She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.

- Proberbs 31:25

A woman in God has no need to fear; she is covered by her father in strength that comes from Him and dignity only He can bring her. She laughs because she knows her Father got her in His arms and has a perfect plan for her. She rests, knowing that she is loved.

Day 17/30: Your Hope Story

She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future. - Proverbs 31:25

1. Be confident in knowing that because God is the One who holds your future, there is nothing to be afraid of. Sometimes we fear the future because we’re thinking about what went wrong last time. Maybe we put our hope into a relationship and then they let us down. Perhaps we thought we were going on a mission trip or to a certain college and things fell through and just like that, our dreams were crushed. It’s hard to deal with this in our hearts over and over, and sometimes it wears us down and we don’t want to put hope in anything anymore. We let ourselves only think of the bad that might happen to the point that it paralyzes us. But today’s verse is a reminder that that is no way to live. Because of Christ, we have hope and that’s the hope that saves us. We no longer put hope in the things we see or what we’ve experienced. It’s about putting our hope in something more, something Eternal!

2. So don’t be discouraged when it seems like your hopes and dreams are crushed, because it’s time hope instead in Jesus. Even when you’re sitting there with a lot on your mind Jesus is right there and He wants you to lift your eyes and look to Him. His hope is the only hope that’s going to save you!

3. As empty and discouraged as you may feel at times, know that your weakness isn’t too much for God. The Apostle Paul actually encouraged the Roman church of this in verse 26-27: “the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.” Wow! be encouraged knowing that this applies to you. No matter how weak you feel, it’s not too much for God to handle because He is the One giving you hope! Hold onto that!

31 Days To Knowing Your Worth
Day 20/31: You Are Clothed In Strength In Dignity

She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come. - Proverbs 31:25

This verse is a biblical reminder that what’s happening in us on the inside is far more valuable than what’s happening on the outside. Sometimes, it can be difficult to grasp what it means to be “clothed with strength and dignity” when you don’t feel all that strong. Perhaps as much as you try to be strong for yourself or for your family, you get emotional and you can’t help but to cry or mentally check out. Maybe you’re frustrated or impatient with people who don’t respect you or take you seriously. Maybe you just don’t think of yourself as being as strong as you need to be.

If you have ever felt that way before, know that that’s where God’s grace comes in. The Apostle Paul reminds the Corinthian church of this in 2 Corinthians 12:9: “But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”

What this means is is that even though we don’t feel like we can walk around embodying strength and dignity, and even when it just doesn’t seem realistic at all to laugh without fear of the future, that Christ’s power is resting in us. If we try to be super positive all the time and always be the strong one, we will only disappoint ourselves. Why? Because we are only human. We must be dependent on God even when we’re stressed. Even when we feel inadequate. Even when we’re ashamed of being too emotional or not emotional enough. Our strength and dignity and ability to move forward comes from Him!

When one finds a worthy wife,
her value is far beyond pearls.
Her husband, entrusting his heart to her,
has an unfailing prize.
She brings him good, and not evil,
all the days of her life.

She is clothed with strength and dignity,
and she laughs at the days to come.
She opens her mouth in wisdom,
and on her tongue is kindly counsel.

Her children rise up and praise her;
her husband, too, extols her:
“Many are the women of proven worth,
but you have excelled them all.”
Charm is deceptive and beauty fleeting;
the woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
Give her a reward of her labors,
and let her works praise her at the city gates.
