cincinnati masters 2011

“A lot has happened since, he’s been very injured, let’s put it that way, he’s been out for almost a year; so it’s been hard for him, that’s what I told him at the net. It’s been nice to see him back on tour, you know, he’s a great character for the game, he’s got a wonderful game when it’s flowing. And you know, I mean, it’s tough, first round against against each. And, you know, I’m happy I was able to get the better of him, I really thought I played a really solid match because that’s what it took against him again today.” - Roger Federer on Juan Martin Del Potro

Tomas Berdych defeats Roger Federer 6-2 7-6(3) in the Quarterfinals at the Cincinnati Masters

Match statistics:

Well, I don’t understand what tennis is anymore. Federer and Nadal keep get out before the semi finals. This is all rubbish. I don’t know what to say but, I am really f*cking angry. I hated that match. The commentators kept saying how sluggish and passive Federer was every half a minute. Berdych was screaming in pain or something, because of his shoulder in the second set. Roger didn’t look happy. The match just felt… like death.

Federer Reflects On Loss To Berdych In Cincinnati

Watching this I cannot hold back the tears anymore. Roger knows what he did wrong and he wants to improve and he is trying to think positive. But this is so cute and I can tell that he is sad and he is giving the press conference his best. :( Roger you will always be a champion in our eyes, never forget that!!

Round 2 of the Western & Southern Open

Hello, and welcome to round 2 of the Cincinnati Masters! We all have to remain optimistic for this tournament and give Roger all the support possible!! Today Roger will be playing Juan Martin Del Potro, after Del Potro’s somewhat default win due to Andreas Seppi’s retirement.

Roger holds a 6-2 head-to-Head against Del Potro. The two matches Del Potro has beaten Federer in are the two most recent times they have met, and on hard courts. And one of those matches was of course the incredible US Open 2009 Final, that Del Potro won 2-6 7-6(5) 4-6 7-6(4) 6-2. The head-to-head is leaning towards Roger’s side, but I am scared and worried for this match because I don’t know what to expect from it.

Roger’s match will be the fifth and final one played on Centre Court today and it scheduled for not before 8.30pm. BEST OF LUCK ROGER!!!
