

“Never again.” he smiled

“Fine, take me.” you said with a smile

You arrive on Neverland, but Peter isn’t there.

“What the hell?” you said, did Peter lie? Did he leave you on this island to die?

Well you weren’t going to stay and find out.

You decided to explore.

Looking at the trees they never end, this place was remarkable, the flowers had the most sweetest smells to them, the atmosphere was more of a thrill, you could hear drums, and music, and boys?

You decided to go closer.

You see around 10-15 boys.

“That’s a looooot of boys. you said

You decided to sep back but you tripped over a stick and screamed

The boys ran over and saw you

“A girl?” a older boy with a scar said

“Why a girl?” he said

“I mean, she is hot.” an other said

“Shut up.” an other said hitting him in the stomach.

“Ouch!” he yelled

“Look where am I?” you asked

“You’re on Neverland.” a little boy said

“Do-do you know where Peter , Peter Pan is?” you asked

Suddenly, everyone became sad, some even took off their hats, others looked down

“What?” you asked, you were totally confused

“Peter, Peter died, a while ago.” the guy with the scar said

“What?” you asked, but now that you think about it, it made sense.

Peter was always imaginary, only you could see him, but what was weird what that you could touch him, and he could touch you.

“How long?” you asked

“Forever it seems like, time stops in Neverland.” the guy said

“Peter was my friend, I lived, well he lived with me, for 16 years, we did everything together.” you said

“I’m sorry.” the guy said

“No , I’m sorry.” you said

“Well , I’m Felix, and these are the lost boys, I’m head in charge now, but you are more than welcome to stay, even for a little bit, I can show you Peter’s favorite spots.” he said

“I’m Y/n and yeah that sounds good, I shall stay, just for dinner though.” you said, even though you felt safe with the boys, knowing that Peter wasn’t there unsettled you deep down.

Watching the boys interact with each other made you happy, in a way they all reminded you of Peter, its they all grabbed a little of his personality, it was cute, they must’ve really looked up to him.

The boys were amazing and talented, they knew how to fight, make food, they played the drums super well, they defended themselves, Peter taught them well.

That night the boys made a special feast for you, there was so much food.

“I don’t think I ever seen that much food in my life.” you said

“Well eat up!” one of the boy said,

You guys ate and ate tip you couldn’t anymore, with your stomachs full you decided that story telling was the best thing, because nobody wanted to move

You told stories all the time to Peter, and he loved it, so you thought why not the lost boys?

As the boys start to fall asleep, and the youngest lost boy fell asleep in your arms, you realize, you couldn’t just leave , not know, not ever, these boys needed you, weather they knew it or not, they did.

You had to stay, Peter would’ve wanted it that way.

The next day you made the boys breakfast

“This is awesome!” a younger lost boy said waking up, as he woke up the rest of the boys, they all smiled and thanked you, you made them start a line and one by one take their oatmeal.

They all made a line and got their breakfast, and their orange juice, it was exciting, they learned really fast, for these boys didn’t know the meaning of manners

You lived on Neverland for a couple of months now, the boys do their own laundry, they clean their own tents, and they things like excuse me and thank you, all of this because of you, who would’ve thought a girl would change so much.

Well After a couple of summers go by, and you’re officially the “queen” of Neverland, someone arrives on Neverland

You were all sitting by the campfire, it was the afternoon and you guys were roasting marshmellows, when all of a sudden you heard a voice, I familiar voice.

“Hey you guys gonna save me some or what?” he said

You turned around you dropped your stick in disbelief .”P-Peter?” you asked

“Yeah, thats me.” he said ever so cocky

“But how?” Felix asked

“Y/n actually, her presence , it brought me back., I wouldn’t be here without you love.” he said walking over to you,

You get up and now are face to face with him

“I-I can’t believe it.” you said , tears running down your face, “You’re real?” you asked

“I am, only in Neverland, if you leave, I won’t be real anymore.” he said

“Well , then , I shall stay.” you said as you wrapped your arms around his neck.

He smiled and grabbed your chin, pulling you in closer to him, and kissing your lips ever so softly.

His lips tasted like mint, his lips felt like velvet, his hands felt like clouds wrapped around your waist, wanting more, you pulled his neck in closer, tongue wrapped around each other fighting for domain ,he won, you guys pulled away and smiled at one an other

“Do you understand how long I’ve been wanting to do that?” he smiled

You smiled and just laughed.

You both lived on Neverland, happy as can be.

Idk but to me I felt that the ending for Bleach was when Ichigo lost his powers. It feels right to me... Where would you consider the ending Bleach?

i actually enjoyed the fullbring arc, so i personally would’ve preferred it if bleach ended right after ichigo got his powers back! i really like how it showed us what happens after The Hero’s Journey ends and they return to their ordinary life. it’s like, what’s wendy gonna do after coming back from neverland, u know??

except now, it’s all about how ichigo’s disconnected from his friends and family, how he’s dissatisfied with his human life, how he’s saving up to move out of his house after graduation (his house!! that we know and love!! that was there since the first chapter!!) and i thought it was quite symbolic how every single person in ichigo’s human life turned on him under tsukishima’s mind control -  suggesting he doesn’t have a place in the human world anymore. and the ones who rescue him are, of course, shinigami.

in the end, it comes full circle. it’s raining, everything’s gone to shit, ichigo’s just about given up on life. and we finally get to the epilogue of years of powerups and ridiculous ass-pulls, but in a way that i can suspend disbelief because it’s callback, and callbacks make sense.

the end!!!!

( not to say the fullbring arc was perfect - after it ended, i was really upset that kubo completely dropped the ball on karin’s development. she was perfectly set up in the beginning to become karakura’s next substitute shinigami, but that never went anywhere. :/

also, yuzu’s fucking weird infatuation with ichigo that literally parallels inoue’s infatuation with him, not seeing him as a person but as “an illusion”…… what the fuck happened there lmao )

Forgotten Home

request: HI hello :) I was wondering if you could do an imagine where the girl is a young child when she first goes to never land and the lost boys get a long with her. Then she returns years later with the shadow and pans all shocked ect. I love your writing and if you can do this then thank you so much!!

author’s note: thank you so much for requesting! this is a little different from the original request because i’ve read stuff similar to this prompt before, so i hope you still like it! pan may seem a little out of character; i had a hard time writing his character when interacting with a child that he is supposed to be close to. i haven’t edited this, so i apologize for any mistakes xoxo

-8 years old-

“Y/N? Where are you, darling?” I hear my mother’s feet on the creaking staircase. “It’s time for bed.”

I hold my breath as she knocks on my bedroom door. I cover my mouth with one sweaty hand to keep her from hearing me laugh.

She doesn’t wait for me to answer her; she pushes the door open and steps into the pink room. “Y/N,” she calls. “Come out now, sweetheart.”

I stay under my bed, staring at her slippers with anxiety. I try to scoot back further to avoid being seen, but my butt awkwardly hits the mattress above me. My eyes squeeze shut from both the shame and the aggravation of giving away my hiding place.

My mother’s feet turn towards me and walk to the edge of my bed. “Y/N, love, please.”

           Sighing, I crawl out.

My mother gives me a sad smile, warm palm cupping my dirty cheek. “What were you doing, Y/N?”

“I was hiding,” I say quietly.

“Why were you hiding from me?”

           I frown. “I wasn’t hiding from you.”

She returns my look, though she appears more confused. “Then who were you hiding from?”

King Of The Poisoned Youth - Chapter ONE

King Of The Poisoned Youth is going to be a series of chapters set in an alternate reality version of Once Upon A Time, focusing on Peter Pan and Captain Hook. It’s told in the point of view of Raven, who is (unbeknownst to her) Hook’s daughter.

Take note that the title might also change.

Plot: Raven has lived her whole life on the Jolly Roger, aiding her father and the crew on their many voyages and expeditions. Hook loves her deeply, and she is the thin tendril that keeps him from spiraling into a bloodthirsty need for revenge on the one who killed her mother. Hook has kept Raven secret from Peter Pan; Pan doesn’t even know she exists, and Hook plans to keep it that way for good reasons. But luck isn’t always on his side. One night during a very bad storm, the Jolly Roger was unknowingly steered into Neverland’s waters. Raven was blown from the ship and she crashed into the raging sea. In the struggle, she nearly drowned. The waters beat her around like a ragdoll so viciously she was knocked unconscious. Fortunately, as fate was to have it, she survived. Her body washed ashore of Neverland overnight. But she awakes with no memories of who she is or where she came from. That’s when Peter Pan finds her, and he figures out pretty quickly who she is. He takes a liking to how defiant, confident, and skilled she seems to be. And in a way to get back at Hook for keeping Raven a secret, he decides to indulge in playing a game, and Raven is his pawn. He never intends to fall in love her though. Surprise! Turns out, Pan is capable of loving someone else other than himself. In his own twisted way. And after Hook comes to Neverland in search of his missing daughter, Pan will do anything to make sure Raven stays his.

I awoke with a start, sucking in a huge gulp of air. Frigid water lapped over me, slightly pushing and pulling my body back and forth with each roll of waves. I heaved myself onto my side, coughing and retching as salty sea water spurted from my mouth. Panic surged through me and I struggled to sit up. I was in shallow water that was only a few inches deep, and it felt arctic. I coughed, tasting nothing but salt in my parched mouth.

Though a warm breeze washed over me, I was unforgettably cold. A grayish-white sky stretched into the distance, meeting in a straight line with the ocean. The sound of waves crashed over each other against large rocks met my ears.

My head throbbed and I pressed my hand against it, briefly shutting my eyes at the pain. Within a few moments it lessened. I stood, which made me realize how weak I was. I felt drained. My legs shook slightly, I was dizzy—mostly with confusion. My soaked clothes were freezing and sticking tightly to my body, therefore I shivered visibly.

As I splashed to the shore, I noticed how battered and bruised my body really was. I was sore all over and my legs felt as heavy as stones.

Out of the water now, I hurried over the pebbles and onto the sand, hugging my body in a feeble attempt to warm myself. The white sand I was standing on ended about fifty meters from the water, lined by tall, sinister looking trees that faded into darkness.

Where was I? How did I end up here?

I racked my brain for any memories but found nothing.

Raven, I thought suddenly. How random. But that….that was the only thing I could remember about myself. The only thing I could remember at all. Raven. The word echoed in circles inside my throbbing head. My name is Raven.

I didn’t understand how this could be possible. My mind functioned without flaw, trying to calculate my surroundings and predicament. Knowledge flooded my thoughts—well, more like hazy details of the world and how it worked. It all came to me naturally. And yet I didn’t know where I came from, or how I’d gotten ended up lying in the water, or even who my parents were. I couldn’t recall a single damn thing about myself or who I was; just my name. I didn’t even know my last name. All I knew was that I was standing alone on this seemingly-desolate shore, and that my name was Raven.

I slowly eased myself to the ground, hugging my knees to my chest. I was so cold. I looked down at my clothes: I was wearing a black boned corset with strings pulling it together in the front. My white gypsy shirt was ripped along the sleeves as if a giant bear had clawed them. My tight black pants also had a few tears.

I took off my brown leather knee-high boots and dumped water from their soles before putting them back on. I had a belt with a satchel and sheathe—I pulled a dagger from the sheathe and felt along the blade. It was sharp. At least I had a weapon.

That’s when I noticed I was wearing a large, curved, black claw tied to a string around my neck. I held it in my hand, feeling its sharp point. What kind of gigantic animal did this come from? Frustration made me clench my fists. Why couldn’t I remember anything?

I sat there for a while, shivering, trying to remember something. Anything. My mind was blank. I racked my brain until it hurt and still came up with nothing.

Eventually, when my clothes had dried enough to be only damp, I began walking along the shore, looking around. I saw nothing but trees and thick vegetation on one side, and the minacious ocean on the other. For some odd reason I can’t explain, the forest radiated a menacing feel. I wasn’t ready to go in there yet.

I kept going till I found some low, flat rocks that spilled from the sea. I sat on one, relishing in the warmth the surface held. And I put my mind to work. Right now I had hardly any options. I was out in the open, exposed, vulnerable, hungry, parched, cold, bruised, and I couldn’t remember a damn thing about how I ended up here. What kind of animals lived here? Where there other people? Minutes ticked by as I weighed my options.

Groaning in frustration, I let out a big sigh. If only I could remember! I slowly rose to my feet. What I really needed was water. I decided that’s what I would go after first. Drinkable water.

“And who may you be?”

Startled, I spun around at the voice to see an older boy standing behind me. He stared at me with idle curiosity; yet his gaze held iniquity to them that made my skin prick. A feeling of gloomy darkness seemed to slide like a shadow over me. It vanished in an instant, but it was undeniable. His smile wasn’t friendly. It was a smile that spelled trouble. With a promise.

He was tall and lean, with rich chocolate hair tousled in griminess that promised finesse. His strong arched brows really brought out his eyes—they were deep and catastrophic, a dark green that was the color of the forest. His fair skin made him look devilishly handsome. But there’s a dark energy about him that ebbed and flowed as unpredictably as the waves of the ocean. I could almost feel it. And my gut instinct was screaming he’s extremely dangerous!

This only took less than a few seconds to take in. I yanked my dagger from its sheath. “Who are you?” I demanded, unable to look away from those eyes—they seemed to be holding me in his piercing gaze even though that was physically impossible.

“I’m Peter,” he said nonchalantly, taking a step closer. “Peter Pan.”

I didn’t reply, but I continued eyeing him. How did he even get so close without me noticing him before? Surely I’d have heard him?

“Sound familiar to you, laddie?” he asked.

He narrowed his eyes, lifting his chin, as if not pleased with my answer. “How did you get here?”

“I don’t know.” I flicked my dagger to indicate the sea. “I literally just woke up here on the shore. No memories of anything else.”

“Looks like you had a nice swim,” he noted, his gaze travelling up and down my body.

I looked down at my battered, sandy, wet clothes. “Yeah, that’s what it looks like.” I don’t want to look away from him for long, out of fear that he will do something. There is a weird light in his eyes, a way he looks at me, that sets me on edge.

“What’s your name?” he pressed.

“Raven. That’s all I remember: Raven.”

He smiled, cocking an eyebrow. “Raven?” he tested. “I like the sound of that.”

I frowned, unsure of the complement. “Okay…um, Look, Peter Pan,” I cast a glance at our surroundings. “Where are we? What is this place?”

“Why, it’s Neverland, of course.”

“Neverland,” I repeated, a little too enthusiastically. That sounded familiar, like I’ve heard it before. “Is there a village near?” I could get some answers there. Some food, maybe.

“A village?” Peter Pan scoffed. “No, I’m afraid you won’t find any villages here. Villages mean a kingdom, and a kingdom means a king. We don’t have any kings in Neverland.” He paused, then smirked. “Just me.”

“Oh?” Despite my feelings of weariness, I mocked a bow. “My apologies, your Majesty, I wasn’t aware that I was in the presence of such….royalty.”

Peter Pan rolled his eyes. “And I wasn’t aware I was in the presence of such a dweeb.”

“Fair enough.”

Was he like a leader of some sort? He did seem have an aura of authority. And I just knew that this boy knew a lot about Neverland, everything, maybe. I needed to get information from him.

That’s when I saw he had a sheath around his waist, and it was longer than mine. If he had a weapon, that means there’s something on this island that he needed to defend himself from. This sent dread creeping through me. Was it animals? Or other people? He sure as hell looked as if he knew how to fight.

Peter Pan watched me with one eyebrow raised and his arms crossed, the faintest hint of a smile edging his lips.

“What?” I said wearily.

He shrugged. “What?”

“Is there a way to get off this island?” I pressed.

“Yes,” he answered vaguely. “There’s a way.”

“You’ll need my permission.”

“What?” I frowned. “What do you mean?”

His expression suddenly grew sinister and he stepped closer, his dark eyes boring into mine. “No one gets off this island without my permission.”

Anger and defiance washed away my fear. “Who are you to decide if I can leave this island or not?” I retaliated.

Peter Pan suddenly pulled out his knife, which sent panic fluttering through me. I gripped my dagger tightly, raising it in a defensive stance.

“Do you want to find out? Let’s see what you’re capable of, Raven.” Before I could say anything in response, he lunged at me. As I leaped out of the way his blade painfully cut my arm. I had no time to linger in shock at his sudden attack. Furious, I slam my dagger toward him but he blocked it with his wrist hitting mine, and kicked me hard in the stomach. I doubled over, in which he took advantage to kick my rib cage and send me crashing to the ground.

Outraged now, and refusing to be humiliated like this, I nimbly rolled over and pop back up to my feet, bringing my dagger down on him in a slashing motion.

He narrowly avoided it and his knife almost plunged into my side before I instinctively knocked his arm away and kicked him hard in the knee. He fell back but just as he hit the ground his legs swept out and rammed into mine. I stumble backwards. Peter Pan was up on his feet again in an instant. I barely managed to block another blow with my arm and slice my dagger at his torso but it never connected. He vanished into thin air right before my eyes, and my blade cut through nothing.

Bewildered, I looked around wildly. What the hell?! Suddenly, a knife was pressed against my throat, and I could feel him standing behind me. I narrowed my eyes, lowering my weapon in defeat.

“That’s not fair,” I growled. The word magic popped into my mind. This bloody demon had magic. And though it should have surprised me, it didn’t.

“You’re not bad,” Peter Pan noted. “I’ve got to say, I’m not disappointed.”

“Are you going to kill me?” I was panting hard, glaring at him as best I could without turning my head. I was defeated and completely at his mercy because he cheated, and that made my blood boil.

To my surprise, Peter Pan’s knife left my neck and he stepped away. “Actually, I’m not,” he said as I turned around to face him, smoldering. “You interest me. I’ve got a game in mind I’d love to play with you, so I can’t have you dead just yet.”

A game? I stared at him, puzzled and dreadful. What in the devil’s name did he mean, a game? I forced myself to repeat, “Yet?”

“Yet,” he confirmed, staring at me with those goddamn intimidating, piercing green eyes.

“So you still plan on killing me, huh? After playing a game with you? Like what, tag?” I scoffed. “After you just attacked me like that? I’m not doing anything with you! You’re crazy, and no help at all.” I pointed my dagger at him to show him I was ready in case he tried anything.

“I can be plenty of help,” Peter Pan assured.

“I just met you and you attack me out of nowhere,” I spat, cupping my hand over the cut on my arm. “I don’t want your help anymore.”

Peter Pan let out a breathy chuckle. “Oh boy, you have a lot to learn about this island.” He arched an eyebrow. “And me.”

“Oh, I’ve learned enough,” I said, throwing it like an insult. “Your name is Peter Pan, you’re ‘king’ of Neverland, you’ve got magic, and you like to attack people with no warning or reason.”

“Are we listing the obvious?” The corner of his mouth quirked up. “Okay, my turn, then. Your name is Raven, you’ve lost your memories, you can fight well, and you’re attractive.”

I opened my mouth for a fiery retort but stopped dead at that last past. Did he really just—

“Oh, and you’re wet,” he added. “Soaked through-and-through. Come to think of it, Raven, I know I’m hot, but that’s a little too much; I mean we just met. Though I’m flattered.”

My mouth fell open and my eyes widened at his wildly inappropriate comment. “I cannot believe—”

“Sh, don’t say that,” he interrupted. “This whole island runs on belief. You’ve got to believe everything, laddie.”

“Wow, you really are crazy,” I hiss.

“That’s one way to put it.” He twirled his knife in his hands and I took a step back, eyeing it warily as he slipped it back into its sheathe. “Call me Pan.”

“I’ll call you narcissistic.”

“And I’ll call you captivating, love.”

Something ringed in my head from what he just said, something I couldn’t put a finger on. I frowned, my mind frothing with frustration. Why did I suddenly feel something, like a little crack to my lost memories?

“What is it, love?” Pan asked, saying ‘love’ with a bit of charm because he thought it annoyed me.

There it was again, that spark of memory, but I couldn’t quite grasp what, and it scuttled away before my mental fingers were even around it. “Nothing,” I said flatly.

Pan was gazing at my dagger, and all the teasing in his face died. “What’s that?” He pointed to the handle.

I moved my hand down it slightly, revealing a skull and crossbones etched into it. “It’s a marking,” I answered in a duh voice.

Something sparked in Pan’s eyes, and he looked at me with furrowed eyebrows and a taut jaw. He seemed to be studying my face now, before his eyes moved down to my clothes, then back to my dagger.

“Is something wrong?” I demanded, uneasy.

His face spread in a smile. It made the hairs on the back of my neck raise. This grin was nothing short of twisted.

“No, nothing at all,” he assured, both eyebrows raised. He turned and scanned the sea, then looked back to me. “Raven, are you thirsty?” he asked, changing the subject.

“Yes,” I replied.

“I can quench your thirst. If you want.”

I stared at him, knowing there was a hidden innuendo meaning to it. “With water,” I said. “Then go for it.”

Pan faced the trees, pointing with an outstretched arm. “Head northwest into the jungle, just keep going straight, and you’ll find a river within a couple miles.”

“How do I know you’re telling the truth? I can’t trust you.” I said.

“I guess you’ve got no choice.” Pan flashed a grin at me.

I uneasily walk toward the trees, to desperate for freshwater to give myself time to poke around and try to find out more. “If this is a trap, Pan, I swear on the devil I’ll—” I turned back around and stopped myself, realizing he was gone. Nowhere in sight, without even leaving a trail. Where did he go? Why did he just disappear? And why was he helping me?

More questions added to the list of things I had no answer too. I looked up at the sun. I had a couple hours until dark. I best start my trek so I’d make it to the river before nightfall.

With my dagger in hand, I entered the jungle. The trees swallowed me up more and more until I could barely see the ocean between the trunks. My eyes were met with every shade of green imaginable. Broad, glossy leaves hovered over and around me, dotted with brightly-colored, large flowers. But just as unmistakable as the beauty here is the feeling of danger so thick it stirs the air.

I stood still for a while, listening to the muffled/

Then I started my trek. I found myself cutting my way through the dense, suffocating undergrowth, fighting through the very air, which hung heavy, moist and still. Trees so tall I couldn’t see where the ended surrounded me, and a strange green light shimmered through the vast canopy of leaves. This jungle seemed to have an intelligence of it’s own. It was an assault on all senses. The virescent hues were the foreground, the background, and as high up as I could see. The heat and humidity pressed in on my skin, making sweat pointless. The sounds of the insects, the birds, and the larger animals created a symphony of nature calling me deeper. The leaves brushed up against me, some soft, some rough. The air tasted both sweet and fresh, like flowers blooming on my tongue.

I became lost to my thoughts. Was I stupid to trust a boy who attacked me? Who had a dark energy about him that set me on edge? Yes, I am stupid. Very stupid. But I also felt like I had no choice. Maybe after getting some water I would think more clearly.

But for now I knew one thing for sure: I couldn’t quite put my finger on it but something about Pan wasn’t right. Wasn’t normal. Wasn’t….safe.

There Is No Escape - Part 14

Note: Your plan to go behind Pan’s back was exposed, Felix’s death had been staged, and now you find yourself locked inside an impenetrable cage with the boy responsible for all your pain sat before you. Will he finally reveal why he is so determined to keep you from Killian? (I know this chapter isn’t as exciting as some of the others have been so I apologise for that but there WILL be a final showdown soon!)

It’s only when night finally seems to fall around you that you can’t bare the silence anymore. The question burning away in your mind no longer wants to remain unanswered and so it forces itself out.

“Why are you doing this to me?”

Your question surprises Pan and for the first time ever you see a flash of uncertainty cross his features. You even see his adam’s apple bobbing up and down as he swallows nervously. He was expecting you to kick off, yell at him, maybe even rattle the cage in anger… your usual fiery self but your question is laced with a pain and sadness he isn’t used to at all.

“Would it really matter if I told you? It’s not going to change anything….you will still be in that cage.”

In which the reader is the only girl on Neverland and Peter is sending mixed signals but one day it all gets sorted out while looking for Oysters.

You can probably imagine the look of shock on the boy’s faces when the shadow brought a girl back. If you had been an onlooker and you weren’t the one being brought to a strange new place then maybe it would’ve been funny but at the moment you were in a state of shock. In front of the group of boys there stood a lone boy, obviously the leader from the confidence he was exuding. He was an attractive boy with sparkling green eyes and light brown hair, if you had to guess you would probably say he was 17 but you were never really good at guessing ages. Unlike the rest of the boys, he didn’t seem fazed at all that there was a girl in front of him. He looked at you for a couple of seconds before turning to the boys with his arms thrown out to the sides “Well boys,” he said “Meet the first Lost Girl.”

At his statement the boys began to cheer. He turned back to you with what you figured was probably his signature smirk “I’m Peter. Peter Pan. And these are the Lost Boys,” he said with a wide sweeping gesture of his arms to indicate the boys.

You smiled and let out a small laugh. Peter Pan, ever since you had heard about him as a child you had been dreaming about what it would be like if he were real and now that he was, it was like a dream come true. “Wait, like Peter Pan from the Disney stories Peter Pan?” You asked, probably with a little too much excitement.

He shook his head and laughed, “Not exactly, love,” he chuckled “Those stories do not do me justice on so many levels, but you’ll soon come to realize that this Neverland is not the land of hopes and dreams that you seem to think it is.”

You frowned at that, you thought Neverland was supposed to be a good place, a place where you could go to belong and find a family. “What do you mean?” You asked, starting to get nervous.“

Peter smirked at you "You’ll see soon enough but for now it’s time to play a game,” he said before turning back to the boys “C'mon boys, let’s play!” He yelled as the Lost Boys broke out into a loud cheer.

*Three Months Later*

He was right. Neverland was nothing like the books and Peter was nothing like the Disney character. But that didn’t mean everything was bad, sure the island was bright and sunny all the time and Peter could be harsh and cruel but you felt like you belonged and you felt like you had a new family.

At first, you were terrified of what the future had in store, the boys seemed barbaric and after your welcoming Peter showed his true nature as a harsh and cruel leader, he was not kind and he did not appreciate freeloaders. That’s why you had learned to hunt and fight and cook and build. You had to prove yourself to Peter and prove yourself you did. You became the best fighter out of all the Lost Boys, a lot of that was attributed to your natural balance and skill with a sword but you had taken a few beatings in the beginning but you improved exponentially each time.

Once you had learned how to fight you had been determined to not be the boys’ mother but one day when the shadow brought a particularly young boy to the island you couldn’t help it, he reminded you so much of your brother back home. And while you were one of the best fighters and you were always at the front lines when attacking an enemy, you did spend a lot of time at camp taking care of the boys. You spent the mornings harvesting and the afternoons preparing dinner and then in the evenings you would soar with the boys, it was always good practice for them and Peter always loved to watch.

That was another thing. As time went on you found yourself spending more and more time with him. He would normally walk with you in the mornings while you were looking for berries and he would always sit by the fire and wait until the sparring was over and the boys had gone to bed so he could walk with you to your tent. Normally you would think that a guy liked you if he was going out of his way to be around you but with Peter you just had no idea. He would be friendly and kind to you when the two of you were alone but he all but ignored you if the boys were around. You really liked him but you kept your feelings to yourself, not wanting to get hurt or put Peter in an awkward position. It was so frustrating.

Today you were going to the shore to try and find some clams or oysters. As you were walking you heard something land on the ground behind you “Hey Peter,” you said without a glance back. You knew it was him, none of the animals would get that close to you and if it had been a Lost Boy you would’ve known about him for awhile now.

“Hey Y/N,” Peter said, jogging a few steps to catch up to you, “What’re we doing today, love?”

“Well, I’ve really been wanting to eat something other than berries or deer or rabbit or bird so I’m going to look for oysters,” you responded with a small shrug.

Peter smirked and raised an eyebrow “You know what they say about oysters don’t you?” He paused “They’re an aphrodisiac,” he teased as a reached over and twirled a strand of your hair around his finger.

You blushed and swatted his hand away playfully, “Oh shut up,” you laughed “That’s not why I want them.”

“You’re right I don’t need an aphrodisiac, I can charm you all on my own,” Peter said seductively, flashing you his signature mischievous grin.

You rolled your eyes “Yeah, right,” you said sarcastically. It was taking everything inside you not to let him know that in all reality you thought he was really attractive and that he was right, he didn’t need an aphrodisiac.

He frowned slightly “What do you mean?” He asked “You don’t think I’m attractive?”

You sighed, you knew where this was going but you didn’t want to ignore him “I didn’t say that,” you said.

He smirked “So you do think I’m attractive then!” He exclaimed.

You shook your head “I didn’t say that either.”

He grabbed your hand and stopped walking. You turned back and faced him, your hand still in his. “Well which one is it?” He asked “You either do or you don’t.”

“It’s not that simple,” you said softly “Even though I’m attracted to you, I don’t like how you treat me. You all but ignore me when we’re at camp but then you’re nice to me out here on our own and I don’t know why.”

Peter sighed and looked down at his feet “It’s because I don’t want them to know I like you, I don’t want them to think I’m weak,” he admitted quietly.

Peter just said he liked you. That’s all that was going through your head. Peter Pan liked you, you couldn’t believe it. You took a small step closer to him and brought your free hand up to the side of his face “Hey,” you said gently “You aren’t weak, you’re the strongest person I know and I’m sure the boys would say the same.”

Peter looked up at you and time seemed to freeze. He suddenly leaned in and gently placed his lips against yours. It took you less than a second to lean into him an kiss back. After a few moments, Peter pulled away “You never answered my question love,” he said teasingly.

“I think this answers it,” you whispered as you pulled him into another kiss.

You never did get your oysters that day but it was completely worth it.
