DAY SEVEN - FAVOURITE GAME COUPLE

I know… They aren’t a couple so I’m not sure if this counts… But this duo has brought out more emotion in me that any video game couple ever has. The character development for Joel from a non caring, old man to being more like a father for Ellie is just phenomenal.

Now the second isn’t a couple either. But they are the closest friends I have ever seen. Plus drake and sully make one hell of a team.

DAY TWO - FAVOURITE CHARACTER
Well, I’m going to have to fall back to my Nintendo upbringing. My favorite character would have to be Link from Legend of Zelda. He’s the character that I have followed the most and have been the most excited about to see his new reincarnation in the next installment in the Zelda universe. Although I’m still upset the games are called Legend of Zelda when link is always the one doing the rescuing.

Bitches be tripping & jealous ‘cause you did it first, and they didn’t have the guts too.
I’m proud of you.

Ooo you didn’t really tell that gamer girl off, you just made yourself look just as bad with all that ignorant language’

Atleast someone other than me is on your side.

DAY NINETEEN - GAME SETTING I WISH I LIVED IN

I grew up in Kanto - I was that generation. Pokémon Red (or Blue, of course) for me was one of the kick starters of my gaming addiction; dreaming amongst the soundtrack and ultimately teaching me to throw small rocks at animals. The simple beauty of Kanto’s towns, hidden amongst the savage over grown forests of its countryside will always be a location I would happily get lost in all over again.

DAY THIRTEEN - PLAYED MORE THAN 4 TIMES

I could once boast a standard completion time on this title of about 2 hours almost certainly due to how often I would play it. Crash Bandicoot for PlayStation 1 was just a base, standard game back in the day that I would genuinely be surprised if no one had played it in some way shape or form. As I’ve been typing this, my mind has completely sang out the Hog Wild theme music.

DAY FORTY TWO - EVILEST VILLAIN

There are so many examples I could say here; antagonists who are greedy, destructive, murderous, dangerous, megalomaniacs, brutal. But to me, they aren’t quite as evil as GLaDOS in the Portal series. The exact definition of evil is - profoundly immoral and wicked, to which we can all agree that she wholly is. She is sarcastic, narcissist, she lies to you, she puts you down with genuinely mean statements (such as your weight or slowness in completing rooms), she tricks you, she hurts you, she betrays you, she kills any emotional connection you gain (be it with a Companion Cube or not), she exudes dry humour, she’s bitter and cruel, she’s a constant threat to your health, she completely controls you and your entire environment. You are simply an ant in her world, and an ant you are 100% aware she can dispose of when she gets bored. Now THAT’S evil.

DAY SIXTY - ALWAYS WANTED TO PLAY

As mentioned before, I wasn’t privileged with games and consoles from a young age. I played what I could that we could have and spent any second at friends houses playing what was a whole new world to me! One of the main franchises I missed out on ENTIRE was the Legend of Zelda games. I’m fully aware of which ones are classified as the best - Majora’s Mask, A Link To The Past and Ocarina of Time, but there are just too many to for me to begin now. Too many overlapping stories. Too many memes to understand. My only experience of Zelda was chopping up the grass outside a cave - and I cry deeply every time I remember I’m yet to save my own Princess Zelda.

Who’d of known?! Not all games involve shooting terrorists in the face and throwing tiny irritated birds at LEGO! I’ll forgive you if this was your previous impression on video games, as you may not of heard of a little known indie app called ‘Regency Love’ being released on Monday 16th of December!

First up, we need a little history lesson - you’ll find yourself placed in late 1700’s running up to the mid-1800’s where you’ll be buried up to the neck in the gorgeous Regency Era of Britain. No longer will your mind be concerned with the newest Apple products or the winner of this year’s X Factor; now your main concern will be the proper length of time to stay for dinner and which character is your best suitor for marriage!

Yes, welcome to 'posh’ Britain - architecture, literature, fashion, politics and culture are the main key to this game and you’ll learn how to talk, act and be a proper British lass or gentleman in no time. Granted, this game will be LUDICROUSLY difficult for any parties not interested in this kind of refinery - think Jane Eyre for reference…

The game itself - gorgeous. It’s a simple 'talkie’ title with the primary function just to interact with local villagers and make yourself known however you see fit (I chose the polite path, but I can tell you can be a right moody whatsit). The focus is upon these interactions, making friends and chatting with the charming people the countryside have to offer. Each character is presented with minimal animation but impeccable, hand-painted realism, which almost certainly adds to the regality of each individual.

There are multiple extra challenges for you to face in regards to questions testing your knowledge on a varied amount of topics including fabrics, money and proper ballroom etiquette, all resulting in winning 'Motivation Points’ to be allocated to the learning of many skills; Needle craft, Dancing and Reading to name half!

It’s INCREDIBLY simple to use and it’s one of the least obstructive UI’s I’ve seen on an app game - in fact there isn’t even a tutorial! Luckily for me, I have had experience in Literature Studies so I was able to progress with no hassle at all, but I really can see a massive wall blocking the way to all those unprepared for the era and lingo - it’s not modern day slang and the English we’re used to.

The game as a whole delivers a brand new role-playing experience that explores the world of British Regency in a simple and very addictive hand-held adventure - a must for literature and historical lovers. Make sure you check out @teaforthree on Twitter for more information on release. :)

DAY SEVENTEEN - FAVOURITE ANTAGONIST

Again, I’m gonna break this into two answers, as I suck at legit answering questions. First up, a villain that makes my entire body freeze up and sweat in terror. He really needs no other introduction, it’s Pyramid Head first seen in Silent Hill 2. And in the second corner, was perhaps 2012’s most notably beautiful bad guy, Handsome Jack. Whilst you see him for only a small portion of your time upon Pandora, Jack electrifies his role in Borderlands 2 by playing a genuine asshole about 98% of the time he’s breathing. If one person can straight up tell me they didn’t laugh at a single joke of his (specifically his ‘Butt Stallion’ speech), or even attempts to deny the magnetic personality being projected through his practically perfect voice acting, is just kidding themselves. Or just plain stupid.

DAY FOUR - MY GUILTY PLEASURE

Whilst I feel in no way guilty about playing this game, I would happily give up my entire life’s collection of titles to just indulge in the Sims universe for the rest of my life. I can get a job, have a baby, go to university and live a perfectly pleasant and normal life without getting off my ass and torturing myself with the attempt to replicate it IRL - I know what wins here.

DAY SIX - MOST ANNOYING CHARACTER

I have owned up in the past to hating and never particularly playing any Final Fantasy game, so when me and  a friend decided to play Final Fantasy 13, the immediate appearance and running animation of Vanille made me happy of my previous choices. As a genre, I would never define JRPG’s as ‘awful’, just as '100% not my cup of tea’, and Vanille can be used as my entire evidential proof.
