denying that exercise is good for your body, skin, and mind, but the sweat
produced during a workout can clog your pores and make you break out. Clear up
your skin with the PanOxyl® 10% Acne Cleansing Bar.
Ever wondered what blackheads are? When the oil and dead skin cells that are trapped in your pores make contact with the air, it oxidizes and darkens, causing the familiar appearance of a blackhead. Their favourite place to cluster is around the nose area, where they hang around being annoying! Regular exfoliation is the key, so give blackheads the boot and say hello to clear skin with a product like Simple® Clear Skin Oil Balancing Facial Scrub. It uses ingredients like zinc and chamomile to fight spots and blackheads, while the light scrubbing action removes dead skin cells and keeps pores lovely and clean. So it’s effective and gentle at the same time.
You can go a long way to preventing them with regular exfoliation, though try not to overdo it. “This is a gradual process and needs to be dealt with gently,” says our skin and make-up expert, Caroline Frazer. “Once or twice a week is enough for most people’s skin. Scrubbing too hard can cause irritation to the skin, so it’s important to be gentle.”

This is my skin in high resolution, raw and unfiltered… straight out of the camera. I would have NEVER posted a shot like this… never in my whole life! Hell, I wouldn’t have posted a shot of my own skin this raw and close up 2 months ago. This portion of my face (on both sides) was plagued with deep cystic acne, insanely clogged pores and bright red surface acne. It was seriously not cool. In pictures it looked like a rocky terrain you could find on a map of a foreign land.
I was already in the habit of eating clean but 2 months ago I threw away pretty much every skin care product in the medicine cabinet… if it had chemicals it was trashed. I swapped out an expensive Aveda “acne cleanser” and replaced it with Purpose (a cheap soap-free cleanser) and I began using Organic Apple Cider Vinegar as a toner 1-2 times a day. I replaced my moisturizer’s with 100% organic aloe and grape seed extract water. I began exfoliating with warm organic coffee grounds once a week and increased my water intake. I began eating raw red cabbage like it was my job. I also began replacing other foods in my clean diet with those that are known to help keep hormones in balance.
The result: Well as you can see I have one tiny pimple and a few slightly congested pores that I used steam to open up and clean out last night. My scars and deep marks are fading and plumping back up… looking better daily with the use of apple cider vinegar, aloe and freshly squeezed lemon juice.
Next week I will be putting together a special post for anyone out there suffering from bad breakouts and constant acne. I’ll be posting images of the stuff I’ve been using and explain in detail how I’ve been using everything… when, where, how much pressure to apply… you name it!
I suffered with awful and painfully blemished skin for most of my life. I feel like I’ve been battling a horrid monster for 20 years and I have finally won. I’m hoping my posts about this find others who are fighting the same fight. Even if I only help one single human being with this… every second… every word typed… all my effort… SO WORTH IT.
Yep, we know it’s tempting to touch your face – especially when you feel a spot developing. But if you can possibly avoid it, it’s a good idea not to, because your hands could spread bacteria and dirt to your face, clogging pores and inflaming spots, a sign that your skin is sensitive and not working at its best. Make sure you wash your hands regularly, as prevention is better than a cure! Also give them a wash before you wash your face, so you’re not washing any germs and impurities into your face.
Bear in mind it’s not just your fingers that carry bacteria. Think about all the things you use on your face every day like flannels, make up brushes and sponges. Clean everything regularly, and also wash your hands before dipping your fingers into pots of cream and make up too.
Everyday I start my morning with herbal tea and fresh squeezed lemon, immediately followed by water and aloe. Through out the day I’ll have a big bottle of water with added chia seeds. I usually rotate between herbal tea, aloe, and chia water when I’m not drinking veggie smoothies or juices. At night before bed I have hot water with Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar and a teaspoon of honey. I aim to hydrate 30 minutes before eating solid food so that the water doesn’t dilute my body’s ability to break down food. We should be drinking half our body’s weight in ounces each day so be sure to drink your water!!!💦🐳🙌 #hydration #water #health #routine #cleaneating #clearskin #healthybody #fitfam #fitspo #beauty #detox #solution #healthtips #weightloss #acne #headaches #cure #medicine #drinkup #whatveganseat #rawvegan
Rice water has moisturizing, antioxidant, and healing properties that helps in achieving glowing youthful skin and healthy hair, something women in Southeast Asia, Japan, and China have known for centuries. Who knew rice water would be beneficial for both skin and hair…seriously, who knew? Rice water is jam packed with vitamins B1, C, E, as well as minerals, which aims to tighten the skin, shrink the appearance of pores, soften damage skin and fade dark spots. It’s healing and moisturizing properties aims to improve circulation and ease inflammation, making it super beneficial to those with acne. And when used as a toner, rice water can offer mild protection from the sun. In addition, washing your hair with rice water can improve manageability, decrease surface friction and improve hair elasticity, leaving you with softer, longer and overall healthier hair.
“Let the rice soak for a few minutes until the water turns cloudy…after soaking the rice you can boil the rice water and rice together, using excess water on your face. Keep in mind, after boiling the water will have more starch in it, so you definitely want to use cotton pads to apply the toner (once the water has cooled down). Rinse away for a couple of minutes and pat your face with a bit of cold water.” — Beautytips4her —

Confidence is throuuugh the roof today!! I actually feel really pretty today. I love my body and I love my skin. Oh my god
I look at these pictures, and to not see a SINGLE pimple is mind blowing. I could NEVER imagine this day to be here.
I was SO convinced (prior starting Accutane) that I would be alone forever, that i would be anti social and isolated for the rest of my life, that I would never be full of life again. I had lost myself, my confidence, my self esteem and I never thought it would return. I could never look at myself in the mirror without my eyes filling up with tears & having immense hatred towards the Universe and myself. I was convinced I would never have smooth, pain free skin again… because I was cursed. I was convinced that I was a deformed creature that shouldn’t even be alive. I was convinced my life would be a living in hell forever and that I could NOT see ANY possibility for change. I was convinced it was all over.
Today, i’m filled with such gratitude and appreciation for everything. I’m not sure if i’ll ever get used to this.
My eyes are tearing up as I type this. Im beyond happy.
I love all of you who have been by my side from the beginning, middle and end. I love all of you for the immense support, for bringing me up whenever I felt down. Im so glad we went through all of this together.
