Now, I’ve never driven a Citroen, or even seen one in person. But I would have to say that the best part of this 1970 DS21 sedan has to be the steering wheel! And could the stereo be any farther away from the driver?
Speaking of design triumphs, the iconic DS is nothing if not one of the best designs in automotive history. This handsome example was parked conspicuously outside the Baccarat Hotel on West 53rd Street. It sports two-tone paint, gold badges and a whimsical “Louis XV” vanity tag, and was not among those Dee Esses that gathered for the French car rally we covered back in 2011.
2015 Model DS21 Pallas. Citroen is launching DS as a separate brand at the 2015 Geneva Motor show. “The 2015 model DS 21 Pallas show car is a tribute to the history of the 1955 DS. This iconic car, which celebrates its 60th anniversary this year, is the heritage from which the DS brand draws its inspiration today. The staff at the DS Style Centre ‘revisited’ a DS 21 Pallas with the idea of bringing our heritage and the present together in one car. The model on show in Geneva is finished in Ink Blue – the launch colour of New DS 5 – and features the same semi-aniline leather found in the top-end versions of today’s DS models”
