Q: How much racial diversity exists in Albuquerque?
A: According to New Mexico Indian Affairs Department:
“There are 22 Indian tribes in New Mexico - nineteen Pueblos, two Apache tribes (the Jicarilla Apache Nation and the Mescalero Apache Tribe), and the Navajo Nation, and a considerable urban Indian population which is also served by the Indian Affairs Department.”
I personally come from the Navajo Nation in a small town/small reservation called Churchrock, NM and moved to Albuquerque, NM for college. Based on this move, I have seen less Native Americans in my daily ventures, but compared to other regions such as California I have heard that their are hardly-next to none- Native Americans seen daily. This also depends of course on the ‘appearance’ of a Native American.
