The Princess Garden visited a suburb northwest of Paris, to Colombre’s pioneering garden project R-Urban. We told our story in front of interested listeners and neighbors, who want to transform urban wastelands into resilient urban developments in exchange for an opportunity to learn and create more local economic activity. R-Urban is a project by “Atelier D’Architecture Autogérée,” an organization that creates community networks through resilient urban practices. An urban garden with room for workshops, residencies and shops are on site and a recycling center in the form of a container architecture has emerged. R-Urban is also a collective of ecological living. Given the 21st century’s radical changes, there’s a strong need for resilience. The R-Urban principle is to "produce what you consume and consume what you produce”. In this new equilibrium, living and working and involving local people through collaboration creates solidarity and strong networks.
Near the Princess Garden, Gruppe Stealth from Rotterdam, who works for Co-Housing had a presentation.
