clone club fan art

I am hereby formally declaring that all Clone Club members and Orphan Black fic writers who fell to the malaise of season 3 will be revived and rejuvenated by season 5 and will once again produce fan creations of the highest order.  So it is written, so let it be done.

Marketing Brilliance

The more I think about it, the more I am convinced that the release of these two Cophine clips is a calculated act of marketing brilliance.  We have less than 5 seconds of footage, and I’ve seen no less than a dozen theories offering explanations as to what is happening in the clips.

  • Want to see a Cophine wedding?  We can show you that, if that’s what you want to see.
  • Want to see a sinister plot with lots of moving pieces and something overtly creepy happening?  We can show you that, if that’s what you want to see.
  • Want to see a clone impersonating another clone?  We can show you that, if that’s what you want to see.
  • Want to see Cosima undressing Delphine for the epic sex scene you’re starved for?  We can show you that, if that’s what you want to see.
  • Want to see Cosima trying to soothe rattled nerves by giving Delphine a beautifully tender kiss.  We can show you that, if that’s what you want to see.

5 seconds of footage equates to days of stories, fan art, and lots of friendly discussions within Clone Club.

I am amazed by the brilliance of it, and part of me loves it.  Another part of me is scared shitless that we’re walking headlong into a baited field.

Don’t let us down, Orphan Black.  I just couldn’t take it if you did.
