“So? Doesn’t that mean I fulfilled my part of the deal?”
“Aw, c’mon, Pops!”
“I don’t know why you call me that, I’m not your father, Mezzoalto.”
“Yeah, yeah. Can we get back on track here? With Clodd in police custody, you’ve made a big step in getting Bigbucks. You don’t need me anymore.”
Dan began to chuckle as he spoke.
“When you’re right, you’re right, Mezzoalto. From the moment Clodd handed you that briefcase, he was done for and everybody knew it. As far as I’m concerned, our mission was a complete success and I’m happy to sign you off.”
Mezzoalto started to smirk.
“Just one more thing,” said Dan.
Before continuing, Dan leaned in and reached out for a handshake. Mezzoalto instinctively responded accordingly, pulling him close to Dan.
“I’ve learned a lot from working with you, Mezzoalto. Turns out you’re one of the good guys, and I’d hate to see you muck it up. Try to look after yourself from now on, alright?”
Mezzoalto pulled away quickly after.
“Yeah, yeah. You don’t gotta worry about me, Pops.”
I miss the old peridot to be honest. the one with the limb enhancers. I think she was a lot more superior and loyal. but I feel that she didn’t pay attention to anything but orders with them on, and now that they are off she is willing to adapt to her surroundings only because her limb enhancers acted as her defense mechanism.
This is a Clodd fic based off of drowninginthebrevity’s prompt of When Claudia and Steve have to question Todd, under a new identity, in reference to their mission, both Claudia and Todd have trouble pretending that they don’t know each other for the sake of Todd’s cover. So keep on sending in prompts for any of my Claudia pairings clinks clarrish clargo or clodd.
