YEAH YEAH MY GRUNK ANGST LYRIC COMIC IS FINALLY DONE! Please read the left-hand column, then the right, THEN the last picture! It’s a little odd, sorry, but I wanted to show the symmetry of the two brothers’ growth and fall.
The lyrics are from “Scars And Stitches” by Guster. I take the song to be looking back on what you thought your life would be like when you were a kid, and the mess that happened instead. But maybe there’s hope, and you can move forward. Please??? The sailboat can be taken to be the urn in the song–a symbol of a promise and bond broken, “tossed into the sea,” but also something that they need to move past and stop dwelling over, have some closure and toss it away themselves.
Hoo boy, I’ve been working on this on and off since October of 2015, and now that the finale is upon us I pushed myself through to finish!
I’m coming over, running every red light. To hell with the closure; save it for another time. Try not to think about you, but it ain’t working. Why put out a fire when it’s still burning? Just when I think moving on’s getting closer, I’m coming over.
