The image is of Erich Kunzel and The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra’s performance of Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture issued by Telarc (Originally in 1979).

This recording is infamous for tearing apart HiFi systems.

The massive grooves are from the digitally-recorded Napoleonic-era brass cannons fired during the finale. The record jacket is accompanied by the warning “Caution: Digital Cannons” as the levels have been known to crumble woofer surrounds and the grooves known to send styluses skipping across vinyl.
