classic trends

and that was an episode i was slightly worried about - an important one as the first proper adventure of a doctor and a companion, helmed by a writer with an unfortunately unsuccessful previous episode, and advertized as a quirky “oooh look funny emojis” fun adventure
and it turned out to be, quite frankly, a classic
so the trend of “this series seems like it’s gonna be amazing” continues

I hope the “live action remake of an animated classic” trend dies forever soon, especially since “animated remake of a live action classic” would be a billion times better

Like, let me have Studio Ghibli’s Die Hard or Dreamworks Animation’s Pulp Fiction before I have to watch Emma Stone’s Ariel sing to a hyper-realistic CGI Sebastian or whatever

Currently reading Persuasion by Jane Austen for @colourmeread‘s February challenge. I initially thought I’d pick up a poetry book since my experience with poetry has been fairly limited so far but then I looked at Jane Austen and couldn’t say no. Saving poetry for another day.

Marilyn Monroe’s beauty tricks:

Makeup:                                                                                                               - 3 different shades of red lipstick (darker on the edges and lighter in the middle, created the illusion of bigger lips)                                                             - She used short false eyelashes (part of her iconic eye makeup)                       - Marilyn’s beauty mark was real - she had it naturally (but was almost the color of her skin tone) and all she did was enhance it with makeup

Exercise:                                                                                                             - Lifting five-pound weights (repeated it 15 times)                                                - An everyday run at the morning (20 mins)

Eating:                                                                                                                 - Breakfast: warm milk, two raw eggs, a dash of sherry                                        - Lunch: broiled steak, salad                                                                                - Dinner: lamb chop, raw carrots                                                              - Snack: sandwich

Skin Care:                                                                                                            - When not wearing makeup she would put olive oil on her face to protect her skin                                                                                                                       - Nivea moisturizing lotions, Erno Laszlo products, Regular Controlling Lotion
