coach's son

When Bitty returned to the Haus, eyes sore from crying and cheeks aching from smiling, he started at the sight of a familiar car parked outside.

Wordlessly, he turned to Ransom, who smirked at him. “I’ll hold your plaque,” he said, far too innocently.

With a small gasp, Bitty shoved the award into Ransom’s hands and darted towards the front door, barreling into the entryway like a man possessed.  He looked around wildly, until he noticed the shadow moving within the kitchen.

When Bitty poked his head into the room, he did indeed find Jack Zimmermann leaning against the counter, checking his phone. The moment he saw Bitty, Jack straightened up and tucked his phone away, holding his arms outstretched.

Holding back a childish squeal, Bitty launched himself at Jack, wrapping arms and legs around his boyfriend as tight as he could. Jack laughed and held him up, letting Bitty pepper kisses across the side of his face.

“I got the C!” Bitty shouted, wiggling a little. “I got the C!”

“Congrats, bud,” Jack said softly. “Knew you had it in you.”

“Unanimous, Jack,” Bitty said, pressing their foreheads together. “Just like you.”

“Better than me,” Jack said automatically. “But, yeah. I’m so proud of you.”

Bitty melted against him, so happy he thought his heart might jump straight ouf of his chest. “Thanks, baby. This is…this is so much. I- I gotta call Mama!”

Jack laughed harder as Bitty tried to slip from his grasp, just holding him closer. “In a minute, Bits. Just…stop for a minute. Let it all soak in. Be proud of yourself, you’ve come so far.”

Bitty sighed, half in exasperation, half in contentment, and let Jack set him down on the counter. “I am,” he whispered. “I…I just love everyone so much.”

“And they love you,” Jack said, resting his hands on Bitty’s hips. “More than you’ll ever realize.”

“Look at us,” Bitty said with a goofy grin. “The only two unanimously voted captains of the Samwell hockey team. We could be the start a dynasty.“

Jack barked with laughter, head tilted back, and he shook his head in amusement. “We sure could, Bits. We sure could.”

((OOC: Played around with a few of Viktor’s looks tonight… because thats what normal people do when they can’t sleep, right?))

Can you imagine how shitty Wymack must have felt when Kevin told him he was his son? Wymack, a man known for saving these rag tag kids, had his own child, a human being he should have been responsible for, train with the Ravens. Wymack knows the Ravens abuse their players psychologically and physically, and Wymack was so oblivious to not know he had a child. It’s his fault Kevin was with the Ravens, it’s his fault they they trained him to be a machine, it’s his fault.

Two young twins (Ethan and Justin Coach) play your young son who’s 4-year-old Day. What was it like to work with those two twins? Working on Imperial Dreams—it wasn’t only a career move or something to do with building my artistic muscle. It actually built me and showed me snippets of how I would be if I was a father, when I am a father.

Two Beers and the Truth

An extremely late birthday fic for @wrathofthestag, who shares my hopes for Coach and Bitty. Here’s a little fic about how I hope the summer goes for the Bittle Clan…

Bitty knew that coming out to coach would end one of three ways.

The first scenario was the one that had kept him silent since middle school when he realized that it didn’t matter how many girls stole kisses from him, he just wasn’t interested. He could see Coach’s face turning to stone, the way it did when the Dawgs lost a game in overtime, and hear his father’s steely voice proclaiming I have no son. Some nights he would still wake up shaking when he thought about that scenario, if he was lucky, Jack would be there to gather him up and mutter soothing bits of nonsense into his hair as he trembled.

The second scenario was more likely, but still not something Bitty was looking forward to. Coach would press his lips together until they disappeared behind his mustache, then nod with a resigned air. If he was lucky, Bitty would get an awkward slap on the back and Coach would mutter something Suzanne told him Oprah said to say. It would be disappointment, but acceptance. Some days Bitty wondered if that wouldn’t be worse than outright anger.

The third scenario Bitty blamed on Chowder, who seemed to think everyone in the world would be thrilled with a gay son. In this dream setup, Coach cried, opening his arms to his son and assuring Bitty that he could never be prouder of a child. They would cry together, then, hugged up on the porch swing, talking about life and maybe boys.

Bitty bit his lip, wondering which scenario he would be living through. He rolled his shoulder, preparing for a disappointed pat. He glanced at his mother in the kitchen.

With a sigh, Suzanne moved to the refrigerator, picking out two beers and holding them out to Bitty. She kissed his forehead. “Go on, I’ll be doing dishes if you need me.”

Bitty nodded and looked toward the porch again.

“I can do this,” he muttered. “For me. For Jack.”

Football Jack and ballet Bitty

Filed under: WIP AUs buried in my docs, collecting dust and not doing anybody any good. Time to air some out. 4.4k (how??) and rated T

Bitty leans against the barre, relieved to watch the lumbering group of football players stomping out of his upstairs studio. The first of ten ballet lessons had gone about as he’d expected; listening to them complain. The rest was convincing them to get into first, second, and third positions. An easy start, but with the amount of people in the room it warmed up quick. One fan isn’t near enough to combat the body heat piled on top of the Georgian summer. He leans into the weak flow of air as they leave, some offering him a weak ‘thanks, Junior,’ before sprinting to their freedom.

He wants to be positive about this. After all, how long has he wanted his father to validate his interest in something other than football? Bitty spent so long twisting ballet into something his father could relate to: flexibility, precision, strength. It took some time. It took a lot of time, until Bitty took a teaching job and Coach couldn’t pretend his son would snap out of it and lace up his cleats once more. Having Bitty teach his boys - it’s a peace offering, and Bitty’s not going to turn it away. He’ll just have to buy some air fresheners.

“Not so bad, eh?”

HIROKO <3

One thing I’ll never stop loving about YOI is just how CHILL Hiroko, Yuuri’s mom, is about Victor.

Like here’s the normal reaction. Minako embodies the attitude of the media and basically anyone who gets the news that Victor is gonna coach Yuuri.

LIKE HOLY FUCKING BALLS THE VICTOR NIKIFOROV IS GOING TO COACH YOUR SON????

But this sweet, sweet woman, is not one bit shook. She already has a nickname for Victor.

The thing is, it’s not that surprising.

She’s seen all those posters up in her son’s room and the way her son looks at them when she helps him vacuum. She’s fished her credit card out of her purse when teenage Yuuri just HAD to get that limited edition poster of Victor and Makkachin. She’s overheard the thousands of fawning conversations between Yuuko and Yuuri about just how AMAZING Victor is.

Hiroko is probably so used to seeing Yuuri adore Victor that she probably thinks it’s normal for them to get together eventually.

He be shoppin for Killy in Killy’s clothes (aka buying a store’s worth of chocorobos for his boyfriend)

[IM SUPER SORRY FOR NOT POSTING IN AGES!! I have been really busy with band practice and then track and doing field events until around 6pm so ive just been super extra exhausted lately. (also im not sure if i drew Killua’s shirt right, I had like 30 mins to draw smthn so I couldnt really pull up a ref aaaaa)].

Coach

Summary: He always knew Dicky was different. Not bad different, just not like the rest of the boys in the neighborhood. A glimpse into the relationship of Coach and Bitty, and how Coach comes to terms with it all.  Also on AO3

“So, Dicky. Do you want to watch a movie?”

Coach was happy to have Dicky at home. His visits had become far and few between, a rare thing, ever since… well, recently. Suzanne was out with her bowling league, so it was just the two of them for the evening.

“Sure, Coach. What do you wanna see? I think Predator is about to start,” Bitty replied as he grabbed a bag of Brother Kane potato chips from the kitchen and settled into the couch.

He then took the remote and was browsing through the channel guide.

“Also Rocky III is on, uh… Casino. What else…”

Coach watched his son and smiled listening to the movie choices being offered to him.

He always knew Dicky was different.

Not bad different, just not like the rest of the boys in the neighborhood. When he was younger and the other coaches had their boys in pee wee leagues (already drilling the eye on the prize mentality into their heads: “One day you’ll be the star quarterback, son!”) he would look at Dicky and sigh knowing that wouldn’t be his son’s fate.

And he made peace with it, for Dicky was always kind, always helpful, always wore a smile on his face and a smudge of flour on his cheek.

Bitty: But Coach, I’m twenty-

The Puzzle

Jesus, this is a lot. Ryan’s the second most important person in this AU, and he’s bringing a lot of new shit with him to the table, and somehow this ended up being over 5K. Fucken wild. Anyway, I hope you enjoy!

Ryan wasn’t quite like the others.

Oh, he was immortal of course, and his immortality worked similarly to the rest of the crew’s. He would die, his body would appear back in the last place he slept, like the others did (after their initial death, of course). Except, he got there a bit differently.

As far as he could tell, the others had been born with their immortality. They would live, die, and be stuck at that age for the rest of time. He didn’t know why that happened to them, but that was how it was.

He, on the the other hand, wasn’t born with it.

He had been a champion gladiator at the height of the Roman Empire. He was the best there was, the people adored him, as did his employer.

And, also, apparently, Mars.

The god of war was impressed with his skills in battle, and offered him a deal. Eternal Life, in exchange for his services in war.

Who was he to say no?

On History and Dinner

Summary: A non athletic!Jack fic, where grad student and history nerd, Jack Zimmermann meets the cute Samwell student/baker Eric Bittle at the Bread and Butter Bakery.  Picks up right after On History and Pie.  Jack takes a chance and meets Bitty for dinner. It’s their first date.  A collaboration with the wonderful @zim-tits featuring her lovely artwork. Also on AO3

Bitty was closing up shop for the evening at Bread and Buttery Bakery when he heard a small tap. Lardo smiled as she looked through the large picture window and saw who was standing on the other side.

“It’s your boy, Bitty,” she said.

He glanced and saw Jack standing outside as he waved shyly.

Chowder unlocked and opened the door. “Welcome! Come on in.”

“Thanks,” Jack said as he came in slowly, looking at Bitty with a soft smile.

Bitty closed the register and smiled in return as he walked from behind the counter toward Jack.

“Hi, Jack.”

“Hi, Eric. Bitty.”

The two wordlessly stared at one another, smiling. Lardo, taking pity on them, cleared her throat, “Uh, Chowder, can you help me with something in back?”

Chowder frowned disappointed he wasn’t going to be able to watch.

“Sure, Lardo.”

“You came,” Bitty said. “Thanks for that. Thanks for trusting me.”

“My uncle says… well, never mind, but I’m the one that should be saying thanks – for the shortbread. It was really good.”

“Really good? I was aiming for so amazing it would make you wanna slap your mama but then again, I’m sure you love your mama, so really good will do.”

Jack laughed softly, “I do. So, are you… that is… if you’re still interested…”

“Jack, would you like to go grab something to eat?”

Jack smiled, relieved that Bitty had taken the lead.

“Yes, I’d like that.”
