You fascinated me
Cloacked in shadows and secrecy
The beauty of a broken angel

I ventured carefully
Afraid of what you thought I’d be
But pretty soon I was entangled

You take me by the hand
I question who I am

Teach me how to fight
I’ll show you how to win
You’re my mortal flaw
And I’m your fatal sin
Let me feel the sting
The pain
The burn
Under my skin

Put me to the test
I’ll prove that I’m strong
Won’t let myself believe
That what we feel is wrong
I Finally see what
You knew was inside me
All along

That behind this soft exterior
Lies a warrior

My memory refused
To separate the lies from truth
And search the past
My mind created

I kept on pushing through
Standing resolute which you
In equal measure
Loved and hated

You take me by the hand
I’m seeing who I am

Teach me how to fight
I’ll show you how to win
You’re my mortal flaw
And I’m your fatal sin
Let me feel the sting
The pain
The burn
Under my skin

Put me to the test
I’ll prove that I’m strong
Won’t let myself believe
That what we feel is wrong
I Finally see what
You knew was inside me
All along

That behind this soft exterior
Lies a warrior

You take me by the hand
I’m sure of who I am

Teach me how to fight
I’ll show you how to win
You’re my mortal flaw
And I’m your fatal sin
Let me feel the sting
The pain
The burn
Under my skin

Put me to the test
I’ll prove that I’m strong
Won’t let myself believe
That what we feel is wrong
I Finally see what
You knew was inside me
All along

That behind this soft exterior
Lies a warrior

The pictures come to life
Wake in the dead of night
Open my eyes
I must be dreaming

Clutch my pillow tight
Brace myself for the fight
I’ve heard that seeing
Is believing.

What Having “Warrior” In Shadowhunters Means To Me

Dear Ed Dector, Lindsay Wolfington, and McG,
When I put “Warrior,” the first song I ever wrote inspired by a book, on YouTube, I didn’t know what to expect. I certainly didn’t think that 3 years later, it would have gotten over 1 Million views on YouTube, inspired countless covers and fan-made lyric videos, and been recognized by the wonderful Cassie Clare herself. At the time I was just an avid reader and book lover. I am still those things, but I get to add “musical artist” to the list. Writing and sharing this song literally changed my life course and has allowed me to do the thing I love most in the world: make music. The amount of support I have gotten from the TMI fandom is overwhelming and wonderful, and they want “Warrior” to be part of Shadowhunters as much as I do. Because at my core, I am still that book lover that fangirls whenever I hear news about the show. I want “Warrior” to be in Shadowhunters as an artist, yes. But more than that I want it because it would be my ultimate dream as a TMI fan. With this song I created something that is not only important to me, but seems to be important to this fandom. I hope that it will become important to Shadowhunters.
A dedicated fan,
Beth Crowley

TMI Challenge Day #10: Saddest Moment.

  • Throughout the complete series, even when Magnus and Alec broke up, I never thought something would top that for me. Until this.
This broke my heart and shatter it to pieces, before it got built back up again. I have never cried so hard. It was beautiful and so loyal to see Simon sacrifice himself for Magnus to be with Alec, despite Magnus never getting his name right, until the very end. Then to have him forget his best friend along with his life.
When he named his band The Mortal Instruments; I just dropped the book, and curled in a ball. For him to remember something so small, but which made the biggest rift in Shadowhunter history, that is massive. It proves he’s meant to be the Shadow World. Our Simon is a warrior and forever will be. :) ♥
