click show

How can I get my bird to pick up an object? I really would like to teach my bird some tricks but a lot of them require picking up an object.

The main concept is your accuracy in utilizing a clicker.

The more precise you are with your clicker usage the better you’ll be able to reward the bird for all the tiny micro-steps they’ll make that lead up to actually interacting with an object.

There’s a couple of ways to go about it, you can use target training to get them closer to touching specific objects, reward for any sort of movement towards an object (looking at it, turning towards it, accidentally moving towards it, touching it, grabbing it), or use treats as a method for getting them closer to an object (hide treats under the object, near the object, engage the object in play).

Your ability to mark (click) exactly when they show any sort of progression towards something is what’s going to teach the bird that interacting with the object is what you want from them.

As always the first thing I would suggest training your bird is target training, it will help you learn to use a clicker, get your bird an easy concept to start to understand what training means to them, and really sets you two up for the best success with communication.

The Night Court - Inner Circle ~ The court of dreams

“The people who knew that there was a price, and one worth paying, for that dream. The bastard born warriors, the Illyrian half breed, the monster trapped in a beautiful body, the dreamer born into a court of nightmares. And the huntress with an artist’s soul.”

my submission for the @tatinof-illustration project ^-^ i had the broken arm scene, which was quite interesting to draw yet still very fun omg~

obviously couldn’t do the full story clip since it was longish so i just took some snippets (which explains roger as the king of broken arms and fetus phil being mad that the stairs and totoro failed at breaking his arm)

(please do not repost! reblogs are super appreciated though <3)

I would like for y'all to meet my little 2 week old Irish Wolfhound puppy… Prompto! He’s the runt of the litter and a very sweet boy. He might be smaller than the rest, but he’s a tough guy!

there’s a chinese exchange student in my composition class and we were being presented something about how you can use brackets to signify translation and there was chinese text on the screen and the prof said to him “what does that say?” and he deadpanned “i can’t speak chinese” and everyone sat there in dumbfounded silence and then the presenter clicked to show that the text literally said “i can’t speak chinese” with the most shit-eating grin on his face

There was an episode, like, really early on, when I came running up and I jumped over the couch and my heels hit the edge of the couch and I slipped off and took it right in the shins with the table. And the punch bowl just kinda goes, “whoosh,” like this, and everybody is like, still. And I hold it still, and I’m like- you just can’t smile now. And I’m like- “Stay in character. Stay in character. It doesn’t hurt. It doesn’t hurt.” And everybody else starts laughing. I remember watching the episode and going, “They kept it. That’s awesome!" I like making people laugh, and if that helps to make people happy, I’ll hurt myself a little bit. - Ashton Kutcher, That ‘70s Show
